Um... 30 times per second flicker rate is detectable by the human eye, provided that one can isolate the subject. It's not difficult to see this in light sources here on Earth, but when looking at the night sky, it is pretty darned difficult to "catch" it. In fact, for all of their limitations, our eyes are still capable of amazing detection. I can see my own blood cells in real time, though not in color. Try it, stare at a neutral background and relax your irises- it's like donuts in a pipe. :)
This is so stupidly Americanized. Documentaries are not action films, stop trying to make them as such. For a good example of a documentary series, see the latest BBC ones, narrated by David Attenborough. Life, Planet Earth, Frozen Planet... That's how to make documentaries.
@dceugene My country has a McDonalds, more than one in fact, and yet I still know how to correctly use the English language ("you are" abbreviated to "you're" is not the same as "your" which is possessive), therefore I do not consider myself Americanized...though I do fancy a bigmac right now and for the most part "you're" probably right!
@90hamg15 just because it's more fast-paced than an Attenborough doc doesn't mean it's an "action film"; wtf are you smoking? This is a great series that I learned a lot from.
holy quran says theres a type of star that 'knocks' . it says theres a star that has collapesed/fallen meaning blackhole. it even says the universe is expanding....

@beautifulwomensful yeah theory nonsense lol, also, who says the universe is infinite or that the physicist that are uncovering the mysteries are not able to wrap they're head around the numbers.. After all, they are ones who invented the equations lol..
@kcodner you base your answer for @beautifulwomensful on somthing that athor people have to do for you ....so until they prove it ( btw it will never be) sit down end keep your commnets for yourself.
It is the most complex thing for our brains: the universe.
For the infinite is unthinkable, an incompressible and exhausting puzzle, which our brain can not interpret, that goes beyond our imagination, we'll never be able to unravel, but we can imagine, idealize, but never get anything concrete, which I call: theory nonsense.
If light can travel around the Earth AE 7 times in 1 second, how can a pulsar spin 100's of times a second being about 6 miles across ? To remain within the laws of General Relativity , the pulsar would have to be 186,000 miles in diameter to produce 1 pulse a second. If some pulsars are spinning 950 times a second, then to remain within the laws of Physics, the pulsar would have to be 186,000 x 950 which would = 176,700,000 miles, just to pulse 1 time every second. That's my question.
Do not forget to halve it because 1 pulse is half a rotation I think.
So if it rotates 100 times a second that is 200 pulses a second. If it's making 950 pulses a second it's doing its spinning at 475 revolutions per second. If that makes a difference?
@johnnylifeson Circumference of a circle being Pi multiplying D, Manhattan being 13,4 miles long, we have a circumference of about 42 miles, while Earth's circumference at the equator is 24,901.5 miles. Now light travel at 186,000 miles per second, how many times needs that 42 miles sphere need to turn on itself to acces light speed... About 4,428 times, simple math.
I don't know where you get that "pulsar would have to be 186,000 miles in diameter to produce 1 pulse a second."
@johnnylifeson Actually, the fastest known pulsar is PSR J1748-2446ad, located some 28,000 light-years from Earth in the constellation Sagittarius. It's spinning 716 times per second.
@lovesangels no galaxies are not formed by rotating neutron stars (pulsars). Quantum fluctuations in the early universe are a likely cause for structure to form in space.
@wolverinezapper88 Pulsars are dead stars already so using the word lifetime seems paradoxical. But since they loose energy constantly the rotation slows down and they will eventually stop and as a result it wont be pulsating anymore thus it wont be a pulsar anymore.
