  • nurses are not underpaid for what they do! however its not easy work.

  • Bound by paperwork, short on hands, sleep, and energy... nurses are rarely short on caring.

  • I was not aware that 200k - 100k a year depending on area and what type of nurse.

For 3-12 hrs a day was under payed

  • @ Jefgg I know plenty of male nurses who are straight and know what they're doing. They became nurses because they liked that approach to health care better than becoming an MD.

  • Nurses do not make good money for the stress load that they cope with. I am a Licensed Practical Nurse and I am proud of what I have decided to do with my life! I knew from the beginning that I would never be wealthy, but that isn't why I went into health care.

  • did she say under paid??? Where in the hek is she working at? she needs to find another place to work!

  • nurses aren't underpaid. Rns make a great money.

  • What does it take to be a nurse? A weak gag reflex! What a huge steaming pile of dog crap. Half the nurses I have dealt with barely speak English. The other half would rather spend the effort fighting you than doing their jobs. At least the foreign nurses are willing to work. Unfortunately, they can't pronounce important words like "penicillin". The male nurses are the worst. They are homosexuals, angels of death and foreign doctors who can't pass the boards in the USA.

  • @Jefgg not all male nurses are homosexuals my frnd.. you r misteken i dont know u r a nurse r not but i can say that u first try to learn what is nursing then only comment ..k its too bad

  • Nurses are underpaid?? I thought they got some pretty decent bank!

  • I agree that Nurses are heroes!peace.

  • My grandma is at a nursing home. She has had 3 strokes and somethings wrong with her heart. She is not eating and has no will of living:(. Studies show if old people have social media in their life it might make them happier. So I'm writing this so you can donate to my channel, so we will be able to buy her a laptop.

She doesn't have much longer and this might be her only chance please donate:(.

  • LMFAO @ the end

  • depressing video

  • overworked and underpaid thats true to us nurses :(

  • "harris methodist south hotwest hos-"

  • I'm a Registered Nurse and regret going into this field EVERYDAY. Nurses are treated like SHIT and also LOVE to treat each other like shit. AS if we didn't have to worry about enough already, with everyday life and death situations and lawsuits threatening our license. At least I have a job. I have never been more miserable though and I am getting OUT of this field. Someone google "No nursing jobs" or "No nursing shortage". Think for yourself and have some respect .Don't get into this field!

  • this society, honestly, views RNs as human garbage. HUD sells homes HALF price to cops, teachers, paramedics and firemen--RNs? NOPE. WHY would that be? Everyone cries teachers are overworked and underpaid, but have been oblivious to the under-the-radar workings of their unions=$90k (AND UP) w/full medical/pension at retirement. NO staff nurse regardless of seniority makes that, even cranking 50-60hrs. Many start RNs at $24/hr-that barely covers rent and student loans! RN pay does not=worth

  • Hating on the RN's. Sad, considering the work we do for people on a daily basis. I work in a cancer hospital. Being a bedside RN is like being a mechanic. You are constantly assessing, watching for changes, providing the appropriate treatment, intervening in emergent situations. We are usually the first line, first voice in what goes on in a patient's treatment if new symptoms develop.

  • overworked and underpaid...we get no respect as nurses..."glorified waiters" :(

  • Under paid?? Where does SHE work? In states with a nursing shortage (like here in Oklahoma), nurses are probably the highest paid people with an associate's degree! They get the sign on bonuses, great benefits, and awesome pay. Maybe she is expecting to make as much as the doctors?? Hmmmm

  • @marie2264 to u it may seem like they get great money but it doesnt compensate for all the stress and heavy workload they have. nurses actually do more than doctors. Teachers, policeman, nurses, and firefighters are all overworked and underpaid

  • First, teachers make on av 15K more than RNs,only work 9 mo of the year to get it. They work m-f, no holidays/breaks,summers off. Union provides 'time to do paperwork' they have the kids correct anyway, pensions, medical,CEU luncheons,tenure-it's LAUGHABLE. Cops/firemen also make more-and nurses are TWICE as likely as ALL of these to be raped, assualted or MURDERED ON THE JOB per the Joint Commission with bs wage, exp to contagious disease/radiation,insane lifting=injuries, no breaks or respect

  • BE KIND TO NURSES... We keep doctors from accidentally killing you.

