IF YOU DON'T FEEL THE FUNKINESS IN THIS SONG...SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG WIT' YO ASS...CALL 911...GET ON SOME OXYGEN...GET AN I.V. STARTED...LIFE SUPPORT...LOL!!! PEACE.
This was my favorite song on the last offering from the infamous " A Tribe Called Quest" in 1998. They laid down the blueprint on this joint plus a little help from a Slick Rick sampling. Hot 2 Def !
i went to FYE and i saw this album and didn't buy it. what the hell was i thinking??? the economy is bad but i know i could have spent a funky ass $15 on this masterpiece. im going to amazon RIGHT now to get this (Legally).
@screwopenborders What's even more amazing is that the melody was created from a very brief intro in Freddie Hubbard's "Little Sunflower". I just LOVE how he (Dilla) could take only a few seconds worth of a clip and turn it into a 4+ minute masterpiece.
Damn, im surprised this has so few views... This is one of the greatest TCQ songs ever made, but then again, they did create so many of the greatest songs I have ever heard with my ears
You bunch of new jacks - Jay Dee was a part of the Ummah. RIP - this is one of the greatest Tribe tracks that no one knows about - damn, we thought we had it all back then - hip hop's changed and i ain't mad at the new sounds, but RIP the hip hop of the 90s - forgotten. jazzy. classy....
@TadAllagash Crazy thing tho, Dilla didn't produce this particular track. What's sad is no-a-days when someone comments on a Ummah produced track it's Dilla this and Dilla that and they never want to acknowledge Tip or Sha's work. This was a highly underrated album. 3 and a half mics my ass, Source Magazine!
The Ummah is J Dee morons, its Jay Dee, The Abstract (aka Q-tip) and Shaheed from the tribe. They were a production trio that did a bunch of cool shit in the late 90's
To be honest though this entire album sounds like something Jay Dee would make and the crazy part is he actually did produce a track on here its called Find A Way.

@steeltownbrown52 okay bro, but you know, he's there, on this album, so ...
seboufdu59 1 year ago
@seboufdu59 ...so this particular track wasn't produced by him. Don't know why people want to cut Tip and Sha short of production cred?

@DjMikeRoc Actually it isn't a Dilla beat, it's not credited on his discography or the credits for Love Movement.
