  • How can I get this pedal?

  • How big is the Voodoo Vibe compared to a big-box Deluxe Memory Man?

  • could you tell me what is the song played in intro to this and some other videos?

  • @aleksandersucharski

It's my old band Candleman Summer. The song is called Brilliant. Hear the whole song on my video showing some pics of my pedal collection. G

  • @blondegraemey thanks for info, i'm gonna check it out immediately. that riff is tasty!

  • Have you tried the Voodoo Vibe Jr? Just had one dropped off over at the house and it incredible.

  • Very nice pedal, but to me it's too complicated. I saw a demo for the Fulltone Deja Vibe 2, and it was incredible sound as well, but very easy to use.

  • Great pedal but very expensive sadly !

  • meh.. this pedal is huge.. the knob setup sucks.. The fulltone MDV2 sounds better and is a better design overall

  • Hi, could you please tell me what are the effects used in the little music on every begining of your videos, il love that tone!!

Buit myself a buzzaround from frestompboxes and that so great sounding stuff...

    really inspiring videos!

  • That was recorded with an old Digitech GSP 21 processor. I played a Gibson Explorer through a Vox AC30. Glad you like the videos. G

  • @CamilleJacob I was thinking the same thing. Love the tone, it sounds so lo-fi, in a good way.

    Great vids Graemy.

  • does this unit include the footpedal like on the original uni-vibe?

    could someone please clarify?

  • No but you can use any vol pedal as an expression pedal. G

  • The Roger Mayer Voodoo Vibe JUNIOR is around $350 and I think this one goes for $450 - $500 ?

Don't think I have found a JMVV vs JMVVJr video duel ...

  • Nice! Did I see a video of Joe Satriani's guitar tech showing this box on a pedalboard of Joe's? I think Joe had an Ibanez FL-9 flanger in that setup?

I definitely want my OWN sound but never tire making notes of popular musicians' pedalboards/effects! ;)

  • for me anyway this is the holy grail of tremolo univibe and vibrato, my only issue is it's size! it's massive! hoping to get this one day, saving my pennies for it, not cheap but u get what u pay for!

  • Your videos are a great resource and exellent. Many thanks! Any idea how much a second hand Voodoo Vibe would cost or is worth?

  • Even with its complications it's a dreambox, and if i had my wish it would have a midi trigger/tap function, but I dread to think of the deficit that would cause in the quality of this analog wonder.

  • this pedal sounds great, especially the vibrato but looks pretty unpredictable - just watching it the knobs do different things each time in different situations. Not sure on whether to buy one or not

  • Hey blondegraemey!

I have bought this pedal, but i wonder why the bias knob has to be set differently when i want the tremolo effect, to when i want chorus or vibe effect. How can that be?

    Thanks.

  • I think the bias knob serves a different purpose in Tremolo mode. This is a complicated pedal. Even Roger Mayer has build a simplified version which is now available. G

  • I notice what seems like a mounting chassis. Does that come standard with the pedal?

  • No, they are just metal brackets I fitted to screw the pedal to my board.

    G

  • I owned one of these many years ago. I don't think I ever managed to get the same sound twice out of the thing. The only time I ever used it was for Hendrix's 'Land of the new rising Sun' and a couple of Floyd tracks too because to set it between playing one track and another was often more effort than it was worth.

    Better for studio than stage.

  • fulltone pedals sucks big time .

  • This one is my favourite out of my whole Univibe collection ... the only others that even came close were the Sobbat Glowvibe and the Fulltone Mini Deja Vibe (white series before the new series that came out around 2009) and even my vintage Shin did not come close (but these were notorious for being inconsistent). Nice!

  • Is it possible that the tremolo mode requires a different bias-setting than the chorus mode? My problem is that the chorus mode sounds best on a bias-setting on which I don't get any sound from the tremolo mode.

    Thanks. Mikkel.

  • Thanks again as always G, checked out this and your Voodoo Labs vid, both of which I'm interested in. Strongly considering a Dunlop RI still. can't decide. As usual though, your vids are very helpful. I really appreciate you brother.

