@mom2brookeluke In the first solo Bobinsky she is wearing socks. This solo was based on the movie Coroline and the choreographer, Taja Riley, wanted black socks. We used the socks from Old Navy that had a grip pattern on the bottom of the foot and they worked well.
Bobinsky is absolutely brilliant. Both the choreography, and how she danced it. It kind of reminds me of the original Fantasia, the between the music itself and the way the music seems to make her body move involuntarily. Perfection!
Is this the only time Tokyo ever choreographed one of Brooke's solos? I really think that she does really well with his coreography, she already is a beautiful dancer and I think she just really flows with this style of dancing. :)
Hi Brooke! My name is Franny and I go to Moving Company from MI! I have competed against you a lot and you are the cutest little dancer i have ever seen! I love your bobinsky dance! Its my fav of yours! :) I hope to hear back from you!!
I love Bobinsky! its my favorite! it reminds me of a fairy tale or something and shes dancing around a story. i don't know if that's the concept but that's what i got from it! haha loved it! :) and she had so much attitude in Disturbia. it was cute. :) keep up the good work.
you are soo good ! my favorite dance was serenity :D im starting competiton this year. and im going to be competiting in a group for jazz. any suggestions on how to do good in competitons ?
@lovedance1234 Good luck with your competition team. It is a lot of fun and hard work! You will do great as long as you attend rehearsal and do what you teachers ask of you.
@loldancer1748 She is dancing at Xtreme Dance Sports and we followed our Ballet teacher who moved there. Brooke and her connect really well and is the best ballet teacher in the area. Lastly, we are still in touch with most of friends from Steps and see them at a number of regional competitions.
@GabriellaVirredici There is no specific meaning to Serenity, but was classic Tokyo choreography. This solo was to show Brooke's strength and flexibility with a strong Ballet background. Tokyo had the cut to the music so I do not know the artist, sorry.
Love this kid! Shes so talented. I really like the Bobinski routine, her facial expressions are fantastic and her timing is incredible! I love her costume too, simple and effective and perfect for her age!! Well done Brooke x
But I'm going to be honest I feel like her technique has gone down hill.
Her jazz solo from last year, Modern Millie, she really looked strong in it with good techique.
But in these especially the second one her arms look really weak and she's 9 now and in the junior division so that's a whole new league compared to the minis.
I noticed you guys switched studios and even with a naturally talented child, training and the correct teaching is everything.
@LexBex0608 Thank you for watching and your opion. First her solo last year was her first solo and it was musical theatre, not jazz. We wanted her to be challenged with the three different solos for this year and are far more technical. Brooke has had a great first year as a Jr and has won titles at KAR, Legacy, and Nexstar. We did move studios to follow our amazing ballet teacher and agree that technique and proper training is very important.
@xXtarzoXx "Bobinsky" is based on the movie and music from Coraline. It is Brooke's favorite to perform as she really enjoys getting into character. Last year her "Modern Millie" solo was musical theater and was her favorite as well.
@cmdancer77 NexStar was great! She was overall high score and Title winner for 9-11 yr old soloist with "Bobinsky". She also received the "Power Intensity Award" as a judges choice for "Serenity".
@missbbdadancerx15 Bobinsky is her favorite and has been the highest scoring routine this season. She enjoys the "character" and the song is from Coraline the animated movie.
Shes so versatile!!!! AMAZING! I absoultly love Tokyo's style, its so clean and not just about tricks! Brooke is definitly one of my favorite dancers to watch! Keep dancing Brooke because your a STAR!!

Oh my gosh this is soooo AMAZING!!!
I just started watching Brooke and Dena'h 's videos yesterday and can't stop!!! I love Serenity soooo much!
I'm just a tap dancer in 9th grade, but I'm about to do contemporary this summer(: I can't wait!
But is there a meaning to Serenity, and who is the artist of the song?

@stepsdancedad Oh...but it's really amazing! I am actually trying to learn it myself :)
And I found the song it's called Samskeyti by Sigur Ros. I'm also trying to learn that by ear on piano :) So far so good to both! Keep it up Brooke!
