  • whats' the title of the song please?

  • @alangname I will remember you by sarah mclachian

  • Even though were poor we are always happy.

  • Awesome video!

  • seems you have a batle in here... whoever tries to help filipino will just be disapoited coz all of those help will go into the politician's pocket.. its a waste of money to help when you know it wont actually help those who are in needs...lets not blame the colonialization coz almost all countries experience those..lets blame 1st, the govt., 2.) the catholic church & 3.) th parents of these poor little children

  • PHIL ranked 50th of the world,s cleanest countries, second cleanest in southeast asia next to singapore in 2010.. now, why are almost all of videos here in youtube about the Philippines only shows its dirtiest place? c'mon that's only 1% of the country's place..manila isn't the lone city of PHIL ..ignorant envious haters

  • about the neo-colonialism, we need to see, problems are mirroring.

my idea is, the western world needs visit not by OFW only but by intellectuals that I would call Rizal 2.0, and many more than one.

this time, to teach westerners about the work and perceptions of original jose, and then talk with the western dissidents and oppositions about new ideas, like happened in the past, but now the cultural influence has to be bidirectional.

this is because a very similar problem is going to ruin europe.

  • We have the resource to be rich but we're not using it to the fullest.

  • why do people always documenting the puberty or the poor side of the philippines why not make it balance..

how about the good side???or the life of rich people.. ???

they rich because they work for it.. and they still a filipino.

  • MAKE MORE BABIES ASSHOLES!!!!!

  • @dickswinger86 How can that be the answer if those babies can't even go to school? That's the problem with our country from the very beginning, the lack of education.

  • @dncehalldrug it's not just the lack of education of but also the delusional influence of religions in our country.

  • Corrupt politicans protect the domestic corporations because they get under money or grease from them. That's why they create these stupid laws there to keep foreign companies out and benefit the domestic companies. The problem is no country can do it all, most need foreign investments to grow, like Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China..etc. Some how these knockle heads don't understand, they only understand their own corrupt ass pockets. Then they wonder why most jobs went to Thailand & Vietnam.

  • Lets just say I use to be a investor in Philippines and after seeing what happened to friends and people I know get completely ripped off I completely rethought about my plans of investing in the Philippines. The laws protecting foreign investment interests are just nil to none there, so who would want to invest, it is like suicide. Otherwise it would have created quite a few jobs which mean might take some people out of poverty and get an education.

  • this is the poor parts of the philippines but this is nothing compared to the life i live in , We live in the city of manila with a mansion with all the things you could think of inside and about the next 20 streets have massive houses, the phillipines is not just poverty you know! its more rich than poor!

  • :(.. .. . .....

  • Even though we are a poor nation our people will always be happy God looks over the Phillipines he knows we are in poverty but we filipinos are never sad and never dipressed because we have God in our hearts

  • @AlfredDaSauce LOL keep praying

  • the reality is there isnt enough jobs . I moved to cebu to build a business to export. the min wage here is 7000 i pay 16000. the government made it so hard for me to setup i almost gave up. I employ just over 30 people. Emagine if there was a better government not dictaded by the church. I find philos dont have any ballz to stand up.

  • wow why this videos are focusing on filipinos that are illegaly squatters in luzon areas. instead of making these videos you should encourage most illegal squatters to move back to their respected province land where they have homa land and abundant foods. you should encourage all province people to stop admiring filipinos that are naturally born in manila long time ago

  • who make this video is very poor lol

  • @inewkiller ll

  • i miss living there.. yes... it has alot of negative things.. pero its all worth it.. as long as kasama mo mahal mo sa buhay...

  • I dont like living in the Philippines... I remember trash everywhere

  • I now understand why my parents took me away from philipines. It's bcos it's a poor country and they want me to go to a good school but the thing they don't understand is that I'm happier in phillipines than In Canada. I miss my relatives and neighbors in the Philippines , it's so hard to forget all the great and happy moments in the Philippines. God bless philipines especially the homeless and others suffering...:(

  • @angietheboo went through the same thing... its hard to leave the people who have been part of my life for 13 years... i remember making plans with my friends whenever we have to go to college... how we decided to live in one apartment and make schedules to hang out.. then my parents told me were leaving... i miss my life their.. and someday i might go back and spend most of my time there..