  • I've always shied away from these pedals because of the Hendrix association, it's not that I dislike Hendrix, I just feel his music as gone from group breaking to done to death as a standard (if that makes sense), but this demo has really let the Voodoo Vibe win me over. I WANT ONE!

  • dude your comment makes no sense

  • I meant "ground breaking" not "group breaking". Sorry about that, old boy, it was a careless slip of the fingers. haha If it's not that that flummoxed you then I suggest you stop smoking weed and start reading a bit more then you might understand Standard English... dude. hahaha

  • i just feel his music as gone?

    To death as a standard?

No, that does not make sense.

  • His music has been done to death (meaning over played) because songs like Fire, for example, have become a standard (meaning a common feature) in cover band's repertoires. I take it you're not English.

  • A slip of tyhe fingers, I meant, "has gone". And surely you know what "done to death as a standard" means. "Doen to death" is when something has been over play, and, "a standard" is a song like Fire, for example, that cover bands play all the time. Are you not English?

  • i'm english, but never heard of that saying. Thanx for clearing that up

  • No problemo, amigo. Also, I tend to write some of these comments late at night or in a hurry which lends itself to making a few spelling mistakes, so that can add to some confusion from time to time. Not very good considering I'm an English undergraduate. hahaha What guitar do you have?

  • Lol yeah i tend to mess up too. I've got a 2008 American Standard strat, maple neck and Candy Cola color. It's beautifull. The finish is amazing, deep red that changes with the lighting conditions and has little sparkles in it like candy. BTW, if you want a 'cheap' alternative to this vibe, check out the Lovepedal Pickle Vibe. I got one last year, and it's amazing. Very small, very nice sounds. Fuck the expensive bullshit, if you want vibe sounds once in a while, check the Pickle out!

    Peace :)

  • Nice guitar, mate. I have a couple of Strats myself. I'll check the Pickle Vibe out. Cheers for the advice.

  • Mine is on all the time, makes even my expensive guitars sound twice as costly

  • check out video link above to Roger Mayer playing live on his custom maple-neck Strat. when asked who owns the only other maple neck strat like that in existence he answered 'Bob'

  • dear blonde,

    hope you can help me?!

i play a gibson LP custom through a 65 fender twin reverb RI.when i plug the voodoo between and hit the strings hard it makes a harsh distortion sound for a second.the reason is not the cable nor is it the power supply.seems that the standard PU's are too hot for that beauty???do you have the same probs?

thx for your answer and greetings from austria...max

  • Ive never had that problem but it does sound like you are driving the input to hard. You could try lowering the P/U height. G

  • great demo brother

  • tmiranda jodete con tus clones

  • Great demo ... this by far is the best Uni-vibe analogue effect ... very warm, buttery. (Roger signed mine)

  • I don't understand the BIAS knob, whut does tht do?

  • It tunes the effect to sound at it's best with your particular guitar/amp set up. G

  • nice tone ! sounds like 'Hey baby /land of the new rising sun',

  • Whats the price?

  • Not cheap! About £300+. Might be cheaper in the states??

  • effectrode kills this pedal,I like it but there is no comparison effectrode so far is the one I will be going with, any suggestions on something better would be greatly appreciated befor i go spend the cake..

  • Sorry but I owned both the effectrode Tubevibe and the RM Voodoo Vibe +. The Effectrode has a sexy design but it is not a good pedal: (1) Way to bassy, it fucks up your equalization and cannot be used on/off on a song (2)huge pedal that takes a lot of space (3) knobs that are not steady. It is bound to break (4) not versatile at all! I hope this will help you avoid the mistake I made when buying the Tubevibe

  • Hey man,I actually bought it already and it is a bit expensive.I dont run this on the floor its ran through my rg 16 through an indipendant loop.Works fine, but it is a little tempremental with different amps ive noticed. But not to much bass through my rig anyway.Jimmy buffet actually told me to check this out,I know him from town but if I had it to do over I would have went with something cheaper. But I do like the different voicings the tube vibe has.Over all It works well with my rig.

