It is back to minimums, and learning the lessons our grandparents taught us, on how to stretch a dollar and save pennies! I only know that the little things in life, must be our little joys. The big things cost too much!
No argument here... also we should expect reasonable returns on our money and investments... Unreasonable expectations allow folks to hoodwink us and screw up the economy... Look at the Madoff thing now... Even rich folks got screwed cause they expected 11% per year... seeeesh
My Dad was raised the 1st 10 years of his life on red mexican beans breakfast lunch and dinner... We face a different sort of challenges today... My opinion is that we always will face them, but that we have the tools necessary to deal with them and succeed... Good to meet you
yeah I have heard stories on hom my mom was raised on potatoes and how they seem to always make it and I have too... Attutude has a lot to do with it all... Happy Holidays!
There's a lot of wealth in your two cents, Pappy! Our ancestors would marvel at how soft and wimpy we have become. Me, I'm just hoping to muddle thru this coming decade of "Change" with a wary eye on my fellow "Americans".
Good one Pappy..heck we even might be related! My family was never smart enough to leave Oklahoma/Texas though...even in the 1930's:) Something in my bones tells me there are some hard times are a comin..but we'll swim out of it. It might be rough though.
The Kecks? My my Pappy..you come from the blue bloods! We were just cattle rustlers and ranchers. Ever heard of the Lee Gang or the Lee-Peacock feud? We have history too..just not high society. I still have a tendency to want to steal peoples cattle to this day :)
LOL well If there are Blue Bloods in hillbilly circles maybe but some Kecks are known for skinning muskrats in the livingroom... I will keep a close eye on my beef...
I think its just a matter of time till folks get back to basics... If it sounds too good to be true it usually is... We just have to forget quick fixes and do the work...
Well we have it better than most here compared to most countries, but we got here from others hard work and may have forgotten that it takes hard work to keep improving our lot...
Government needs to hold those who break the laws, swindle us accountable and then get out of our way... If we do half as well as the past several hundred years of Americans we will be alright...
People here blame the governement for everything and expect evrything to be provided by the beast they criticise so freely. There is no such thing as doing it for yourself anymore. We are all sheep you know!
You mean the sky can still fall and it won't crush us all?
*slaps forehead!*

Amen Pappy. I wonder what the founding fathers and the fighters of the revolutionary war would think of us.

Well said Pappy. All I know is I'll certainly be glad when this economic crunch is over with. The doom and gloom on TV is pretty relentless.