    The Sarcasm Shop

  • @midnitedawn wow you obviously don't really understand nursing. you need to have high self esteem to help the patients in need, and to stand up for them when families or doctors are going against what the patient wants. and low expectations, are you kidding me?? it is so rewarding to have a patient get better, and knowing you helped them get there. it is such a well respected and needed job.

  • I am a male nurse, still feels weird when you are around female doctors

  • lmfao im still deciding if i should go into BScN as an RN or medical radiation at McMaster university in Canada cuz i'm gona feel weird being a nurse LOL

  • @kenllll I was gonna apply for McMaster for BScN, untill i realized the cut off was like the high 80's >.< . I'm going to Ryerson instead. Good luck w/ you!

  • if u call the docotor he/she will yell at u. if u dun get the doctor the family will keep saying blah blah...Some families are very unrealistic, panic without reasons. This is only part of the nursing, think twice before deciding to go into nursing. Many ppl choose nsg b/c it's easy to find a job, and they come to work they just complaint.

  • it's not easy to be a nurse, nurses are often abused by the patients, family either verbal and sometimes physcial. If something happens, they always blame the nurses even though they didn't make the mistakes, the doctors are always right. and nurses are always in between the patients and doctors. families ask I want to c the doctor now! and u know the doctor won't come b/c it's not an emergency,

  • @cielq oh yeah, nurses really are heroes, they come closer to the patients than most of doctors, they have to deal with a lot from their own emotions to family and patients emotions too, and besides that their job aint any easy at all

  • im so thoroughly confused right now cos of the mix of extremely positive & negative opinions written here...arghh! i finish law school this yr & am thinking of going to nursing school, but am unsure if i should stick with law or do nursing

  • stick with law, nursing is ok, but law is fun. I'm stuck between becoming a stock broker and nurse. I'm a senior in hs, and I'm confused still have time to think about which career to do.

  • by "hs",do u mean "high school"?

  • @cl3angetaway stick with law

  • Myth. I graduated 5 months ago from a highly ranked nursing program from a major university in a major city. Guess what no job. I am almost about to pay my student loans with credit cards.

  • To all the nursing students out there and nurses who realize how HORRIBLE nursing is...leave! Save your time money and sanity. You will be mentally and physically abused and you will have nothing but bad memories and injuries to show for it.

  • Those who want to become a nurse have no idea what they are talking about. Get your ass in there and you will see the nightmare.

  • @ferrari4sale: Can you provide some examples?

  • Nurses are underpaid and unappriciated. We have to know what each MD wants and be able to understand each of their orders and how they will affect the other treatments ordered by other MD's. As far as the comment about RN's in CA making $75000/yr.....I hope so they have a horrible cost of living. The houses out there that cost $800,000 would cost me $70,000 in Ohio. I hope they get more!!!! People need to think before making comments like that. God bless all nurses!!!! I am a BSN, RN-BC

  • As a nursing instructor in an RN program i can assure you that the average RN does NOT make $75,000 per year....as a matter of fact the average Nursing Instructor starts at less than that, and that requires a Master's Degree. Some areas in the US where the cost of living is higher, the wages are higher, but it still evens out to be about the same income when you factor in cost of living in those areas. ("interesting man" you're exactly right).

  • it looks like its a lot harder to become a film presenter than a nurse :D)))... BTW are you married this young? That s pretty unusual

  • Bear, Im sure you know a lot of nothing about Nurses, Nursing or for this matter anything. Giving me low marks here has nothing to do with real life my little shit head 21 yr old. If you disagree then move out this country!

  • At a hospital like that...no RN makes 75k i promise you that! Probably about 45-50k. Travel Nurses are the ones making 65-80k (thats a hard life style constantly on the move)

  • Most nurses do not make that much. I've been an RN for over a year and my average pay is around $36k/year....with all the crap we have to put up with as RNs yes, we are underpaid...we work long hours, are underappreciated and have too many patients.

  • under payed, in california nurses can earn up to 50,000-75,000$ a year as an RN

  • You also have to look at the cost of living.....$50-75k in CA is around $35k in Virginia

  • this looks like a very nice calm private hospital , not a trauma //teaching facility

  • WTF is with YOU???? I am standing up for US.....this jackass is berating US...why on earth would you attack ME of all people? You clearly did NOT read the comments that asshole was saying...if you DID you would not be attacking me yeesh man :S

  • Wow. You really hate nurses THAT much?? Ok RETARD, next time you do get admitted into hospital, why don't you just request that no nurses look after you at all?? Then your case will go from serious, to a major case of DEADNESS without any overnight care from the people you supposedly hate. And just so you know, WE choose if we want to look after your sorry ass or not, NOT ANYONE ELSE. Thanks ALOT for giving me the incentive to individually choose to leave you there to die instead. JACKASS.

