  • smashing pumpkings la mejor banda del mundo.....

  • que hermoso

  • sus canciones son pura metafisica,,, desde el mellon collie

  • exelentes por siempre...........

  • As much as I love SIYL, this is probably my favorite SP song, and I really feel it should've been given some radio play

  • Machina > Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie

  • the best band ever

  • melissa looks like an man and james looks like an woman! and BIlLY CORGAN, awesome as always!

  • SUPERB.

  • It's at 2:00 where it starts for me

  • Melissa is such an awesome bassist!

  • This song live makes me want to cum.

  • radio play i of the mourning

  • Love the Danzig wristband on Melissa, lol! see 5:27

  • long live Billy Corgan

  • I can't believe this album did so badly it's one of my favourites.

  • Is that Melissa Auf Der Maur on bass?

  • @nineinchpinktool Yes, it is.

  • whats funny about smashing pumpkins is that billy corgan WAS smashing pumpkins...and yet...he cant attain his former glory on new smashing pumpkins

  • For some reason, this is my favorite SP song from my favorite SP album and the most played in the Media Player in my computer...

  • this tune is so shoegaze! i love it!

  • Love the frenetic energy of this video fueled by their performance. Even James Iha got into it which was a rare sight toward the end.

  • I made a cool video with this song,it matches it right on point.gotta see it

  • Love Billy's guitar work...

  • OMG the end is great... I wasn't that impressed with the begining this being a favorite of mine but wow did it build up ♥

  • smashing pumpkins plays my favorite songs.

  • You know, James Iha is a much better guitarist then Billy would give him credit for.

  • Absolutely Brilliant

You've gotta love that about Corgan's writing: atmospheric, which i love personally, and melodically pleasing, next to genius riffs and chord progressions. no matter how simple or complex Billy's songs are, they find a way to seap threw into your soul. He's the best alt-rock writer since Bowie.

  • billy. its time to save the musicverse. really.

  • uno de los mejores videos de Smashing grandesn por siempre!!!

  • Adore is imo clearly the best album artistically, but its not as _enjoyable to listen to_ as Siamese Dream, Gish, Mellon Collie, or Machina. Zeitgeist has like 4 songs I can tolerate, which is sorta the point, its driven by the singles, following the zeitgeist of the music industry...

  • @jettymichael You should try Stellar and Ma Belle and Death From Above from the Zeitgeist album.

  • Machina

    Adore = Mellon Collie

    Machina II

    Siamese Dream

    Gish

    Zeitgeist

    Teargarden

  • Sp's faves all of my time:

    Siamese Dream

    Machina

    Mellancholy and Infinite Sadness

    Gish

    Adore

    Teargarden by Kaleidoscope (may be)

  • Machina

    Siemese Dream

    Melloncollie

    Zeitgeist

    Gish.

    Way down here....Adore.

  • @Zinjonovicstrings Adore is near the top for me :D

  • @NoHeartAnthony You know, I've been listening to it a lot more recently, and I really start to like it more and more.

  • mellon collie

    siamese dream

    adore

    gish

    mashina

    sound track to life!

  • Oh my god, this brings back the first pumpkins shows I was a really a part of..This brings tears into my eyes. I will never forget the feeling of hearing this beautiful song and knowing that right after the show I would be taliking with Billy! Who is still my hero and forever my zero!

  • Ranking the albums? Oh fun!

    1. Adore

    2. Mellon Collie

    3. Siamese Dream

    4. Gish

    5. Machina

    6. Machina II

    7. Zeitgeist

I don't count PI or TAFH since those were really compilations. And, just for the record, I think all but "Zeitgeist" are brilliant.

  • MCIS

    Siamese

    Mechina

    Adore

    Gish

    Zeitgeist

    Machina 2

    Pieces Iscariot

  • Machina II

    Gish

    Siamese Dream

    Zeitgeist (with b-sides, American Gothic)

    Machina

    Adore

    PI

MCIS (Honestly, never really got it. Most of it to me is filler. Much better stuff on TAFH.)

  • This list might be completely different tomorrow, mind you.

  • mellon collie and the infinite sadness

    siamese

    gish

    adore

    machina

    adore

    zeitgeist

    machina II

  • In Order

1.Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness

    2.Siamese Dream

    3.Gish

    4.Machina I

    5.Pieces Iscariot

    6.Zeitgeist

    7.Adore

    8.Machina II

  • Oi,I'm new to The Smashing Pumpkins and am wondering if you guys can reccomend some of their other stuff to me.I'd greatly appreciate it =]

  • I'd start with Gish and go on from there. All of their stuff is great.

  • Listen to a lot of the Siamese Dream album, some of his greatest stuff. Disarm, Mayonaise, Rocket, Luna, Today. Gish is a really good album too.

  • and the greatest song in that S D album is CHErub rock..for me...

