"Smile through the pain" CRAP Thats a stiff upper lip British approach to bottling up pain & causing yourself cancer! The Kid who 'smiles' is dying inside from fear, And no one ever suspected he'd bring a gun or knife to school when he cant take it anymore! If your getting bullied for doing something you love (like Dancing or music) TAKE ACTION! Learn to defend yourself (Martial arts etc) so that you dont live in fear - Dont tell ANYONE your training, But Next time they bully you FIGHT & WIN!
honestly, i don't think this is the best attitude to encourage. i mean, the whole problem of bullying comes from people trying to assert their superiority over others. the drive to assert said superiority often comes from insecurity, but still -- it's about somebody who feels uncomfortable if there isn't a hierarchy that they can stand at the top of.
so why don't we teach kids to stop thinking in terms of hierarchy altogether?
