i dont think he was underrated....look at all the awesome bands he inspired! He rather liked the underground status, i think. he was far more delicate and gentle than his arrogant music persona....but he and many others KNEW he was a great genuine musician! RIP.
i LOVE this tune, but i met alex chilton once at, and after, a concert, and he was a true, and complete ASS....maybe thats why! there are so few views and only one commenter! still like the song!
@sauciesedgwick: I met Alex Chilton three times and he was a total asshole everytime. By the third time I expected he'd be a jerk and I didn't care. I just laughed off his rude remarks to me. He realized I was fucking with him as much as he was fucking with me. That night (Bottom Line Club, NYC) I was really drunk and started yelling out requests (I was almost thrown out for it). And you know what? Every request I yelled out he played!! This song was one of them.
