Worked for Wehrenberg right out of college as a Full Time Manager at the Sunset Hills 4 (my GM and I were the ones who closed it the final day Wehrenberg ran it) and the old Shady Oak and ultimately as he General Manager of the Eureka 6. A long time ago. When I heard this again, I felt the urge to close a set of theatre doors!
If you go to their website, there's a "scrolling" section on the top right...a bit down the list look for "Download Wehrenberg Theatres Theme Songs"...they have 3 different versions of their theme song you can download or stream.
I'm from Flagstaff and that brings back so many memories! I never realized it was a St. Louis chain -- wonder why they decided FLAGSTAFF was the perfect place to expand? It's like right next door to Missouri and everything!
Believe it or not, Wehrenberg actually operated a theater in Flagstaff, Arizona, in the 80s and 90s, The Greentree 3 Cine on South Milton Ave. I worked there in '91.
When the Creve Coeur Cine' opened, and for many many years after, Wherenberg played an upbeat songlist through the speakers until the movie started. CAN ANYONE tell me how to get that list?
Woo-hoo! This theme was integral the movie theater experience! It's so grand & catchy. Makes me happy just to hear it again. Ahhh...this is what makes YouTube golden. Thank you so much for posting."

I like the old one too.I got sick of hearing the other one. When you have heard it over and over.It gets old real fast.Even when you had to work their for 10 years or more.Which i
I'd love to have the original 70mm version from the 70s, that had the tinted stills from movies and the silly titles like "IMPORTANT FILMS" sliding past.
The only part I remember in the theaters is at 1:01 and does anyone know how to get the intro (legally) that goes like this: I'ts the perfect destination! Made for every generation! Wehrenberg! Wehrenberg theaters!
Great piece of music...I was bummed when Wehrenberg finally dropped this as their theme song in the mid-90s. I've always been curious about it's origins. Where did it come from and when did Wehrenberg start using it as their theme song? Anyone have any info on it?
Glad you like it. It's just all part of the wonderful memory that is going to the movies. If I could put the smell of over-buttered popcorn in there, I would.
Wait... do you mean that you re-recorded the entire song? However you did this, I really appreciate it... actually one of my favorite pieces of music from my childhood! Thanks!
Now if you could figure out a way to make it sound like it's coming from 1,500 individual speakers on posts spread at regular intervals across a five-acre asphalt parking lot, the effect would be perfect.
Shoutout to the Halls Ferry 6/8/14, Airway Drive In, Rock Road Drive In, Cypress Village Twin, North Twin Drive In, South Twin Drive In, Kenrick 8, Cinema 4 Center, Stadium 1 & 2, Westport Twin, Ronnie's Drive In and any other St Louis area theatre or drive in whose projectors played this lovely song before its movies. You are gone but not forgotten!
I remember this very well! As a kid who went to Wehrenberg Drive- Ins, we would know the movie was starting when this came up on that huge screen, along with the bah bah bah bah, bah bah bah, bah bah bahs! We'd rush from the play ground back to our car! Very fond memories!

No one outside of St. Louis or Illinois has even heard of Wherenberg.
JohnathanPozzi 7 months ago
@JohnathanPozzi not true. I just learned that Wehrenberg had at least one theater in Flagstaff! Then there is Cedar Rapids Iowa as well.

That's awesome. I miss the old theme. The new whisper kinda sucks. Then again nevermind, I don't live in St. Louis anymore. :(
