Long live Rockpalast Festival - German tv at its best!!! I still remember that warm summer night, celebrating with friends, the tape recorder directed to the tv set ... In that night Europe was much more of a community than it is today with all those financial crooks ruling - if not ruining - the continent...!

This IS The Real Deal - Thank you for posting it .... I had the honor and privelege to see Rory live three times in the late 70s, and got the chance to meet him as well - He was such a genuine artist, and as good as it gets as a truly classy man .... I will forever miss him - I hope that he, and Steve Marriott, and Gary Moore are making amazing music together somewhere that resembles paradise, or Heaven .... 'Nuff Said ....

I saw this when I was 14 years old, live on Swedish TV. I was completely awstruck by the sheer energy and guitarplay of Rory. Only halfway through the show did I realize that I could tape it on a cassette (from the TV monitor). I still have that tape today. But now, thanks to helderolibar and youtube, I can watch the whole thing again. Many thank from Sweden.

PS: This show got me into Rock 'n Roll as a singer wich eventually lead to an LP-album in 1984. Thank you Rory Gallagher R.I.P.

What a pity! I was a little bit too young for this concert and I had adored purple, zep, rainbow, hendrix and floyd and then 1979 I heard Rory Irish Tour for the first time and I knew, that this was the best real music from the bottom of the heart and soul and I would love it for ever.

I´ve seen so many combos live, but Rory´s were definitely the best by far.

In his eyes you could see, how he enjoyed to play his rusty strat a million miles away.
