HELP ME my screen goes black every time i turn the ps3 on nd all of the plugs r in the right way i did what u said nd i reset it but the same thing happens any suggestions????????? please help anybody. this sucks my grandmother died this morning, my parents got a divorce, and the last thing i have my ps3 broke :(

My ps3 hasnt been working the ps3 will turn on but it wont display any audio on the television so i thought it wuz the AV cable, so i bought a new one, it still wasnt working so i tried an HDMI cable and it still doesnt work

question for me: I have a TV 32inch no HD my PS3 I got it off someone for free but theres no TV remote or AV/TV button on my TV. I plug in my Sky and it takes over the TV and goes to AV1 but it dont work with PS3. Whats wrong.!

I have the original 60gb ps3 and the other day it started freezing when I would try to select a disc. After trying to restart it started freezing upon startup. I then went into "safe mode" as you and others have shown (thanks by the way) and tried to fix it from there. The problem is when I try any operation in safe mode it lets me select the option, select yes or no, starts the procedure and then the screen goes blank. Any ideas?? I feel like I've tried it all and can't figure it out.

unfortunately, both of your methods dont work for me, sice my ps3 immediately turns off after 2 seconds.

is there another method that i can do under my circuimstances.

I havent used my PS for about 3 days and just like that when i put it on today i get the Red Screen Of Death. I tried the recovery mode!..i tried all the options in the recovery mode. Even done the software update twice. But no help!!

I tried that, but instead of it going to stand by mode, the red light starts blinking. So have to touch it again to go to stand by. Ugh, I think I have a different problem. I hope my hard drive is ok. On another note...I do have the yellow light of death as they call it :( nnnooooooo!

my brother has a ps3 that switches on but after 20 seconds or so switches off again.

in the 20 seconds you can put a disc in or out so the drive is working but he cant get the menu up on the screen.

anyone got any ideas what problem might be and is there an easy fix ???

Plug your PS3 into the standard def tv. Put it on standby, hold the on button til the screen comes up, simple, i had same problem ages ago.

what kind of noise? if it's a fan noise, it's overheating. diagnostic mode won't help that.

Our PS3 is not reading discs ever since we did this last download. It will read them every once in awhile but then sometimes not.

I did everything the first override and the second method. I get the three beeps but no override screen and no video signal from my ps3. My controller wasn't recognized either. All this happened after the 2.76 update. Did they remove the override option or what?

Allright! so i did exacly like you did.. i went in to the trouble shoot, preset the option 4 (rebuild database) once ive done that everything becomes dark. am i suposed to wait a few hours like it says, or is it another wierd problem? :( if you know plz reply to this!! :(((

i think you have the problem i have where the ps3 wount read the disk right? that means the blue ray box is broken (brakes most often if u sign offline from the game rather than quiting the game than signing offline) there are other videos that show how to fix it. look for videos that deal with blue ray problems. if thoose dont woek than you have to send your ps3 and get it fixed for $190 or more. thats what i gotta do :'(

Ok, so Im pretty sure my ps3 has a corrupted hard drive. I turned it on one day, and it showed a wave, but no XMB. I tried it several more times, and got nothing. So, i did a hard reset (what you just showed) a couple o times and now all i get is a black screen. I just want to know if you think that my ONLY problem is that my hard drive is corrupted, because i know that can be easily fixed. Also, when I go to "Restore File System", it tells me to restore my Hd, which does nothing.

alright man i have a problem where my ps3 doesn't show sound or picture. its probably because i use my hdtv and which to a tv thats not hd... Well i've been using my components cables and it doesn't show picture on my hdtv. when i use the a/v ones it doesn't show either.