  • I agree haha. mm here Billy Corgan reminds me the singer of an animated band hiting strong here in Italy not being a million dollar production. Search for SWAVE IN THE FUTURE

  • Siamese dream is their best album I think, for pure rockness. Adore is really underrated, got some incredible songs on it! Siamese dream, melloncollie, and adore are their best albums IMO.

  • (sorry 4 my english)

First Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadnessthen you can go with Siamese Dream, then Adore, Machina II, Machina, and if you like it, obviusly you should search for Pisces Iscariot, Gish, and Airplane Flies High. The Pumpkins was/are a band who have a lot of amazing songs, event the ones who are not in a sepecific disc, for example some of the songs of Airplane Flies High or some rarities and B-sides are truly incredible (Hardly to think why it aren´t singles)

  • anything pre-machina and your golden

  • What? I agree with you on Zeitgeist, but Machina was an amazing album.

  • thats true but i wouldent recommend it for people who are only beginning to listen to the S.P, i'd wait until they appreciate the other stuff THEN recommend this

  • Machina is my favorite album!!

    Its beautiful!

  • @jaetguz machina was great, but if you think it's better than siamese dream or mellon collie than you're just silly.

  • @musicforchewfaygs I can put it this way.

Siamese Dreams was a sophomore album...therefore it should be certainly experimental....

Mellon Collie is the pumpkins' most "Grandiose" album to date. 2 Cds plus a long list of very good songs. It's just their epic moment.

But Machina is musically brilliant. To me, it grabs all the best production that Mellon Collie lacked. To me, even Siamese Dreams has better production than Mellon.

    But that's just my opinion.

  • Again like I said, in Quebec, spotlights, cameras, stage is always well used.. this was not made exclusively for the band but I want you to notice how this gives energy to the still excellent smashing pumpkins performance

  • i guess this proves why Smashing Pumpkins can nvr rly die out. Billy is so extraordinary and just....brilliant. he changes so much in every live performance and in a way, reinvents the song he`s playing completely, no one really knows what he`s doing, but everyone loves it, which makes him one of the best lead singer and songwriter of this century!

  • agree :D and love it!

  • hell yeah best ever!!!

  • Never die out? are you a fucking idiot? Billy died out 10 yrs ago lol barely gasping for air now. Couldnt even keep jimmy in the band lolol

  • bullseye.

  • the whole band looks so good in this vid. i love the song, the pumpkins and especially THIS VERSION!

    great ♥

  • This is the best version I have ever heard!! They are so creative on live!!

  • Agreed!!!

  • Does anybody else think that this may be played in a different key than on the album at some points? It sounds like some pieces are played a little higher and it's really neat. Anyway, this just proves how terribly amazing the Machinas really were; the music really has been dismissed far too quickly since Adore.

  • some of the best live sp ive ever heard

  • i like james iha in this execution! really a shoegazer!

  • Comment removed

  • this is fucking amazing

  • I think that their new songs are not as good as this one and the old ones, but I still love them, Billy Corgan is the greatest songwriter ever. I love this song, the lyrics and the music are killer and so passioned

  • Corgan has the best voice ever.

  • Most expressive and artistically used perhaps... That's why he's my favorite singer, because he uses all of the different timbres of his voice to create different moods. Every time I hear a new performance I hear how he's adapting the song to the moment he's in. That changing voice helps reinvent the song.

  • @falcoperegrinus82 And a master guitarist to boot

  • Unreal.. full of energy.. the whole song was/is amazing.. and the outro is insane. i love their first albums (Gish, Siamese Dream), but their new stuff is amazing too. Machina, Zeitgeist.. those are great albums. Smashing Pumpkins are alive. and this song is not a cover of Joy Division's "Transmission".

  • Such a beautiful song!!

  • AMAZING! Intense too!

  • terrible cinematography. send that camerman back to mtv.

  • no itds not a cover. they DID a cover of them. this is an original song

  • well, new order did ask billy to tour with them. it's not that absurd to call this an homage to transmission, and also on the radio by cheap trick and radio radio by elvis costello.

i of the mourning certainly belongs in the same category.

  • I prefer the live version of this song from the original. But I think this song is amazing and I love the lyrics, the bass lines and Billy's voice!

  • word up! long live mr. corgan!

  • HELL YEAH!!!!

  • Perfect song and voice from Mr. Corgan, one of the best of the world forever!!!!!

  • beautiful song! ever..

we're gonna play this song too. I've already posted many covers, all of the pumpkins songs.

  • Smashing: Lo Mejor de lo Mejor por siempre!!!!

  • The end of this song is just sooooooo good, though i dont know i prefered the real song over this one.

  • I absolutley love this song!! Ever since I heard it I've loved it.

one question though: Does anyone else find Billy's dimples ridiculously cute???

  • i'd hardly call it energetic. They look pretty bored. Pinkpop '94. That was energetic. Still great show though.

  • I wish people would fucking stop wishing for repeats

  • What is he playing? a Les Paul Junior?