  • Oh really?? Think again you ignorant narrow-minded bastard...a paramedic just TAKES the patient to the hospital...nurses take care of the rest...asking a paramedic to care for you when you get into hospital is just wishful thinking buddy....they have better and more important things to do than to try to keep you alive overnight...which is why NURSES are there. Whats the matter? Traumatized from a nurse trying to kill you in your sleep or something? Too bad they didn't do a proper job at it...

  • What the fuck is your problem against nurses anyway? Did a nurse try to rape/kill/torture you as a child or something? Just because YOU can't handle the job that does not mean that you should go around seeking attention and directing your hate towards wonderful health professionals like nurses. Anyone who hates nurses can kiss my mother fucking ASS as far as i am concerned.

  • OMG. I am seriously AMAZED by your stupidity. You really need serious psychiatric help!!! Listen, you trashy uneducated unemployed LOSER. Whether you like it or not without nurses hospitals will CRASH AND BURN baby. I think a hot female nurse must have rejected your sexual advances, hence why ur taking it out on us. Can't say i blame her, ur probably just some unemployed uneducated loser who looks like a male but was born as a female. You just want what you cant have. Its ok dont hate. lol XD

  • Everyone knows how highly valued nurses are. You do not think clearly and logically by saying what you are saying so YEAH you DO need the help. My reaction is normal towards a dickhead like you. Its ok to hate lol...keep hating and be jealous lol XD

  • Like i said keep on hating and be jealous of the lack of physical attention you get....because we are FABULOUS once again lol XD

  • You keep dreaming as well...its ok not to admit that we are awesome lol...even tho u know it deep down lol.....here's your juice juice...ohh...whoops i threw it in your face and burned your eyes...too bad you hate us so much...if you didnt i would have helped you out...now you will have to clean it allll up on your own and sleep in your shit-filled bed...lol XD

  • Nah i hate to say it but that wont happen...you see in the psychiatris c ward (where you are) they have little video cameras where they film everything that the patients do...the doc will just see what uve done to attack me and that i threw the juice in your face as self-defense...the doc will drug you up sooo much that you will not be able to so much as BLINK...and i will just be assigned to another patient...and you will just be put on suicide watch...until you actually kill yourself...lol XD

  • ahahaha yeah sure....don;t tell people that you hate how to do their jobs lol so much for hating us...i dont need to look it up im studying nursing and i know a hell of a lot fucking more than you do...and thats not the case im afraid... the nurse can restrain the patient in self defense and even fight back if its to protect themselves...they will just strap you down like a little bitch that you are...drug you...and most likely put you in the maximum-security ward where you cant harm any1 else.

  • Get off your stupid bitch ass and get the juice yourself nurse LOVER lol XD

  • In your pea-sized deluded brain that is the case...nope....sadly for you legally I can easily walk out...it is in my legal right to refuse to care for you if there is a good reason behind it.....the worst that will happen is that I will be assigned to a different patient...which is FINE BY ME lol....doctors do not really have a say in it....hell...they don't even spend nowhere near as much time with patients as they do to care about your sorry ass.....most of them are in it for the MONEY.

  • GLADLY...and the next AWESOME nurse will say and do exactly the same thing until there are none left to care for you...you see...you may not be aware of it....but we are the FRONT LINE in medical care...docs and parameds dont really care about you...but we do..well supposedly we do...and by the time it gets to a point where there are no nurses left to care for you...its only a matter of time before you feel regret...and die from your medical condition added by your sheer blind stupidity...lol

  • hahaha lol you dumb fuck...in order to actually SUE somebody you need to know what they LOOK like first....how can you sue people who are not even around for you to identify....let alone identify them as AWESOME NURSES??? Fuck man you have reached an all-time LOW nobody can be as dumb as you are. NOBODY can save your sorry ass from your blind stupidity after all no matter what you try and do lol XD

  • Oh and you'll be DEAD by the time you try and sue anyway so whats the point?? Nothing to fear then because you are no longer a problem lol XD

  • If you respect me i will respect you. This is HUMAN NATURE NOT JUST NURSES. You think WE are uncaring??? Try the docs..they are WORSE..on a GOOD day...lol man you have NO idea at all...i do care for my patients but not for rude and ungrateful patients...if you were my patient i would not give a flying shit about you with that attitude..id gladly dig your grave for you. EVERYONE would say the same thing not just nurses you naive twat. I feel very sorry for you. Please educate yourself ok?

