i bought a 1970 impala 4 door, 350, th400 with the protect o plate, owners manual, registration cards from 1970 up that shows im the 3rd owner and it runs with absolutely no problems....imo good buy.
You couldn't get the 454 in the cadillac for that generation. Also, the reason for low hp is due to the change in HP rating. When they changed the rating the powered stayed the same, eg. the Cadillac 500 in 76 makes around 160hp but a couple years earlier it's much higher. This is due mainly to the change in the way hp was rated
@TheToTooTwo Not entirely true. I spent 2K on my ford taurus and to cut a long story short, it now has 206,000 miles on tap 43 mpg on the highway and has never been to a repair shop. Still till this day runs really good as if i just bought it, defentally the best car i have ever owned and probably will ever own. Its not good looking or fast but gets me to where i need to go.
im buying a 94 chevy blazer for 500 bucks has new battery new driver side window motor new fuel pump the tires are 75 percent 200 each tire and a new spare new transmission just put in 10,000 miles ago the interior is great and the body has 2 rust spots which i fixed and the engine is a 4.3liter vortec with 122,xxx miles on it. runs great and doesnt shake at all while it idles. the truck also has 4x4 which works great and i get 15mpg in city and 17 on highway.
And bushings frame bushings and tie rods, idler arms tires break lines dont look at beauty alwase look O-0 under the beaters. you do find very nice cars
My 2000 Intrepid was 150 bucks, needed a new muffler, brake lines and sway bar links. Runs great, gets 38 mpg on the highway. You can always find great deals if you look.
The guy got one very important fact wrong. The engine is 500 cubic inches, not 454. The only way it would be a 454 is if someone yanked the Caddy motor out and put a Chevy big block in.
Anyways, this past summer I scored a complete, running '72 Olds Delta 88 convertible with the 455 Rocket motor for $1600 from an elderly gentleman in Gardena, Ca. It badly needs a top and could use a new paint job, but its otherwise straight and sound.
man this car is a classy ride and it will definitely only go up in value, plus back then many engines were grossly underrated as far as power was concerned, of course it needs work done to it but its worth it. these engines got massive potential, with literally not that much money you can up power outputs considerably and these block are the real deal, reliable as anything !
Years ago I needed wheels (just totaled my Camaro). Gas station near where I worked had a '69 Chevy pickup behind the building. 283 3-speed. My manager knew the guy, said he'd talk him into a deal.
The truck smoked (natch), it went through more oil than gas, but it started every time I turned the key and it had a good clutch in it.
50.
BUCKS.
I put some gaskets in it, drove it for almost two years and sold it for $150. I probably spent more than that in oil for it, lol.
<-- drive an 88 fourth gen civic that i paid 200 bucks for (originally, now has mods). Not a thing wrong with it (other than a few dents. My other car is a 93 Cadillac Deville that i paid 900 for. The Deville had REALLY bad paint, and no A/C, but other than that was perfect! Even the leather was in good shape.
Absolutely correct, sir. For having a web site researching cheap cars I would think they need to learn more about the history of these older vehicles.
Caddies did only have 500 and 425ci motors. I used to have a '76 Olds Toronoado and a '78 Caddy Fleetwood Brougham. Absolutely beautiful cars.
Every car i have ever owned as been under a grand. I bought an 88 eagle premier for $500 sold it for $300 after four years. A 1966 plymouth sports fury for $300 that i restored and i still own and my latest find a 1997 honda civic hatchback for $700 which i use as a daily driver
Also You can buy brand New Roketa and Johnny Pag Motorcycles for under 4 grand like all Motorcycle they require maintenance so make sure You can get parts for It. They do Not have enough power for highway passing speed but for town and Country roads they are excellent.
Illuminati monster truck, demolition, scrap Industry have known about cheap Cars and where to get them or years. Also lost 1977 LTD Landau and a 1971 Marquis, 1976 Cougar. Destroying old Cars Is the Illuminati way of saying Fuck You! ether Your going to be A Slave to high Car prices or make You walk.
@ortafunk: Well..............I'm not a big fan of the 'Illuminati' conspiracy theories, but yeah, I can't help but think there is some sinister force out there that may play a part in destroying all these older cars............I mean, a good chunk of these older cars were made in an era where rock 'n roll{or disco ;-)} was king, and people of all colors were coming together to have fun, and to rebel against 'The Man'.
These guys are fucking retarded. Oh its a 454. No you dipshit its probably a 472. & Its not FWD either. Dam morons. You can see the rear axle & diff when they show the back of the car. Definately trust the guys who know NOTHING about the car they drive.