  • Billy's playing a Gibson Les Paul Special. I think he might have had two of these around the time this was filmed. One in standard tuning (E) for this song, and one tuned down to C for songs like "The Everlasting Gaze" and "Heavy Metal Machine"

  • i love the face of billy when he sings...thanx to exist ...my favourite song ever

  • RADIO!!!!!

  • for me is the best song of The Smashing

  • Por roleas como esta Smashing son una de mis bandas preferidas!!!! Billy Corgan uno de los mejores a nivel mundial!!!!!

  • que subidón!!

  • muy buen tema..

  • i like how James always has a laid-back and almost bored style, but his playing rocks

  • great video!!!

  • Billy´s face at 3:22 always makes me smile!

One of the best Pumpkin´s songs ever, it´s a shame they didn´t put that ending in the song on MACHINA record although they often perform it with this ending, maybe they came up with it later on... Anyone who knows?

  • i think they came up with it later, like thee solo at the end of Today

  • Great lyrics

  • excelente video!!!!!!

  • i love

  • i think i love billy....no, i know i do!!!

  • hey thats a brilliant show

  • This music is amazing. SP forever!

  • perfect!!!! the best of the best MR. Billy Corgan!!!!1

  • Smashing Pumpkins is the best band ever. All categories. I love everything they've made since Gish to Zeitgeist. Melissa is the best bassist ever, just so you know.

  • sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! God bless em :)

  • son lo mejor

  • one of my favourite songs

  • Am from philippines and i love Smashing a lot.. like the way they create music..

  • this is by far one of the best songs they ever did live.

  • billy looks healthy here.. *sigh*

  • What do you mean? Is'nt he healthy then?

  • The magic that came from Iha and Corgan is priceless. The backing ebow tracks James created were genius. I will miss him but eh, its all about the Corgan right now

  • People will always argue which lineup was better, but in reality all of the different lineups have been awesome. From the original 4 to the Auf Der Maur and Ginger Reyes days to the Iha / Schroder days...My message to all that bitch about whos better, who gives a fuck. The Byrds changed lineups, Guns N Roses, Metallica, they all do it.

  • They don't "all do it"...

Original line is best and you knows it.

  • i dont understand why emos hate billy corgan, he fucking created their music so they can take a deep gulp and swallow his balls otherwise their shit wouldn't even exist

  • but, if i'm corretct, it was just billy and jimmy on siamese dream, billy played all the guitars and bass

  • for real????????

  • Iha is a great guitarist, but Billy wrote all of his parts. Billy and Jimmy are the only two members that are really needed. It would be great if the other two came back, but Billy and Jimmy are the most important.

  • for craps sake, i still to this day do not know why there are so many Iha fans, Iha can't write songs for shit. And his singing of "A Night Like This" show how to butcher a good song. He was a good lead guitar player but I don't miss him mainly because there are so many Emo fags out there that think he is better than Corgan. Did Iha the Fag write Galapagos? Bullet With Butterfly Wings? Disarm? Hummer? Rocket? Cherub Rock? In The Arms Of Sleep? Everlasting Gaze? I Of tThe Mourning? No.....

  • I'm not defending Iha, and I do agree his "A Night Like This" kills the amazingness of The Cure version, but he does deserve respect for the work he did.

  • Iha was good, and suited the pumpkins well. But he still should get handed the crown just because a few Emos hate Billy Corgan. Nobody should hate Billy, he wrote good songs. Many bands have had many lineups. Its a fact of life. Look at The Byrds for example, what they started with was not what they finished with.

  • I don't hate BIlly Corgan, he is brilliant....however he was in Zwan.

  • Hey man, i don't care who is in the band as long as they write good songs...and if billy has written like 90% of the good stuff I can live with iha. No offense iha's great, but it all comes down to the song writing.

  • what an insanely awesome performance. pumpkins rule

  • james iha is god!!

  • i like it when billy had hair without it he scares me. lol

  • 07/07/07 cant wait. so is there confirmation that Iha really is not coming back? i can deal without D'arcy but a Smashing Pumpkins album without Iha is not a Pumpkins album.

  • agreed.

  • yeah there coming back without iha and darcy which just isnt the same

  • fucking amazing...

i think this is possibly the best song written within the past 20 years.

  • smashing pumpkins are comming back, they are going to start recording songs in the summer, i know cause i looked on there website

  • pls come back

  • I still cant get enough of this video.

  • Me neither! I love this band and I had totally forgot about this song. I found it again at a perfect time!

  • what the rubbish

  • There is NOTHING that can compare to the Pumpkins. Greatest band on earth. Machina I and II are great albums, everyone should have them!

  • Oh how I miss the Smashing Pumpkins. Nothing quite like them.

  • best...video...ever

  • this outro is so good that i find it weird they never put it on the album. I remember corgan saying that some parts he wanted in the album never made it to production...wonder if this outro was part of that?

  • they tend to extend their more upbeat songs live, its amazing. Zwan did it with 'Honestly' too, makes the live shows that much more awesome

  • One of the very few live shows, where corgans lack of voice isnt that annoying:D

    Love them anyway

  • best live version of this song ive ever heard for sure