  • have to say tho, I've had patients who put call light on AS i'm walking out the door, or hand me my tissues that are 2" from their hand-again-RNs are mistakenly looked down on--I still give them my best care/respect. You are SO on point tho-you get an idiot doctor, your NURSE will save you. Get a stupid nurse, like 'displaced' auto-workers pushed thru 18month programs who never wanted to BE an RN,you are screwed.0 yeah, we're cute, nice, sweet and 10xbrains of the doctors-people need 2wake up.

  • @michiganurse11 Touched a nerve, huh Iceman?

Go fetch some ice chips, ye ol' bitch o' the hospital...

  • We are a BILLION TIMES worth more than you will ever be you naive retard. We SAVE lives. You just rant on ABOUT people who save lives every day lol. I am soo GLAD that the majority of the world population are smart enough to disagree with your twisted and delusional views. Docs appreciate us as well as the patients. Without us the hospitals will be overrun without any stability or support so ud better pray to GOD that a nurse picks up on your BP dropping dangerously coz a doc doesn't do that.

  • Nope you are WRONG AGAIN child. Without US docs will be sued left right and centre. WE cover THEIR asses to prevent that. They often get medication dosages wrong as well, and its our job to pick up on these potentially life-threatening/fatal errors. So keep you head up in the clouds and keep celebrating your stupidity. The time will DEFINITELY come when you WILL need US to save YOUR ass. Then you will put your foot back in your mouth as i made you do so time and time again you miserable dumbass.

  • I am PROUD to be a nurse and i do not give a flying SHIT what ANYONE ELSE SAYS. If they do not like it...well its like i said time and time again.....they can KISS MY MOTHER-FUCKING ASS.....its ok to hate.....because we medics are F A B U L O U S!!! :D

  • OHHHHH....i thought you were DONE with my "childish" insults...loool....yep...keep telling yourself that...keep dreaming...now go and lie dead in the street and wait for some miracle "non-nurse, non-doc, non-medic, non-hospital person, or ANY person" to save your ass from your stupidity CHOP CHOP!!!...i have a whip and its my JOB to whip little boys like you into shape..lol XD

  • You will be waiting another 600 YEARS for your juice....ok you know what? I will be nice and get you some juice...and put it on your grave stone at your funeral as a goodbye gift...lol XD

  • Oh wait....i can just pour the juice on your corpse even better loool XD

  • lol....hospitals are HUGGGGE...you are already blinded by your stupidity so how the fuck will you know which ward i am on let alone what i look like??? Filthy slave? You are a filthy slave to my comments already lol XD

  • @justarandomguy80 sorry but you're an idiot... if you wind up in a hospital, and if a nurse doesn't give a flying rats ass about you, guess what you'll beg for attention because the doctors are too busy with other patients. I'm not a nurse, but seeing your attitude towards other nurses shows just how you appreciate others. You'll die a lonely miserable death, i can see it already.

  • @MissDJ Thank God, because I'd rather have a competent person like a Doctor taking limited care of me rather than a nurse who stole their degree from a junior college. Anyway, thanks for the kind comments :D.

  • Um, let's not compare doctors w/nurses. They work together. I bet any doctor will tell you he'd be lost without a nurse, and vice versa. My point was, a doctor may have studied harder and longer, but its the nurse who works harder and longer.

  • @MissDJ You're right, I shouldn't be comparing competent professionals with some hospital bitch who got their degree at a junior college.

  • @justarandomguy80 lol get a life, and stop hating on people who don't even know you exist. what makes your opinion so important? maybe thats why you're so angry, because nobody knows or cares that you exist.

  • @MissDJ Apparently you care enough about my existence to banter back and forth with me on here.

