  • @stuggit1 Wow, ok! Which monitors 1280x1024 do u recommend, ive got one 19 in dell already, iam in a budget so help me out please

  • will an asus eah6850 crossfire handle this?

  • @PSNChiko easy...

  • I tried one when I first had the set up, and I couldn't get it to work... Not sure if anything has changed with the drivers, etc. But I would have to say no... Hope that helps

  • Can eyefinity still work with a DP to HDMI adapter?

  • Thank you for making the point that all VGA adapters are active. Their are way too many videos with people claiming they can use a passive VGA adapter like it is some kind of trick.

  • why 3d Designers using 3 mointors plzzzz anyone answer me

  • @SALEEM9Vid I game with them...

  • @r2theod i just got my 6970 card, and i have threee LED benQ 21 monitors, i just wondering becouse on my card it is two dvi, and 3 mini DP + 1 hdmi

i tried to use a adapter from DP to DVI on the thierd screen, but nothing happends.. the computer requnize the thierd screen, but it woldn't let me use all three at the same time:/ do u have any tips?:)

sorry about my english! its not god, i know:D

  • @richardt848 you will need an active miniDP to DVI-D adapter.. I will get my 6970 in a few weeks and will do the same thing

  • @555russe allright, becouse i found it out, and it was just to switch the dp-dvi to dp-vga :) then its works perfectly!:D

  • Hi I need help, I have a Sapphire HD6770 VAPOR-X and I have a Samsung 24" LCD LED with VGA/HDMI/DVI input and 2 Monitor ASUS 19" with VGA input I need a good setup for 3 monitor.

I don't understand if necessary buy an active adapter DP.

  • Windows 7 automatically supports as many MONITORS as you want vai the EXTENDED feature inside windows 7 display function page. Basically you can use ALL the ports on ONBOARD as well as video PORTS. The only downfall is you can't simply drag VIDEO EXTENSIVE windowed game modes to the monitor without risk of it crashing due to video memory conflicts and such that can happen between the Onboard and cards. Well pretty confusing huh?

  • hi. i have got two monitor with vga connector. i have got sapphire ati hd 6850 graphic card. i use one connector for dvi to vga. my other dvi port doesnt support vga convertors. so can i use my second monitor with this displayport to vga adapter? thank you.

i use my two monitors for music production. first monitor for arrangement and second monitor for mixing. thank you.

  • Thanks for making this video! I just ordered one for $8 on ebay and I'm super stoked about setting up 3 monitors! I was surprised it was that easy to find an answer just from typing "displayport to vga eyefinity" haha.

  • Hey, my brother went back to England and gave me his HD TV which supports HDMI and VGA. Unfortunately HDMI on the HD 6770 is a little bit blurry. If I buy a Display Port to VGA adapter, will it work fine on a 22" HD TV?

    Cheers.

  • it confused me when sites talked about active vs passive mini/DP to VGA/DVI adapters. obviously you can't have passive adapters for anything but mini to standard DP because VGA and DVI are complete different format to DP. DVI is digital but its not packet based and uses a different signaling format to DP and VGA is analogue which is totally different. were 'active' adapters just some sort of scam from when DP first appeared?

  • u can connect 3 eyefinity monitors without the displayport adapter and instead of that to use the hdmi connection thx ?

  • Thanks for the video man! That's what I was looking to do! /me goes to buy a displayport cable.

  • nice 1 bro every idiot on line said u could not do it and i saw 1 today in store as well gonna get it first thing thank you

  • yea i just found a way to get 3 vga monitor on an ati hd card with one svga one hdmi and one DVI so i use the converter dvi to svga so i got 2 vga but what about the hdmi when u have a svga screen so you go on google and than write HP hdmi to vga converter YEa thank you Hewlett-Packard now 3 screen svga for my multiscreen !

  • i have 1 HDMI and two VGA monitors, one of the VGA isnt working, do you gave to use them both in the same graphics card?

  • How do u get it so it runs like that wats the name of the adaptor and settings u have to run that big cuz I play urban terror and I. Want it full like that

  • IT WONT WORK IF YOUR GPU ISNT A FLEX MODEL!

