You have played very little time. Try not to work on playing as fast as possible, but instead work on note choice, dynamics, etc. Otherwise you'll end up a soul-less shredder.

The only thing that need lots of practice for me is picking,,i do not like lightning speed ,,but some speed is reqouiered for solos!! I practice every day 1-2 hours and when i have more time maybe 3!!

I've been playing for almost three years now, and I practice six hours every day. When I don't practce I learn theory or listen to music.

Yes, some speed is required for soloing, but working on just speed will make you just fast. speed doesn't equal good player.

What paul is talking about here is for advanced players. I wouldn't call myself an advanced player, and neither should you. Practicing what you cannot apply is uselsess.

i think it depends, some people use both their wrist and their forearm when they play at maximum speed and their arm doesn't tense up because it's sort of combined however, if your'e picking only from your forearm and it starts to tense then it's BAD.