  • @angietheboo I understand how you feel Im Filipino-American I have relatives here in America but they live father away so they never come to visit me and I live with only 3 other people the only thing that keeps me busy here is video games, T.V, and this computer. But when we go to the Philippines to visit my relatives there I share a house with 8 other people and my other relatives there live closer so they visit me every day I might not have alot of things to do but my family is better that.

  • The Roman Catholic Church is stupid. I mean, I can talk, I'm Roman Catholic, I love God and all but I think that the Roman Catholic Church should piss off of politics and stick to religion. Sure it says to be fruitful and mulitply but come on...THAT WAS LIKE BILLIONS OF YEARS AGO when God first made this world. Now, the Earth is overpopulated and the poor needs some education on making babies.

  • fault of the people who depends on governments help and fault of the government for being corrupt

  • its sad to see children on the streets and people who don't have enough money to sustain their daily needs. Philippines is # 2 when it comes to natural resources, now I, myself can't think of many reasons why do Filipinos still experience poverty. Blame on government for being corrupt? or blame everyone.

  • Thank God for christians, christians take care of the poor, I helped hundreds of children in the Philippines, they don't even have flip flops, I gave 67 flip flops I was always feeding the poor in some establishments like Kentucky fried chicken they would not let the street kids in, so I would just walk out and go to Jolly Bee or a Shakti. An amazing thing hapened I went 2da slums and found some kids gave 'em flipflops and invited them 2 sign up 4 christian school and they all where sponsored!!!

  • @christizq your so good.. :)

  • @jenny1801 Only GOD is good, we just do what we can, the little help we can give sometimes means a lot!!!

  • @jenny1801 Only God is good, we do what we can to be like Jesus, Jesus will say: I was naked and you clothed me not, I was hungry and you did not feed me... I hope I am one of the ones he will say, I was hungry and you fed me... ANYTHING you did for anyone you have done it to me.

  • @christizq yeah.. Totally right. :))

  • @jenny1801 We must work together and make a difference, I am only one person andI have helped hundreds of people if we all did our part this world would be a better place. That's shy we have to preach the gospel for more pople to be christians and make a difference in this world

  • tif the people gave a shit about one another.. dou think it would of been this way

  • @jflayva That is why the gospel must be preached, people do not care for people but when people meet Jesus their lives change and they start learning how to love and they care for people and they sacrifice even their lives to help humanity. And that is why we give up everything and help all those around us. Jesus teaches us to love our enemies and to do good to ALL!!! Jesus is the way the Truth and the life.

  • The door is closing now on Filipino's coming to Europe. We have a new government in the UK and times have changed. It will be very hard for unskilled workers to come here now. It is time that you took action and stopped letting these big Chinese blood families ruine your country. Good luck Filipinos, the future is yours, take it with both hands!

  • @goff8128 unskilled, eh? well for your information there are many skilled workers from the Philippines.. and yeah you're right it's time we rise.

  • WHAT'S THE SONG?

  • @iFUCKyourMOMMi

Forgot the title but it's a song by Sarah McLachlan

  • This is not a video of poverty but a vid of home sweet home.

  • We in the United States go all out for disasters that happen all over the world. We send money, food, medicine, clothes etc. When the typhoons happened in the Philippines not much was done to help them. That really upset me. So i just wanted to say my part. I think the government let them down.

  • @Rusty2238 the philippine government just puts it there pockets so we shouldnt send it

  • @Rusty2238

    :((

i always wanted my country (Philippines) to be like USA, always helping other countries in times of need... but how can we? we're like the poorest of the poor..

    God help us..

  • don't you know that I am a filipino and I have suffered here without food we are poor and my life is bad there, includong with my brothers and sisters. I don't have much survival skills, and just to prove I am pilipino, I speak visaya. Dili mo kabalo na sakit kaayo tanan kami na wala balay.

  • Your reasoning is out of the context of neo-colonoalism. Do you really understand this subject? Just to remind you please control your emotion and avoid using F word in your reply, it won't help to resolve the problem in the Philippines. I respect your belief and what you have done for the Filipinos but be gentleman and reply only to this subeject. Is that alright?