  • Ya that's a cheap fix, but,,,,, You want be able to watch a Blu-Ray on that 1 monitor. and your system might get the hick-ups.

  • Nevermind,..I have 2 VGA monitors and one HDMI. I have an adapter to adapt the DVI to VGA and the other monitor in HDMI. It's the 3rd VGA that I can't get working. I assume I will need a new video card and another HDMI monitor??

  • Hey, I have a Sapphire HD 5670. It has an HDMI, DVI and a VGA. I have 2 monitors going now, but can't get the 3rd monitor to extend desktop. It's either or. I can get only 2 working at a time, but all ports are working. Do you know if this displayport would make my VGA work and I can extend desktop to all 3 monitors?

  • @musicmanifest22 If your gonna convert DVI to display port, you'll need an active converter. I'd suggest you simply get a VGA to display port adapter, then you'll be able to run all three monitors. (I had the same problem as you, until I used the VGA/display port adapter.) It doesn't matter what's plugged into the other ports, DVI or HDMI.

  • @musicmanifest22 no dp no 3 screen

  • I think 19" 5:4 monitors are best for multi-display setups because 3 of them dont get too wide as 16:9 monitors but still obviously from this video give quite impressive viewing perspective. Not to mention that they are usually quite cheap, energy efficient and still the height of the screen is slightly larger than a 24" 16:9 monitor (I did a calculation). Basicly they lack only in width but this might arguebly be a plus.. Because lower resolution 3840:1024 compared to 5760:1080 means more FPS .

  • I love video because u use 4:5 monitors instead 16:9

  • Thanks for video , it really helps for us who are new to Eyefinity AMD setup.

  • I have the 5850 version of this video card. I currently have dual monitors with the two DVI's. I want to have a third monitor but I dont do any gaming, I just wanted the third monitor to extend my desktop space. I want to be able to drag applications accross the 3 monitors like I can now with 2 monitors. In other youtube videos I have seen that the notification area of the taskbar(where the clock is) gets pushed all the way to the right side of the third monitor.

  • .......continued from last question:

I want the 2nd and third monitor to be just plain desktops and the clock to stay in the first monitor, like it does right now with the dual monitor setup. Is this possible???

  • How many inches are these monitors? PLEASE ANSWER!!!

  • active means it has a power supply a standard video connector takes 5v from the graphics card so extra power isn't needed. the only reason you would need one is a video wall were 5v is not enough to drive maybe 8 monitors or the video cables are crazy long (15m+)

  • Awesome, especially the old school ibm looking keyboard

  • Is the Display Port to DVI connector an active or are they passive?

  • doesnt vga give crappy quality?

  • @aranilah not really, most people can't really tell a difference.. I believe DVI is just really necessary if you have 2560x1600

  • thanks <3

  • hey can u help me im kinda new to video cards ,would this work a ati 6870 and if it does and can u give me the link for the coverter thanks

  • Do you have problems with the DP monitor waking from sleep? Im running windows 7 64 with 5770 xfire and I have a DP to VGA. Windows will recognize the monitor on a good day, but usually shows as "generic non-pnp" monitor. I am running 2 Acer S243HL monitors and a small oldschool lcd from like 01. Saving for a third 24". Just Upgraded CCC and no problems fixed. Looking to get something that will work constantly. Prefer either DP to VGA or HDMI, although I could get a DVI to HDMI Cable if needed.

  • thank you!

  • thx man

  • I would think that being able to afford a computer and monitors like that, that you could atleast afford a keyboard and mouse that isnt from when the computer was invented..

  • ok will this work. displayport > passive dvi with a dvi to vga thingy that you get with evry graphics card. ?????

  • Im using a displayport to VGA adapter but after a few minutes working good my monitor is 860X840 resolution,Im not able to change this settings, any idea?

  • thanks for the tip........

makes gaming a bit more realistic on 3 monitors.....

  • I love u man...!

Thanks for the tip, now, how bad is the color difference between Analog and digital (DVI/VGA)

  • What DVI are you using? standard or like DVI-A?

  • Any adapter can't work, needs to be active.

And yes, there are active adapters for 5 bucks.

Active means that have a DAC, that convert your digital signal to analog signal.

