Andy Arthurs and A Raincoat's original 45 single of the song "It Came In The Night." The song was also included as the soundtrack to Kenneth Anger's short film "Rabbit's Moon." EMI 2393 catalogue number for the vinyl 45 rpm.. It was indeed released.
@nastynastynena BTW be sure and get the 1979 version of Rabbit's Moon which features this song, and is 7 minutes long (they play the song twice back-to-back). The original 1972 version of Rabbit's Moon is longer and uses a do-wop soundtrack! Both are available on Amazon in Kenneth Anger anthologies Vol. I and II.
Anyone have a track called `Nostalgia '75' from their album. I literally haven't heard it since 1975. I reckon it could be quite er...nostalgic ! God the 70's were great.
Hi beebfader . Did you manage to get hold of this Nostalgia 75' ? If not , i can e.mail to you. I have seen it on e.bay a few times; in fact, there is one there today.
thanks so much for sharing this. I really hope that the next Kenneth Anger dvd has the version of Rabbit's Moon on it that uses this song. The version of Rabbit's Moon on Volume 1 is not nearly as good.
OMG thank you so much! I was just looking for the version of Rabbit's Moon so I could try and rip this song, but it was deleted, then lo and behold I find this video. Cheers! :D
The song, a non-album single from 1976, is actually called "It Came In The Night". It was used (sans permission!) as the soundtrack for the 1979 version of Kenneth Anger's "Rabbit's Moon", which can also be found on YouTube. A Raincoat had a handful of really great tunes - "I Love You For Your Mind (Not Your Body)", from their sole album "Digalongamacs", is one of my fave raves. Thanks for sharing this lost gem, and just in time for Halloween! :) What program is it from?
@AdAstrsa i have a copy of this song, if you want it.

What is the line at 1:20? "It looked like a..." and then I can't make out the rest of the line.

Alkaline Trio used this song as the intro for their concerts this year and I can't get this out of my head ever since.

Hi guys...been looking for ages for the 7' s, does anyone know some auctions or private seller who would deal it? Can't find anything on the net :(

I love this song, it's so catchy. It's a shame it was never released.
Does anyone know where I might find lyrics to this? There are some parts where I just can't understand what they're saying. Thanks!

"On the day we met I took you for a ride, that was back in nineteen hundred and seventy five..."
It wasn't on 'Digalongamacs, twas only ever a single. If you google A Raincoat and go to 'who is Andy Arthur' there's a very informative piece.
Andy Arthurs also had something to do with in the band Tonight, along with another ex-Raincoat, Phil Chambon.
Nostalgia 75 finishes with the sung phrase "Tee Aich Eye Ess, Eye Ess Tee Aich, Eee Eee En Dee", and so it proves to be!

Very kind of you to offer, I'd be very grateful, as I'm still looking. 30 quid does seem a bit much to pay on EBay !

I do like this version, but I think kenneth Angers interpretation is a little bit more enjoyable,*

Google the song's title to learn more about its story. It has never been released commercially.

A rare song and an even rarer video! Stuff like this makes it worth sifting through all of Youtube's "vlogs."

This was on the Arrows show, during their first series in 1976, with Jake (left) and Alan (right) introducing the clip.
