Mark, I appreciate your tenure as the Mayor of Concord, even though I live in Richmond, because I was urged, more than once, by the Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists, to go demonstrate against the war at the Concord Naval Weapons station. I did not do that because I did not want to create trouble for the Concord police and my son is an officer in the US Army. Somebody has to keep us safe here in the US, so I appreciate that you have "held down the fort," here in the USA.
I can create an edition of etchings or woodblocks to help you raise money for your next campaign, whatever it is that you are running for in 2012. I did that for Rosemary Corbin one year when she was running for Mayor of Richmond. How is works is I give the candidate the edition and she gives a print to whoever donates money for her campaign. I think they were pretty nice etchings, though really not Smithsonian quality. They decided it was legal to do that.

Thanks for a great survey of important issues to the region--and telling us what the region is! I am going to listen to it again. As I recall the discussions about ABAG in the 1960's, the most important issue at that time was stopping expansion of Bay fill, period. It caused some people to try to grandfather in some expansion of Bay fill. Watch them looking for opposition to even more fill, even tho this clearly stated limitation has been in place for years. They still don't get it! Jean

Because of ABAG, they also stopped shooting the wild ducks and other shorebirds, so the wildlife came back into the Bay.