there is literally nothing wrong with it! it runs better than my 2009 chevy Malibu! as for gas mileage the factory mpg rating is 18 highway and 16 city, so far after driving it the 350 miles back to dallas where i live. i think those numbers are just about right. in fact it gets a little better than 18 highway from my calculations. and it looks almost new! no cracking dash or fading paint whatsoever!
I bought a 1988 tbird for 800 dollars (from a pawn shop mind you) three years ago come july and the thing still and runs drives fine. looks like shit but i love it
my first car was for 300 bucks, 91' toyota tercel, needed a new valve, i did a 600 dollar head and gasket rebuild and drove it for 50,000 miles! not shabby for a gocart car.
@dave97202 I loved that car. It was such a piece of crap, but so comfortable, easy to drive, started right up, and would be a great toy for a few laughs. I wouldn't want to rely on something like that for daily transportation, but for cruising around california, you can't do more with less than a car like that.
@wenis1990 The alignment appears (from the looks of it) to be fine. Just the steering wheels is off center. It's a simple five min fix for most cars. Alignment pertains to the way a car handles, I.E. if you let go of the steering wheel, and it swerves (pulls) to one side, THEN your alignment is off. The deal with the steering wheel being off center is only cosmetic.
@AlumarsX no shit. im just talking about for a split second when the frame switched to that. I had a AIM chat window half covering it and i was just watching in my peripheral vision and it looked hilarious
I got an 86 fiero 4 cyl iron duke for 500 bucks...I mean...it's not fast...but it gets about 25 mpg..it was in good running condition with about 125000 miles on it. It had a few minor issues...but all in all...sweet deal!! Now all i need to do is save up 5000 and get a 3.8 supercharged series II in that bad boy!! I'll shit on 50,000 dollar cars for 1/10th of the price!
@nls8520 that's all you can think about when you drive that car. The kind of car that's so slow, you can never be in a rush.... that's so shitty and so flashy at the same time... pimpin indeed.
I live in TJ and I tell you that Yes you can have your car done for less than a grand in almost any shop here specially when you just cross the border and head up to downtown TJ just before La avenida Revolución... Great Video...
@mayinss those guys told me you don't even have to cross the border. The mexican body shop guys will walk across and pick up your car from the US side, and then bring it back! Clearly not something you'd do with a valuable car, but for a grand fuck it!
I sold a 1976 Pontaic Grand Prix with a 350 for $60.00. I had $300 on the window but nobody ever called. Yes.. it Ran!. Had some kid offer be the 60 so i took it. I wanted it out of my driveway
1973 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible= 5650 mm (222.4 inches)
2009 Chevrolet Suburban LTZ 1500 4WD=5660 mm (222.8 inches)
Sooo Close, But the LTZ and most LT and LS models are the same lenght but in 1973 the eldorado is bigger. 1973 Chevrolet Suburban = 5480 mm (215.7 inches)
cool clip. I got a 97 Pontiac Sunfire for $2000 4years ago and its the best value and car I ever bought;0 Gets 30mpg all day too...Screw new cars haha

I'll shit on 50,000 dollar cars for 1/10th of the price!
churchesablaze666 1 year ago
$1000 for a car.. great.. 8mpg... fucking terrible
ArisingSoul 1 year ago
@ArisingSoul what's worse, the 8mpg or the fact that it's a 500 and it's front wheel drive?
TheSmokingTire 1 year ago

I live in TJ and I tell you that Yes you can have your car done for less than a grand in almost any shop here specially when you just cross the border and head up to downtown TJ just before La avenida Revolución... Great Video...
mayinss 1 year ago
@mayinss those guys told me you don't even have to cross the border. The mexican body shop guys will walk across and pick up your car from the US side, and then bring it back! Clearly not something you'd do with a valuable car, but for a grand fuck it!

Your videos just keep getting better. Lets see you go shopping for a $1,000 car and see what you can find.
I have 1990 Nissan Maxima SE I sold to someone for $1000. It had 160,000 miles but still drove great. That guy got a screamin deal.