  • I am happy for you. I am sure it is all about different rigs and different tastes.

  • Yeah thats the problem with any pedals, nothing is cut and dry.I think demos give an idea but until its run into whatever it is your playing through, and where it is in your chain, you just wont know for sure what it will sound like.Your 100% correct it all depends..

  • i love my dunlop rotovibe to me it sounds just as good.

  • i want one of these fuckers, there about £250.i got a digitech rp350 for chrimbo and its got a univibe mode on the fx and you know what it not bad at all.not as good as this obviously but you can get some good sound out of it

  • is this a true bypass pedal?

  • Yeah. G

  • This gotta be expensive

  • its here! has a plus sign after the voodoo vibe logo thing. dunno what thats about

  • thanks man you've convinced me to get one. should be here tomorrow! eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyeeeeeeh!!

  • EXCELLENT Demo!

  • did johnny marr use this in the smiths by any chance cause i know he owns one, but somebody said he used a roland chorus, but i dont really know, when u played some girls in that demo i just couldnt help asking

  • No, this pedal came way after the Smiths split. Johnny used the chorus effect from his Roland Jazz Chorus amps then a Boss Chorus pedal. Glad you noticed the song though! G

  • Just ran into one of these for sale at my local shop...too darn expensive :^( I really need a vibe pedal too, I'm thinking I'll get either a Voo Doo Labs Micro Vibe or a Mini Deja Vibe by Fulltone.

  • Great demo, one of the best I've seen.

  • Great video ... would be cool if you did an A/B test with the Line 6 Mod Modeller. This is one of the best vibe units out there ... the others that rank up there ... Fulltone Mini deja Vibe, Sobbat Glow Vibe. Even my original SHIN EI Uni-vibe did not come close (these varied anyway). I think vibe is subjective .. I did not like as much these (but they stay in the collection)... Prescription Electronics, Effectrode, Captain Coconut (I have three), Voodoo Labs Micro Vibe, Sweetsound Mojo Vibe.

  • Wow Mr Druid! Your collection must something else! Thanks for watching the videos!

    G

  • I've owned the 3 of those. The Micro, the Mojo and the Mini Deja 'Vibe. The Mojo was a real disappointment, sounds very chorusy and not very vibey. The Deja is fantastic stuff. Lately I have bought a Mojo Hand Luna which is replacing the Deja because it really lets the natural guitar tone come through a lot more. I only tried the Luna as I don't want to use a Fulltone product anymore due to the poor attitude of Mike Fuller. I'm finding it to be very close to the Deja which is a good thing.

  • I agree Mike Fuller's customer support has gone to -100%. I'd pushed to get him into Sweetwater and now he won't even return calls. The Fulltone stuff was good after the early big box stuff he first turned out. I agree about the Mojo as well ... I also have an early Prescription Electronics but did not like the swirl in it. The Roger Mayer is the best along with the Sobatt Glow Vibe.

  • @BluPup8 the mojo hand luna is the best vibe pedal out there period .

  • ME WANTS!

  • This pedal sound great, but hell, it's an expensive one :(

  • I have had one of these since about '98.

gotta say probably the best univibe i've ever tried

  • hey pal, your collection is fantastic! I thought I was doing well with me 6 or 7 that I got! Anyhoo check out ESE music in Maidstone Kent, it's my local shop and sadly it's closing soon but the guy there Eric re-cons all the old tape delays from the 60's. He's a great bloke carrying on with his dying art to the last knockings. (Hope this is useful to ya.)

  • Cheers! Kent is a bit far from me (Im up north) but nice to know those old enthusiasts are still out there! G

  • have you tried the Bold Vibe?, there`s one at saculelectronics and has wah and tremolo

  • Haven't tried one but it sounds like it would be cool!

  • Superb videos. Liked the Smiths bit too! Cheers.

  • great pedal , great demo - no crap just showing what it does. well done!

  • Nice if we could see you playing, some great sounds.

  • Thanks for this great demo!

    What amp are you using?

  • Hi, it's a Fender Twin Amp.

  • great pedal there, thanks for the demo