  • hey, cool down, I never mentioned about your personal or thing about you, I am commented the real issue and based on facts on this video, If you telling me I am marixst: I AM NOT!

  • this is the product of western colonialization for the last 500 years and until now. you can see the background and surroundings of the this video: neo-colonialism

  • @rcephuk, neo-colinialism has brought Philipinos some systems that if leveraged across a wider swath of the population may be able to eradicate poverty. More should have been done by the colonial powers, I agree, but in 2010 I would say that they need to immediately get the Internet to as many as possible and for FREE educate as many as possible to the level of a bachelors degree to bootstrap the country to compete globally.

  • The desire of wealthy nations to control other nations' values and perceptions through cultural means, such as media, language, education and religion, ultimately for economic reasons are all the root of neo-colonialsm in the Philippines....

  • #1 I want you to understand I love the Philippine people, ok. So if you think I have any other intent get your f*king head out of your mthrf*king ass. #2, I did not say that neo-colonialism did not exist. What I said was, "neo-colinialism has brought Philipinos some systems that if leveraged across a wider swath of the population may be able to eradicate poverty." What I suggest is that you take what they brought and make hay with it,. not lemons.

  • @rcephuk just so you understand #1) I may end up marrying a Filipina, #2) I DO Filipino Martial Arts.with the founders of the art in the USA and #3) am on a committee in the USA to propagate FMA across the globe. If I ever make a billion I will spend all of it but for 20 to 50 million (that I will save for myself) on the Philippino people to get them out of poverty. I will set up systems to teach them through the bachelors degree online for FREE. I am interested in raising the people.

  • @rcephuk what I was implying was that the colonial powers could have gone ANYWHERE, but they came to your location. Wherever they DID NOT GO, is still a jungle or desert so get your Marxist mindset straight. Western civilization and neo-colonialism was not 100% bad... if you have some other hateful agenda maybe you need to see the light.

  • the fils are poor,yes.evry1 i meet wants money, yes.but a dangerous place,no.walk around n e big city in the states at 3AM and see what happens!people in asia are civilized compared to North America and Europe!FACT!N e 1 can get robbed n e where, but Asia is safer than just about n e where else in the world!Poverty sucks evry1 knows that!

  • The faces of the children is so touching my heart the way of Live in the future ! . A good education is the way to change. Dont ever and compare to other country friend ..where we have the richer and the poor. May god bless the way of our live in this world

  • this is normal.. povert in the streets.. normal everyday scenes in the phils.. thats what makes them happy

  • theres nothing progress in the philippines

  • very sad but nothing changes in phils .

  • Malasianss,,,,what's wrong with you? I think you live outside your country,,,don't you?

  • discipline, the most important thing to a person, is the key to a better nation.

  • oh well.. name whatever ya'll guys named to marcos but for me i think he was the best R

  • That's exactly the sad part. You can count the best places to go but poverty is all over the place. It's an epidemic. And thel government is not doing anything about it. So we need to create awareness and perhaps get some support from people who made a better life for themselves.

  • if you come to the philippines my first word of advice to anyone is,...DON"T TRUST ANY OF THEM. Period. They're only interested in one thing when it comes to a foreigner. His money. Stay to yourself and your family. And if you marry a filipino, don't even trust the family. Hell don't trust the girl ur marrying for a couple years. Just be smart.

  • I'm sorry. It sounds like you had a bad experience. But you can't stereotype based on your bad experience. Most Filipinos are kind and have a big heart.

  • well, I suggest you to read this "You May Be Married to a Filipina if . . ." written by a white guy.. enjoy reading!!

  • lol,...-Written by a white guy- Oh really? I just watched Manny pacman fight with my -white guy friend- ..lol and we were just discussing how you have to be smart here because filipinos are out for cash. On the US Embassey's website they have over 5 thousand cases and stories of foreigners getting ripped off, waking up in alleys after drinking with filipino strangers, all sorts of horrific stories. Point is, EVERY foreigners gets taken for a ride at this zoo if he's not smart.

