Nuno would play circles aroung Vai. Nuno just plugs in to his few little effect he has then his own amp and thats it. Vais got harmonizers and shit. I would like to hear Vai without all the effects.

All you hear is a little wah on those and that's it. How is that any different than what you said about Nuno, plugging into a few effects? You can have all the gear in the world. If you can't play it translates into shit. I love Nuno, but to say he'd play circles around the great Steve Vai is just plain silly.

@brib333 Vai has fantastic feel also..... sure some effects on his stuff..... however he is just as free flowing as Nuno . Vai is a master. Vai and Nuno are 2 of my top favorite guitarists including Paul Gilbert.

Nuno is def. underrated as a guitar player. Not overly complicated like Satriani, not too simple like Cobain, and not as redundant as Angus Young; he´s more like Tommy Iommi with a bit more classical side to him than blues. I always like trying to learn his somhgs because he throws in new shit all the time and it keeps things fun and funky!

Hey man thanks for letting me attach my video as a response! It's a cover version where I play all the guitar (on top of a drum/bass backing track I found on the web), and I invited a couple of singers to help. Anyway, I remember when Extreme first start gaining popularity around 1989 - they really stood out because of their great songwriting, and of course Nuno was amazing... his rhythm guitar playing was just as interesting as the solos. I'll shut up now. Rock on!

I will say the problem with Van Halen's effort with Gary was not GARY but in the songs choosen and the time frame given. Glad to see them back. NUNO is great! Like their backing vocals.

One of the best guitar solos ever laid down on a song. Nuno, along with Vito Bratta, are my favorite guitarists of all time. Great chord phrasings, chunky rhythms, and solos that meant more than running some meaningless scales up and down a freatboard faster than what the next guy could. Glad to see Extreme back playing again.

What a lot of players do is sign the endorsement for the money and place those amps on stage for show, while their real amps are behind that or backstage or something.

They have just released a new albun last year and it totally rocks its the best album I have heard in years check it out it`s called Saudades de rock and it has all the kick ass guitar you will ever need . Also they have toured it all over the world all last year and this was for Namm it`s always small it`s just a showcase for bands and Musical instruments .

If I remember right...he used to use the floyd rose, but didn't like it anymore and put a piece of wood under it to disable it and just plays as if he had a set bridge. He describes that guitar somewhere on youtube when talking about Washburn's remakes of it.

Actually, there is a new member. Kevin Figuerido was not in any of the former incarnations of Extreme. He played with Nuno in Population 1 and Dramagods. But I saw them in Chicago, and he fits right in. The chemistry between those 4 guys is amazing! Go see them. It's worth whatever you have to do to get there!
