In stand alone, they follow the music, which was slow. If you go onto Chauvet's website, they are much faster. I do agree that the price for these is too high, but they are worth it. Check out the Intimidator 1.2 scanners.
these are terrible in stand alone mode. i was about to buy 2 of these but honestly they look horrible... so sluggish and rather boring. expensive toy.
I am surprised you see that. I do know that there are two speeds to the builts in programs.. fast and slow. If you use the black out controller that they come with, you can switch from one to the other. Perhaps you were on the slow program and did not know to change it?
Either way, I thought these scanners, for the price, were pretty good.
hey, are these the chauvet intimidator 1.0 DMX intelligent scanner? ive been thinkin about buyin some and if these are the same ones i want im gonna get em cuz that looks awsome
Are they linked together with DMX cables? I noticed the one on the far right in some parts of the video has only the red power light on, and not the blue DMX light, but the rest do.

ah ok, is that video in the slow mode or fast mode? do these things move faster or was it just low music or something?

I think this was set to the slow program. If they weren't. the BPM of the song itself are not that fast so it would still be slower than normal.
As far as speed goes, these lights do a pretty good job.

Yes, these are the DMX lights. All four of them are chained together and running in stand alone mode here.
