im 12 and im proud of my dislexia my school and frends hellp me throu it and i allways try my best even thou some tims kids in my year call me dum or i feal like an outsider i always know i traid my best . :)
@ilikebac0n Proof: at 12 my spelling score was: 70 reading score was: 90 IQ:126 (way above average). I needed speech thearpy as a child yet now I have a degree. I couldn't spell my own name or tie my own shoe laces, but with the help of a computer correcting my spelling (nothing more), I got an A* in creative writing. So it isn't down to me being being stupid. Whats going on there? The only thing I find hard to believe is how ignorent people can be.
@ilikebac0n I'm dyslexic and I've never had anything of the sort, and while some dyslexics can end up having anger issues, not all of them do. I think I've only had 2 fights in my entire life and they where all before I hit 12 and it was defending siblings. Your comment said dyslexics (and in that it emplys *all* dyslexics) have "no social skills and can't interact with other people". You also said dyslexics (again in you emply it is *all* dyslexics) are "stupid".That isn't accurate.
@ilikebac0n I am dyslexic & would side with many of your opinions based on how I have felt in some social sitautions. I've felt dumb, lacking in communication skills & angry at myself for many of those things. All of which as a human being is normal & considering your ability to relate I'd guess you're human too, which means nobody's perfect.
I supposedly have dyslexia, and I've NEVER used it to excuse myself of the things I haven't achieved. To me, dyslexia is a form of retardation, although people with dyslexia do consistently achieve the extrodinary, and show natural flair/talent in certain areas with this condition. I can relate to the "anger" problem but it has never got me into the described situation below. If anything it comes about because the pupil is unable to express/defend his/herself. Dylexic's make easy targets.
@ilikebac0n and how can you prove that ? go on prove to me that its all made up, how can you explain to me that its all fake?? cant wait to hear this.
i am dyslexic as well and i use to think that i was dumb , but now i attend college. i still struggle with this on a daily basces. but i will keep moving forward....m
@Innhouseproductions Before I tell you this, I want to tell you that I'm dyslexic, too. Anyway, I just want to say that you make your dyslexia very obvious due to the fact that you actually had to tell us 'I am dyslexic and I wrote this message without spell checking'. I mean, come on, big whoop. Dyslexics are not mentally retarded dude.
People simply need to take note that some of the most famous people known to man are in fact dyslexic.
Personally, I have no problem being (ok I will say it Dyslexic) its the rest of the world that has a problem with it. I can tell u one thing I am not dys anything and I most certainly am not disabled. Funny thing, I came across this wiki page on speed reading a few years ago after reading I thought dam, I have been speed reading my inter life. In fact I could teach a class on it. Dyslexia discrimination is still rampant, more so now than ever. Psychometric testing has been introduced to discriminate against us.
I am dyslexic and I wrote this message without spell checking.