Is the only way that can work(in other way, your video card needs to be capable of send analog signal throug the DP).

The adapter that you show on the video, IS active.

Thats dont mean that needs to be a expensive adaptor. Yes, if you buy the mac, accell, sapphire adaptors, will cost you a lot more.

  • From what i have read up on, if you have specifically the 5970 Black Edition (or any card which comes with Displayport '++') then you can use a DVI single link passive adapter. For cards without the Displayport ++ then you have to use the passive DP to VGA, and even still you can have problems.

  • I just got my 5770 and was mad that I could not use my eyefinity desktop on my 3, 22" monitors with COD and I was wondering where did you get your adapter and what is the model? Please let me know:)

  • @UtubeTHX this is the adapter I purchased... You can get them for cheaper, but the company had tech support and i wanted to be able to return it if it didn't work...

  • @r2theod thanks, its working

    Heres my system:

    Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit

    Intel Core i5 2.5 GHZ

    8 GB DDR3 1333 Memory

    2800 GB Storage

    ATI 5770 Turbo running 3, 22" monitors

and 4870 Turbo running Samsung 46" 1080p HDTV graphics cards

    1050 Watt PS

  • @UtubeTHX don't forget to remove the spaces in the URL from the first w to the back slash

  • @UtubeTHX how the fuck do you shell out money for somehting not knowing how it works?

  • @UtubeTHX use "widescreen fixer" dude

  • i bet you it's hard to tell the difference or probably not even at all between the ones that are dvi to the one that's vga !! this particular model is pretty good with great reviews from eyefinity users... Accell B101B-003B

  • Whats the model of screen you have? I'm looking to get some screens and your's have thin bezels

  • @sl1pm0nk1 HP, LP1965

  • thanks buddy

  • NICE DUDE

  • your f'in awesome man, i had no idea the DP to VGA would do the trick. you saved me 100 bucks

  • Boss you are the Best ! You have help me ! Milion Of Thanks ! You Rullz

  • peopel say u can get 3 screens at 1920x1200. i have three 24 inch monitors and i can only get up to 1680x1050 with the dpto vga adapter. i even baught a 2nd adapter from sapphire that says its supports 1920x1200 through this vga adapter and it still wont work. i got 2 connectiongs through the cards dvi ports and 1 through the display port to vga. oh i have a radeon hd 5770 if that helps. does it work or not because ive read on reviews it does.

  • Should work, NOW just set it up in CCC.... Right click desktop, and select CCC, left Click on Graphics in the top right, left click desktops & displays, right click on the monitor in the box with the BLACK TRIANGLE on it, highlight display group, then select create group, grab the drop box, and select 3 Displays (3 x 1), left to right, and follow the directions from there and you should be good to go.... Yea yea....

    -R

  • @r2theod yea i can get 3 monitors going but what im saying is i cant get my full resolution with the vga adapter. i can only go as high as 1680x1050 per screen. not the full 1920 x 1200 resolution... :/

  • The full resolution would have to be way greater then 1920x1080... My triple 19's are at 4032x1024 sounds like you just need to set it up correctly... Read my above posting on how to set it up...

  • @diabolicalheaven per screen. back when i had 2 nvidia card i was able to get 5760x1200 because i had all my connections through DVI. but with the 5770 card and the vga adapter the adapter only lets me go as high as 5040x1050. the vga adapter wont support such a high resolution.

  • As far as I know ALL Displayport to VGA Adapters work !!! Displayport to HDMI, and Displayport to DVI HAVE TO BE SPECIFIC ADAPTERS... SO, just go with the easy/cheap one "Displayport to VGA" !!!

  • nice

  • Hmm. okay.. I've got a MSI model of an ATI card. It has a DVI port, DP, and HDMI. And I've got 3 VGA screens.. So.. DVI to VGA will work.. DP to VGA wil work right? And the HDMI to VGA?

  • @MrNuun you have to go either DVI - DVI - DisplayPort or DVI - HDMI - DisplayPort(with VGA adapter)

  • Hey thanks for this video. Will it work with all DVI with the exception of a DP to dvi? I want to have all monitors at 75hz.

    Thanks
