For your notice, that car doesn't have CVT-transmission but DSG-automatic transmission. @alptugay1 : It is CVT with 7 "fake speeds", or pre-defined steps for mimicking manual shifts :) ...i used the term "7-speed CVT" for the laymen to understand :P ...
@vivz990 Even if its CVT, the point is you're running it in tiptronic manual where you change the gears yourself...the viewer wants to see the 'rubberband' CVT effect...which feels awesome and fluidic.... - from A4 3.0 V6 Multitronic
@aneelkaa : it is probably the difference in transmission..CVT is indeeed the closest thing to a conventional manual, but still not as good..good shift timings and manual can do a better job..outside temperature also might have played a role as it was a scorching 40+ C..

it makes absolutly no sense to drive it with 6th ore more rpms because you have les power than 5000rpm, and the CVT transmission ist not the sportiest the good old manaul thats SPORTY
well..this one is the 2009 model vehicle...and the objective of this video was to test the top speed...all the 0-100 tests were done in sports manual and sports auto mode; in both the scenarios, we nevr crossed 5 - 5.5k rpm...but yes, i agree with you on the point that nothing can replace the good old manual tranny :) ..however, we dont get manual variant's here in UAE; atleast, not for rental :)

jokes apart; probably the outside weather might've been the cause for degraded performance; coz in hot climate with temp soaring well above 40C, the performance of any vehicle, esp. ones with turbo, goes down by a noticeable extent!
yes...it has sport mode; sport mode itself it has the normal manual mode and an auto sport mode which has preset steps just like the manual mode, but the car automatically 'shifts' between the steps according to throttle input

this car comes with a 7-speed multitronic CVT transmission..check up Audi ME website for more info on the car I tested..

There is and there never was a DSG for the A6.
Fronwheeldrive = 6 Speed manual or CVT (multitronic as we say)
quattro = 6 Speed manual or tiptronic
The 4.2 V8, the 3.0 TFSI and the S6 and RS6 you only get the tiptronic.

I have the same car but 2007 model, it's manual, and it is much faster than your A6? Your goes from 0-200 in 53 sec my goes in 42 sec?