  • JUST READ IT FUCKIN' MORON.. :D US embassy? give the link..

  • give u the link? Ur a self proclaimed malay slave. Get it your damn self.

  • you can't give it.. which means you're lying.. FALSE FACT! dumbass!

  • false fact? Dumbass i'm an expat in the philippines. Plus i have a family member that works for the embassey. Its a national website. Anyone can look it up. Go to the website moron and look at the warning section for American citizes. the most dangerous places for Americans. philippines is listed as No.1 -5 depending on when you go. I'm not here to serve you by giving you the name of a link that is a national site you can look up on your own. What do i look like? A malaysian?

  • LAME EXCUSES .. ssssssss

  • Be smart, no need to treat filipinos like they don't have hearts. You never know. Filipinos theirselves were not always the reason of why they're being poor today, do you even know the history of the Philippines? do you even know how some Countries treated Philippines? Please read a book or an article.

  • i feel sooo sorry for the phillipines but there was this one guy who was going out with me and we where dating but he scammed me so he could have my money and didnt really love me

  • The only thing i can say is take this bad experience and turn it into something positive. As far as the guy you were dating... don't worry he will get what he deserves down the road. Best wishes.

  • back to 60's ------ Philippines is the second wealthiest country in Asia...

  • I agree. Back in the days, we were so concerned about Ferdinand Marcos' corruption. 20 years later, its much worse!

  • masyado na mang nakaka desperate yan, sana magsumikap tayo instead na ipakita kung gano ka miserable dyan,we need work hard, wala naba tayong pride para i post to?

  • My pride is not the issue here. I posted the video because most people do not see the problem. Apparently you don't. We can't be blind about what's going on in our country. We need to make others aware and perhaps they can offer support. You should do the same.

  • i don´t understand this video, it appears to be a documentary on misery, blight, overpopulation. when i went back to PI my first impression after seeing swarms of young kids was, this country seriously needs population control - too few internal resources for so many inhabitants - meaning crisis in all its manifestations

  • No doubt the PI has a huge poverty problem, and its much exacerbated by rapidly exploding population, but it is still a great country with some of the most generous people that I have ever met. I think this video does a reasonable job of depicting what the country looks like once you get away from the malls and the financial centers.

  • Jerry thanks for your positive remarks. As a group, we can create something positive and help out the kids to have a better future. With collective efforts, we can make a big difference in saving lives.

  • Very good video man! It also brings back so much memory to my BELOVED CEBU CITY! Yes!, "WE" can only thank GOD OUR HEAVENLY FATHER AND HIS SON LORD JESUS CHRIST, for allowing our parents an opportunity, so WE the children can have a better LIFE!!! Yes, thanks MUM!!! And also, happy mothers day to all the mothers outhere!!! GOD BLESS THE PHILIPPINES AND GOD BLESS AUSTRALIA AND GOD BLESS THE WORLD!!!

  • If you're in a position to help a child, you should consider it. It only takes a dollar a day to make a difference in someone's life. Who knows, that child you save today can SAVE the country tomorrow.

  • Overpopulation is the major problem...

  • bwa! nonsense

  • Kevin, instead of degrading your own countrymen, you should try to help and save a child's life. Who knows... the child you save today can SAVE the country tomorrow.

  • people shouldn't always blame their governments blaming corruption as the culprit of poverty... corruption is everywhere in the world but will for each and everyone will be the motivating power towards economic progress. If all works hand and hand... would have a better grip than with that of only a few... cheers...

  • What an Inspiring vid clip it flashback on my memory back then when i was a kid there in PHILIPPINES....for sharing this video file...

  • It is the government's fault. Do you realize, even when you try to offer help, you must go through a politician who will take cut before you can do anything. Corruption is the biggest problem. If we are in a position to help, we should save a child today and who knows, that some child can SAVE the country tomorrow.

  • @sneakyfe My uncle used to be in the construction business and he said that to win a construction project, i.e., building roads, 25% of the bid goes back to the congressman of that district. It's an unspoken rule and If you don't abide by it, chances are, you won't be "winning" any of that district's construction projects.

  • @geepeeone yeah its totally corrupt over there and it's very unfortunate. what's worse is that majority of the entertainers are getting into politics to get a piece of the action.

