Am I the only one bothered by this archaic battle view? I prefer to see my characters when the cast and land their attacks. Not to mention being able to see the armor/weapons equipped on them. Thinking about trying this anyway though, as I loved DQ 8 on the ps2, and need more of this series.

@CryHavocDogsOfWar Yes, you are a minority in this view. If they change the battle look (And this was a factor in DQVIII) People complain that it's not Dragon Quest anymore. Especially since this is a remake, they want to avoid any such stigma.

I wish they showed your party's attack animations. The game looks good but I don't really like these old style battles. Its like in Digimon World Dawn/Dusk.. =\ it's good but that would make it better, imo.

i've played dragon quest 4 and i gotta say, it's a great game. it has the traditional way of rpg and that is what i have been looking for on the ds and after i finish dq4 i'm going to play dq5.

I'm so sorry bro but I never beat the game because I removed it from my R4 flashcart but if you want a guide to help you then try typing in ''dragon quest iv walkthrough for ds''

without the quotation marks of course, and then you should be able to find some guides or walkthroughs telling you what to do in the game.
