hmm idk if its just because two members of Cynic are playing the song, but it just came to my attention how eerly similar the rhythm guitar line is at 7:58 to the intro to Veil of Maya. Within the Mind is one of my favorite Death songs tho, and Sean's spin on the drum part does kinda throw me off.
@JtK27 What happened is Steve came back and Skott was gone.
But I don't know the details, all I'm saying is that Steve was Death's best bassist and when he came back in, Skott had no chance of being in the band again for some time, and by that time he probably was in a different band. He probably still plays, but he may have just stopped altogether. Either way, he was a good bassist and should have been able to rejoin around Symbolic, because he fit the band better than the last two bassists.

@JtK27 Looked into it. Look up "Victims at Play Lowbrow". Lowbrow is the band name, Victims at Play is the album name. That's the band he was in after Death.

Did they actually end up playing Within the Mind on that tour? And why was Chuck showing Skott the bridge to Living Monstrosity? Did they play that?

I always wondered what happened to Skott Carino. He seemed like such a capable player.

@Bassbait That band I knew of. But it seems like a guy like him would have been active within "the scene" so to speak.