  • @geepeeone Looks like even domestic corporations have a hard time surviving the corrupt environment. Well, at least you don't have to deal with stupid ass foreign corporation investment laws and the slow ass corrupt government functions to get licenses to go through. No wonder it takes you guys forever just to finish the construction on the highway that goes directly to the airport and south Luzon highway. If I am not mistaken it is still in construction after 10-15 years of doing nothing.

  • @edpannewyork I disagree, corporations create jobs but when these crooks in the Philippine government create totally stupid laws to squeeze money out of foreign corporations to benefit their own pockets most foreign corporation won't invest in Philippines. Plus lack of laws to protect foreign corporation investments in the Philippines makes the investment environment even worse. No foreign investment no jobs in the Philippines, thus high levels of poverty and low levels of education as a result.

  • @Veilside1000HP it seems to me that you have a full of knowledge and has the recipe to solve your country's problem towards poverty.. why don't you be the president and solve that problem the posting it here in youtube?.. am sure if you apply your knowledge to solve your poverty.. it could have been so different by then.. cheers

  • @edpannewyork I am not saying it will solve all the poverty problems but it will lessen the severity of it. Well, if you know in Philippine only the top political family people gets to be president, even if you have a chance of beating them you'll probably get shot before you get elected, it happens all the time during elections. I am not Filipino, I just invest in Philippines but after years of headaches I pulled out and moved away from that crap hole run by bunch of corrupt monkeys.

  • A bunch of losers

  • No your a loser

  • funny how our economy is struggling and how so many people fight poverty while our politicians are traveling spending money on foreign lands.

  • I agree.

  • @Filbisaya Nothing to stop you becoming a politician!

Somebody has to enjoy the money paid in taxes...Lols.

  • @Filbisaya i also agree.this crippling corruption is also stopping foreign investment, which would create the jobs that would ease the poverty.Every one gets screwed by there actions.even business.

  • well kahit san bansa may mahirap po,nagkataon marami tyo kaya marami din mahihirap,,kung sino pa yung mahirap marami anak kasi walang work, walang libangan si nanay at tatay kundi gumawa ng bata,,hala humayo kayo at magpakarami..at magpakahirap at mamatay na lang sa hirap...sana magising tayooo...

  • i really like this Video...nami mis ko Pilipinas! kahit mahirap ang buhay...masaya at nakangiti pa rin mga bata....masarap kc kasama ang mga mahal sa buhay...thanks for sharing po.

  • Hi, if you're in a position to help a child you should consider it. It only takes a dollar a day to make a difference in a child's life. Who knows that child you save today can SAVE the country tomorrow.

  • I agree, I sponsor 2 little angels from the Philippines , will do all i can to give them a chance...to reach all of their God given potential.

  • @CaptAmerica97x

God Bless you, I sponsor 3 in the Philippines myself and it is a joy to me.

  • @jemjapan Oo nga,., and that's the most beautiful of d pinoys,., ang mga mas dukha tao sa Pilipinas, they look like d most happy nd kind.,., I'm from Nederland, Europe, but ito ay ang dahilan that I luv d philippines so much.,

  • IGUAL NO BRASIL

  • The booming population can be controlled but the government is shackled by the Roman Catholic Church. The country is in the business of sending migrant workers across the globe but the economy progress slowly and only benefits most of the large companies and corporations, the wealth is not widely spread. It's about time the country need an honorable good leader who can make a real change and guide the country to a positive direction.

  • I agree. But unfortunately, we will not see any progress in the near future. If you're in a position to help a child today, you should consider it. It only takes a dollar a day to make a difference in a child's life. Who knows, that child you save today can SAVE the country tomorrow.

  • who knows

  • @Flipsify im sorry but thats wrong. Its the corruption of the government that stops progress.Hiding behind religious hatred wont work

  • The Filipinos are running themselves to the ground by having corrupt officials and cronies in the government who are only looking after their own self interests instead of providing the citizens tools to succeed in the society. So many areas need to be addressed and the first thing the govt say is lack of funds. There's enough but it's being spent unwisely, the country can get a loan from the World Bank but the country has a bad track record on corruption.