  • @justarandomguy80 COMPETENT? I could tell horror stories of the countless deaths my co-workers and I have prevented from the hands of those competent professionals who don't know their ass from their ankles but apparently good test takers. I've watched the intelligence of graduating 'doctors' fall for years and I'd rather die at home than because of some dumass with Dr in front of his name. There are people who didn't even graduate highschool that are very intelligent-TITLES DON'T MAKE YOU SMART

  • @michiganurse11 Fetch me a cup of ice and some pain medication, ye ol bitch of the hospital. Know your role and stay on your low level of the totem pole.

  • @justarandomguy80

I don't want to start a fight with you, but I'm just saying, a lot of time nurses are the ones saving patients in emergency situations. The doctor(s) could be performing surgeries at the time of an accident, so it's up to the nurses to begin diagnosing, and "preparing" (putting tubes, CPR, & even performing minor surgries). I want to become a Nurse Practitioner, & I can make well over $100,000 a year. I'll have the ability to diagnose and treat patients without a doctor.

  • @jinkies0x Might as well go through med school then and become a competent heath care giver. Or you can just remain the bitch of the hospital and fetch ice chips and pain meds all day.

  • @justarandomguy80

Well, since I'm becoming a Nurse Practitioner, I was thinking that my specialty could be cardiac. I could help the surgeon during heart surgeries, and help perform minor ones. I'd still get paid a lot. I also want to work with pediatric cardiac care too. Nurse Practitioners are highly respected, actually, especially by doctors. It's way better than a Registered Nurse, and better too. We'll have 4 more years of education. I might just become a heart surgeon though...

  • @jinkies0x Key word there: "help"....

  • @justarandomguy80

Yeah, I know. I was thinking that I'll just become a Nurse Practitioner and my speciality will be cardiac. While getting experience from watching surgeries, and "helping" with diagnoses, etc., I'll also be going to school to possibly become a full heart surgeon.

  • @jinkies0x Yeah. I'd go with heart surgeon, not some hospital servant.

  • DAMN straight! work ccc/trauma,100s of times reported changes in pt condition disregarded by residents,or WRONG treatment-without me and other RNs to I.D. stupid answer when we hear it,go to other doctors 4proper treatment, patient=died, no question.Pt w/BP in 60s fluids open, while resident putting in cvc, refusing levo cuz he's gonna give em blood after the line's in-BS.Called head of trauma-got levo (wasn't even my pt)BP low b/c pt was bleeding int-levo got him to OR, survived it, lived.

  • DAMN straight! work ccc/trauma,100s of times reported changes in pt condition disregarded by residents,or WRONG treatment-without me and other RNs to I.D. stupid answer when we hear it,go to other doctors 4proper treatment, patient=died, no question.Pt w/BP in 60s fluids open, while resident putting in cvc, refusing levo cuz he's gonna give em blood after the line's in-BS.Called head of trauma-got levo-BP low b/c pt was bleeding int, levo got him to OR, survived it, lived.Save a patient-ignore fools

  • @justarandomguy80 I know my role, a-hole, and it's to stop arrogant, incompetant idiots such as yourself from harming patients. They're welcome, you're not.

  • not all nurses are jr. college, I know LPNs that are 20x smarter than half the doctors in our hospital. There are a handful of doctors I would consider going to-the rest, I've seen their work, no thanks.I've seen incompetant nurses cause many emergencies, but not half as many as the doctors. There are morons is every profession. You may get a dumb doctor, and live inspite b/c of your nurse-you get a dumb nurse, you're screwed. WE know when NOT to follow a stupid order, and how to get the right one

  • Sorry girl, but nurses are not highly valued. The hospital doesn't value them nor do doctors and the majority of patients.

  • Its ok to hate because we are F A B U L O U S.... lol XD

  • I want to be a nuclear scientist

  • I was not one to sit and be quiet like most students. My classmates told me privately that it was wrong for her to be treating me like that and these are females. My classmates are the ones who talked to the instructor about how I was feeling about her comments. The other males in the class had no balls. I could understand that. They had nothing else to fall back on. That is very intimidating knowing that they can dish out the abuse and you are not able to respond because you are scared!!

  • It's not the slap on the ass that pisses me off. It is being told that I do not deserve to be in the program by this fucking bitch. It is being humiliated in theory by this fat bitch. She was probably sexually abused by a male figure when she was young. The dean is hungarian. She has a PHD, but she is clueless. These MSNs that are working for her are running rough-shod over her. I opened up a real big can of worms. I went to speak at the trustee meeting. They know all, but they don't know me!!

