I visited New York once. It was hot and smoggy. The pavements were overcrowded with angry people. I was warned not to travel on the subway. The streets were filthy & crammed with homeless. All the shops are very expensive and full of cheap rubbish. The restaurants are dirty & the food is tasteless. The hotdogs are disgusting & taste of vomit. My expensive hotel was infested with bedbugs. I refused to tip & was thrown out of 5 restaurants. I was mugged 3 times. I am never going back.

How is post 9/11 NYC? Haven't visited there since 2000, back when the twin towers still existed. The whole world seems so grim, ever since that fateful day...
If you look a bit you ll find easely a plane for only 500 $ Holland - NYC- Holland and a *** Hotel in Manhattan for 120-140 $ per night. I'm from Switzerland and jsut cam back from NYC 5 days ago.

Wow you got lucky at the Empire State Building. We had a 3 hour wait. We took the NY sightseeing tour also. Not bad for $88 bucks

Oddly enough, the US Open was happening at the time of the visit, but couldn't get there. If you look at 2:38 to 2:50 ... Yankees!! and they won :)
