  • I just love it :D

  • omg I freakin' love that dikad dikad daa thing!!! Sorry, I'm not musically educated enough to know what it's called. I've listened to Bollywood music most of my life and never really appreciated classical stuff, but now that I'm starting to, I kind of love it!

  • no all of you who hate should be the ones to pay for their hate.. so that would be both of you.. pak does not equal terrorism and india does not equal bad tabla players

ignore those who speak to be hateful

  • this is not raag charukeshi, it is kirwani

  • They are from same gharana. SS Kashmir Soldier is an idiot and lets hope he gets shot by Indian Army for terrorism.

  • Honest question with no disrespect:

Why do they say 'dah digidigidigidigi' before playing? Are they announcing what they are about to play? What is this called?

    Thank you.

  • yeh they are reciting the composition then they play it.

  • It is also there form of counting, but instead of counting in measures ( 1 2 3 4), it is counted in phrases ( Ta Ka Di Me = a phrase of 4). This comes from the fact that there phrases are actual sentences with physical representations, in essence they are telling a story or a poem with music. Think of the "holophoner" from Futurama

  • it's called konnakol, it's the traditional indian way of learning rhythm, when learning a percussion instrument they are not allowed to physically play a rhythm until they can 'speak' it

there are quite a few videos of solo konnakol on here, look them up, it's fascinating

  • xATTACKK - This is called the 'bols'.

  • Wow this is great!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • really nice

  • the guy at around 2:14 is doing the half-beats of the taal.

  • haha, right :p maybe another to count beats in afghanistan?

  • *another WAY (i meant)

  • the "guy" is yousof mahmoud. Yousof learned Tabla by Ustad Allah Rakha Khan Sahib, Ustad Zakir Hussain and Ustad Fazal Qureshi and by his Father Ustad Asif. He plays very well, you can get a tabla solo of him in Vilambit Teentaal and Jhaptaal. bye

  • why? because they are not from pakistan? shame on you...primitive boy

  • have some respect ....it would interest you to know that Tari ji has a great amount of respect for Zakir ji Abba ji an Fazal bhai....agreed with TaalPanchamSawari, shame on you.

  • nice

  • This older gentleman(player) is excellent. Bohat khoob.

Did you get it. Learn from him!!!!!!

  • bro i m a tabla master i know how to play so many tals n teen tal is one of my best

  • First of all,I am not a "bro"... but know tabla very well.Don't believe that you are a so called "master." May be at home! But not in the musical field. For you used words"many tala in teen tal" is absurd.Sir! people who play tabla they don't say "many tals" in one tal.The proper word is "variations"UNDERSTAND!!! I CAME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT "YOU ARE JACK OF ALL MASTER OF NONE." NOT EXPECTING ANY REPLY FROM THE IGNORANTS.

  • a peeshto there is so many tals out there for tabla u wudnt know cuz u dnt play tabla so get yo shit straight n den tell me. n u hella corny with "you r jack of all master of none." shut the fuck up with that. u besta be coo nigga on mommaz dnt beleive wen i say i play some gud ass tabla, but trust me i do. aight bbbbbbbbbbiiiiiiaaaaaaattttccccchhhhh!!!

  • excellent, i love the structure in indian classical music and the clapping system as i am a tabla player myself. speaking of timing, i am quite sure the guy whos clapping his hands about 2:10m is doing it wrong. very wrong !!!

  • this absolutely rules! enormous demonstration of rythmic skills!

  • i thank u so much for postin ..however..i am with "mayadhari) ji on this one...a ustad always leads the way.. and for shaahabaaz to b playing iwht his usted in a jugalbandi is suchhh an honor...a tru lover of indian shastri sangeet wud realize that.. waah..nice jugalbandi..

  • haha i didn't realize music had intelligence. You must be a genius.

  • if you want to find do some research or do not listen

  • It is Ustad Fiaz Khan leading the way! Not the other way around. Even Shahbaz should be offended that you degrade his Ustad in your comments.

  • no its not. its shahbaz hussain. a great tabla player.