  • I really want to be a nurse when i'm olderrr.

  • If I did not have a very good job that pays the same as a nurse I would have been hesitant to get out of the program. I have a very good job though which I will retire from in 5 years. I feel sorry for other students who do not have that option. The dean begged me not to drop out. I told her that she was running a zoo and one of her wild animals bit me. The administration knows that I will not be intimidated. During my meeting with the dean, police officers were just outside listening in.

  • After the criminal investigation is complete, I will be announcing all the nasty details. Why not? It's all going to be a matter of public record. Do you think she picked the wrong student to attack? My mission will be to destroy this MSN. Why on earth would someone with an advanced practice degree throw it all away on something so foolish? I don't really give a shit. When the dean asked me what I wanted out of this; I stated "JUSTICE!!!!!" I gauran-fucking-ty JUSTICE, no matter the outcome!!

  • How does a good old slap on the ass sound?

I tried over and over to figure out why and I continually came up with the same conclusion. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Clinical instructors have complete power and control over there students. She just picked the wrong motherfucker to abuse. She thinks she is gonna get away with it. I don't think so!!! Sounds like a good nclex ? What would you do if your clinical instructor sexually assaulted you on the floor? Crazy Huh?

  • I was a paramedic many moons ago. The material in nursing school is very easy to me. I never studied and aced the theory tests. My instructor found out I was not reading the text. She actually announced to the class that someone claims to have made it through fundamentals without opening the text. This infuriated her. She also mentioned numerous times that she was tenured which made her untouchable. I guess we will see about that. I hope some instructors are seeing this.

  • Many of these old school nurses with chips on their shoulder hate themselves and hate their jobs. After wiping bums for 20 years, they hate the fact that they couldn't have been doctors, lawyers, etc. Some take it out on students, worse yet patients. Most males won't put up with this crap, hence why there are almost no males in nursing.

  • Dude....i know that there are some HORRIBLE nurses out there...one of my clinical supervisors was the demon from HELL...she constantly harrassed me...but i was not going to let one botch get the best of me and drop out...you can sue her definitely its assault....and not all nurses are bad trust me i thought the same as you did a few months back....i love this field...those older nurses are a bunch of miserable, ignorant and uneducated dumbasses.

  • since when is harrasing okay in school? Why allow yourself to be treated that way? She was doing you a favor, you should have left. Save yourself and have a good life...do something respected. NO one will ever respect you if you wipe an ass for a living and find pride in taking a doctors order.

  • i like being a nurse, i'm sorry if you hate it. that's the good thing about nursing, there are so many avenues and different things to do. i'm a picc nurse, so i don't work on a floor. i don't wipe bottoms either, not tht i'm too good to do it, but i don't have to. i go in, place my picc, chart and leave. so that may be why i still like being a nurse 17 years later.

  • I'm a man nurse!! There are plent of man nurses in nursing actually. And also, I've only been a nursing student for a year and a half and I can tell you that there is ALOT more to it than wiping bums.

Nursing is an amazing job and already I have met some fantastic people and hear quite a few inspiring stories, in some ways nursing takes alot more intelligence than being a doctor... not knocking doctors at all! They are amazing too but there is a reason we have nurses along side them =]

  • wow you take the words out of my mouth!

  • I was in Nursing School. My experience was not good. I would have to say it was evil. My theory instructor was a chauvinist. She had big issues with males. I hated her sexist comments and she did not like it. She wanted me out of the program. She monitored me to see if I was cheating. She enlisted the aid of her friend, my clinical instructor. She was a bitch to me. During the 2nd day of clinical she sexually assaults me on the floor with everybody watching, including GOD. I got out quickly!!!!

  • Great Video. I've been trying to talk my 15 year old son into going into the medical field. Unfortunately he seems to have no interest.

  • EXCELLENT VIDEO

  • Great video, man! Good job!

  • i am so excited to become an RN =]

  • Is that in Medical Plaza Fort Worth Texas?

  • No it's Harris Methodist SW in Hulen

  • I want to become a nurse and am planning on studying next semester. is it worth it, is it hard? Any tips lol.

  • alot of studying stay focused.nothing worthwhilei seasy

  • Babiegirl, Oh yes, it is worth it. Leta is right, stay focused.

Again, as far as the "worth it" question goes,

For me, I cannot think of anything better as far as a career goes. A smile, a touch, a helping hand, words of comfort and a kind attitude goes a very, very long way.