  • "lack of funds" - yet they have all this money to be spending on their 'movie industry'.

The government are corrupt as anything.

  • The united States gives more foriegn aid than ALL OTHER NATIONS COMBINED!!!!

    TAHT IS A FACT

  • philippine government is full of shit all they do is lie to the people and full of promises they should be hang or line em up and firing squad all of them our filipino people doesnt deserve this but its seems like most of the poor people are voting bcoz of bribes that are given to them its all about the money, greed and corruption

  • And America, because all of it benefits America.

  • Poverty is everywhere because this what we call society is actually a competition driven by greed, losers end in deprivation.

Welfare consist of cash aid, food stamp at medicare.

  • The Philippines is a country that could have been. It has great potential, but the nation is gripped politically by the powerful Catholic church. It pretty much has to approve all government laws passed behind closed doors. There is rampant out of control population explosion that has the blessing of the Church despite government attempts to control it. Only an official declaration of SECULARISM can the country survive. Puritanical ideologies must be adopted while dropping Catholic work ethics

  • YOU ARE RIGHT !!! Snipza

  • yeah that's true...where there is catholic religion..poverty follows look at south america...

Philippines: The only Catholic & English speaking country in Asia. a big LOL

Korea ,China, Japan non Catholic & non English speaker w/ economy better than the US.

  • Korea, China, Japan better than US? Google the per capita income of this countries and compare that to the US. The US is the only remaining superpower in the world. In spite of recession(economic slowdown) we are still rich. We just don't want spend our money. The economy of Japan, Korea and China depend on the US. If we don't buy their goods, they get mess up. IF THE US GET A COLD, THE REST OF THE WORLD GET PNEUMONIA.

  • More than 10 trillion dollars na ang utang ng US sa world bank.

  • that's a good metaphor never really thought about it.

  • The Spanish influence can be seen in Latin and South America. Whenever religion plays a big part, especially when it penetrates politics, mostly negative things become the end result. Look at religion's influence in the muslim world - same result. Look at the progress of socieities where religion does not play a big part - china, korea, japan, singapore, europe, u.s.

Mas may delikadesa at less corrupt.

  • Corruption is in any place, ethnic and language.....

Since the beginning of time; it is there.

  • The Philippines is a country of could have been. It's destruction started when Catholicism was introduced in the country by the Spaniards. It has strangled progress to its very foundation. This attitude of "I'll just pray and see/watch" is rampant in the country. Buddhist immigrants in the country (Chinese/Koreans) have helped the economy, but unless the country rids of Catholicism in the politics, it will go nowhere. They need Puritanical work ethics like in the US.

  • Thank You! I believe that is exactly what is needed as well. The government, don't get me wrong, has made attempts to better things, however sad and insignificant, but until the religion is disentangled from the politics, nothing is gonna' happen. Thank you for "separation of church and state".

  • Ban the church from politics. Give out free condoms, free vasectomies, free planned parenthood lessons to the poor. The Church must stop telling the peasants to have as much sex as they want without condoms or other birth control means. Declare unilateral SECULARISM. Then and only then can progress from this out of control population explosion be controlled.

  • dude. man, we're on the same page here. Next thing you know the Philippines is gonna' be the next Africa. There's gonna' be an epidemic of HIV or other STDs, not to mention the rampant births that are already occuring, and that'll just be another problem on top of the whole list of problems they already have. They also need to fix their divorce policy. I know that you bind yourself to someone in the Catholic religion, but when they start beating you, you have to save yourself. right?

  • @Snipza unfortunately there's no such thing as "divorce" in the Philippines; there's annulment though.. lol

  • This is a great video no matter what others say, Im a Filipino guy and felt deeply for these people (which doesnt happen often) living in poverty, NYCOLOMBIAN91 is right about these people happier than the average, i just left there from vacation and these people made me want to stay there forever!

  • Yes dude, you are right and I agree.

  • Job,power,water,food & shelter shortage.Vehicular traffic.Environmental degradation.Agricultural land depletion.Wildlife preserve.

Our resourses will not be able to sustain the population in 2020 when we reach 180 million.

Act now before it's too late.
