vitor could and probably will beat all the middleweight contenders in much more dominant fashion than anderson could but as soon as he faces anderson again he will lose, why? they are both counter punchers they prefer their opponents to attack first and exploit mistakes then make them pay, so when they fight eachother it will be both guys trying to counter the other guy wich is what happened in silva belfort 1, and 9 times out of 10 anderson will win that game.

@Gurpreet25 rush a counter puncher is exactly what you do just not in a move straight forward in straight lines kind of rush more like head movement and lateral movement and cut of the cage sort of rush, yes against a technical counter puncher its dangerous but so is standing in range of his punches and trying to counter anderson no 1 beats anderson at a counter punching contest bar a lucky punch, its either rush or stand at range and give him space to do stuff like a front kick to the face

Eh not really, it can work against certain fighters but later on the counter striker just adapts to the agg approach. I think what floyd sr said is correct, timing kills a counter striker. You want to get him out of his rhythm, actually some fighter have done well trading punches in the exchanges against silva like franklin and chael. Rushing into the strength of a striker isn't consider smart IMO.

Second fight, he was able to hit him but after that the second exchange, anderson head movement evaded everything lol. Chael didn't rush him with his striking, maybe you're thinking of one instance in the fight but the initial first round where he got rocked, chael didn't rush it. LOL uh huh, actually dan henderson didn't have success, he rushed him to clinch him and take him down. His only success was taking him down and praying on him. Rushing to the strengths of a fighter is idiotic

@Gurpreet25 dan henderson did have success he outsruck anderson in the first round in the 3 minutes they were standing, and everytime chael sonnen rushed he either feinted threw a punch or went straight for the double. Anderson is only human a counterpuncher is only human if you rush hi he wont 100% of the time catch you, especially if you dont give them time and space to work thier magic like i said rushing like leben is one thing rushing like chael is another. smart rushing not reckless

The thing is with the chael sonnen fight he also taunted him a lot even when rocked by placing his hands down very low, but paid the price with it. Fainting just helps my case because hes trying to strike him by timing. Remember with anderson, round 1 is just a feeling out process, and we all know what happened at round 2.

You used to be top 3 of my favourite fighters, I put all my faith in you to beat Anderson, but then, you fight like most agressive fighters use to fight when they do it for the belt, they try to fight intelligently, to follow a gameplan, but what they forget, is that what makes them successful fighters is their aggressiveness and rush fight, there is where you fucked it, you gave Anderson Silva the time he needed to read your moves and timing, then he knocked you out like he'd do to an amateur.