  • That is all nursing propaganda. I'm trying to save you people from going into a misleading career. You will NOT have time to hold the hands of dying people while you run around doing everything for 9 very sick patients. Some patients will even abusive and disrespect you. You will wipe crap off of smelly bottoms. You will prolong the suffering of dying people. Only the DOCTORS can prescribe drugs to ease their suffering. You actually get to watch them suffer and take care of them until they die.

  • Wow, ReginaChick you seem incredibly bitter and angry. Well if you hate the nursing profession so much, then why are you watching this video? It seems like you are just trying to reinforce your bitterness.

  • Shes not bitter, shes being honest. To be able to get through nursing school one has to have low self esteem and low expectations

  • Regina, that is SO true. Nursing is built on a lot of propaganda and the selling of false hopes and dreams. It uses a lot of the same propaganda the military does(but people know how BAD the military is). Nursing is an ABUSIVE and SICK profession and anyone says they love being a nurse is either lying to you or they enjoy pain and abuse.

  • Hi babiegirl1987. Nursing is a GREAT. I am currently a student RN and I am really enjoying it. It is very rewarding and also VERY CHALLENGING. You need to be very good at medication maths and problem-solving. You also need 2 be good at adapting in very stressful situations and think critically. The doctors will rely on you HEAVILY 2 ensure that the patient's needs are met. In hospitals the doctors cannot do their jobs properly if the nurses can't remember that. Best of luck 2 u :)

  • that is so true!!!

  • You do know that 'medication maths' requires very BASIC math that anyone would know, right. Perhaps the odd ratio, very basic calculations. If you can't do grade 9 or lower math without struggling, admission standards for nursing school are pathetic. The worst is nurses who are taught that they are so high and mighty...yet look at their schooling...nursing is not that hard of a program if you are reasonably bright. But I guess *most* bright people don't become nurses...

  • You might actually be surprised by how confusing even the most basic maths are for some people....some people either are naturals at it while some need practise...thats just how it is...and i just happen to need a little practise with mine....

  • WOW....why don't you go through one semester of an accredited nursing school program and then tell me how "easy" it is. You are a joke!

  • @froboy0981 Hi, I agree with you.. but, who are you responding to in your post?

  • Join HealthCareMeetsDOTCOM greatest site for people like us.

  • well, to be a nurse, you have to learn to be... a furniture mover, plumber, mama, crying shoulder, garbage man, housekeeper, chief cook and bottle washer basically. but, the funny part is, i wouldn't change professions. there are things i would change about nursing, who wouldn't.

  • Where is the er!

  • emergency room

  • Sorry, I just did the I C U.

  • What's the music? I'd like to know.

  • The music is actually off the soundtrack of one of my favorite television shows on SciFi. Battlestar Galatica!

  • to be a real and good nurse the person has to love nursing...and i can garantee that no nurse in world will tell that nursing suchs...im nurse, i love my job and i wouldnt change it for any other job

  • My scrubs are a suit of armor!

  • i have noticed that men don't hit on me as much in scrubs as they did when i wore whites. they are sort of anti-sex. i love my scrubs and my crocs. you gotta love it, a job where you can go to work basically in your pajamas.

  • PJ's with a lot of pockets Not a croc guy myself, they tend to fly off my big ol' feet.

  • lots of pockets. and i still won't have an alcohol pad anywhere. oh well......

  • HELL YEAH lol thats soo true..and that is precisely WHY i want to specialize in surgery..pretty much because i can show up there wearing what i want and just changing into and out of scrubs every day hehe ;)

  • whats the point of wearing "pajamas" when you are sleep deprived from working 12-13 hour shifts? thats like torturing yourself

  • tell me about it. i just got off of a 12 hour shift. i'm exhausted, i've been home for about an hour or so, but i'm too wired to sleep. and i work day shift.

  • hahah i love the bloopers ♥

  • This seems like a much better alternative to my experience at UW. It seems like the nurses want to really help. Compare this to my experience in the video "Fatal Lab Accident Caught on Tape ! (Buckystein #5)" then work here.

  • Lol. Why not go ahead and interview some nurses and then post your video. Nursing is a two headed beast. On one hand you are making a difference. And then again on the other, you are simply trying to survive the wave of business, politics, ineffective coping skills and self centered clients. However,
