i really like how you said that things like this happen everyday. My sociology teacher said last week to the whole class that people who cut themselves do it for "attention" and that got me really furious! People do it to stop the pain they feel on the inside! NOT for attention. I use to cut long ago and i was in counseling for it. People shouldn't judge people who cut themselves because they have NO idea what their life is like and they need to stfu and get in touch with REAL life!
@pinkie855 - haha i can try, but i think she's working on a new book or something right now so she probably doesn't have time to figure out some sort of movie deal.
Hello! So Julia Hoban is actually my aunt, and I can answer a lot of the questions you brought up. The boy's name IS pronounced just like it looks. Guy. Not Gee. And also, she left the character's descriptions ambiguous and vague on purpose because she wanted girls to be able to identify with them and be able to see them through their own eyes, not a specifically labelled picture (both Willow and Guy, that's why his name is Guy). I'm really glad you (and all these commenters) liked it so much!
LOVED Willow!! except for people who are Cutters (like me) it's a bit triggering. But Willow definitely captures the heart of a Self-Harmer and you connect with her right away. One thing I hated about this book was that Willow had Guy 2 help her with the Cutting issue and yet I have like...nobody :|

that's ma book right thurrr! oh & guy is pronounced like guy it says it. && omg thats my problem everytime iread ilike to imagine the person but icouldent iwas kind of mad, dono why lollll.
@hesmybrandofheroine1 Maybe that is what she is supposed to look like, I have no clue. I just didn't like how you couldn't even make a mental picture because Julia Hoban never really described in the book what she looked like.
It doesnt always use the acctualy person and just because the cover has the girl on it doesnt mean the author shouldn't wright about the girls looks.! It would make it better!.
@hesmybrandofheroine1 You can barely see any of the girl on the cover. You only see half of her face and her eyes are closed. The only thing you know about how she looks is that she has brown hair she usually wears in a braid.
i know this really doesnt matter but willow and her parents were having dinner and they decided to have that '2nd bottle' of wine. .. . So they let Willow drive them home
@TyeWillKillYou212 Maybe you can download it from internet...at least you are disagreed with doing it :S i did that but it spanish (cuz that is my language ;) ) it's really easy, if u need help tell me and i'll help you :D good luck-.
@50bookchallenge3 well actually it's pronouned Guy, because in the book it says “It’s a guy. . . . Well, actually, his name is Guy. I thought that was kind of funny.” So that proves his names is pronounced as it is spelt
About not having the main character description in my opinion leave the reader an opening to see whatever character they want to see. Again good review I might pick this novel up sometime.
I enjoyed Willow, too! I also thought it was nice how Willow and Guy's relationship wasn't rushed at all, but instead, the author allowed for their relationship to develop and grow. And thinking about it now, it was weird how (aside from knowing Willow wears her hair in a braid) there was really no description of what Willow looked like. I'm looking forward to your next book reviews! :)

I thought Willow was a good book. I don't really read books where people cut or drink and all those depressing things but I read this and I liked it.
