I usually saw them hanging from the underside of leaves reaching out in a circle to catch onto you as you passed by. I'm not sure if they drop from above ( like I believe ticks do when they feel the vibrations of your footsteps) ? This leech definitely sensed my breath as more than just wind when I blew at it in the video... you can see it really picks up the pace! PS. back in Canada now.. 2 month trip lasted 2 years! Having trouble sitting still now! 25 or so countries! Just do it!
