Yea, remember when cars had names on them that you knew, Like Gartlits, Snake, Mongoose, Pure Hell, Stone,Woods and Cook. Today we have cookie cutter cars with corperate names on them Lucas, AAA, and others no fear here. Let's pitch the RED's and bring back the FED's. sure be alot more fun.

When funny cars were different not the same mold with different a badge on it. With todays safety FED's are safer then ever but still a handfull. It takes Balls and guts to drive one. FEDS forever.

I was there in 69. Slept in the car for 3 nights.Party all night-go to the races in the day.Hot as hell that year-showered at the carwash. No 2 cars were alike. No corp. stuff. Drivers drove like their lives depended on winning each race. I loved

the altereds & anglia's. Hairy as hell.

Not as fast as today but ten fold on the

excitement. Et's & speed records were

constantly broken. Drag racing has peeked out, but I still love that smell

& sound.

@dad19471 You are absolutely correct! I caught the drag racing action from 1971-on up. All I can say is: the more drag racing became advanced and refined as well as EXPENSIVE, the less exciting it became. The same atmosphere is just not there. You had to experience those daze to understand!
