wow that Simp 725 fired right off with a simple pull but man is she in rough shape , do yah got a seat pan for her man? let me know i still have a spare layin around and a couple odds and ends from that parts simp i got!
Thanks, after looking at it i found a spring that was pulling it into reverse quicker and not letting it go into full forward. So good to go now thanks again.
The later models are not my cup of tea, but it sounds like a simple adjustment on the engagement lever is needed to equal out the throw. Those Sunstrand hydro trannys are pretty easy to adjust. Just lift the seat pan, jack the back of the tractor off the ground, start it and observe the movement of the linkage when going from forward to reverse and adjust the rod so you have more forward action. This should give you a faster forward speed and slow reverse to normal. Good Luck!!
Hello, nice tractors. I just picked up an old Allis-Chalmer 712H. Everything works good but when i put it in reverse it feels like a turbo kicks in. Forward doesn't seem to have the same git up and go. Can you tell me if that seems right. Thanks for any info you can give me.
great vid Sean i still say i should have one of those tractors. ha lol you keeping them all runing like a top shit i bet they run better then a brand new mower. how you doing buddy?
@boonecrew54 Heya Shaun! Things here are progressing at a snails pace, but at least I'm not going in reverse. I like a good running engine! I've got a couple that have been tucked away in a corner for the past 5 years that I think I'll pull out and tinker with. Both are vertical shafts, which is why they've been sitting. All my applications use the horizontal except for the 728 Broadmoor, and that was an easy freshen up. I'm hoping this one 15hp I/C engine I have is a good runner. We'll see!
@ZippoVarga good lucky with that buddy. if you can at all make some vids of it like when you get it in i would like to see how you set it up in the tractor.
@boonecrew54 I'm not planning on putting it in anything. I've never ran the engine. It was a part of a trade for some work I did. I'll make a video of it running though!
@chromlic Well...If I were to average it out over the years I've paid about 150 bucks on average per tractor. Some I pay more for, some are actually freebies. The most I've spent on one tractor is $400.00 and it's paid for it self over and over. Never a moments trouble from it and it's all original with nothing having been rebuilt or repaired except for normal wear things. Of the tractors I have now, two were free and two others, nearly free.
Until I got the AC-Delco rebuilt. I spent a year or two hand starting the Landlord. But,
I used the front take-off pulley. I did not have a starter cup on this when I bought It. I do have one now from the B-10, now I can't use it because I converted to a coil ignition. Isn't that always the way things go???
@wingnut128wi We can't forget our friends and the help they give us my man!! I had a ton of people stop and ask where to get tri ribs like that and even with Miller Tire there at the Portland show I directed everyone to KMorrow on ebay. His service is top notch and he stomps Millers prices into the mud. Thanks again for a deal that worked out great for both of us!! Where's the video of your LL with it's new skins?
@CSAKvids Heya my great buddy across the lake!!! How are you doing Charles?? I should have taken the seat cover off the old Landlord and exposed the new old stock seat under it!!! I totally spaced it......But it is VERY cushy with the new old stock seat and that thick padded seat cover. That old 725 is beckoning.....it wants me to pay it some attention even though I sold the seat pan off it...lol. It may get done yet...but the wheels I got for it I LOVE on the old Landlord. Time for another set
Nice fleet of tractors! I sure could make good use of that leaf vacuum, but I guess I'll have to make do with my rake.lol Gun show this weekend, I'll be looking for a Pug. I love that bayonet you have! :)
@robbie574 Heya Robbie! Yep...with three acres, a rake isn't very practical. Especially with my bad spine. You'll love the pug. It's my main daily carry and I don't even know it's there. When you're ready for a holster, head over to the NAAMini web sight and join their chat forum. There you will learn about MadHat leather and how to contact him if you decide to place an order. His prices are very reasonable and his work and tooling is unsurpassed. The bayonet gets a lot of attention at the range
I'm never bore when I.m looking at sweet tractors like that. I've been toying with the idea of doing up a set of stacks for my tractor. It's a newer one though ('06) but I think it would sound great with twin stacks.
@fordfanatic100 Take a listen to my 16hp twin Briggs video. They DO sound sweet rumbling along. It's the Slightly Modified Wheel Horse video. My first I think..lol. Thanks for chattin!!!
Man I tell you what Zippo when those seats fall down they are nasty, mine almost cut my finger off the other day when I was hooking up the mower deck. Very nice gun and always love the tractors buddy.
@bcarbaugh Hey, thanks for the comment and Yes.....those seat pans are Heavy and dangerous! Fortunately all I've ever hit with one is my knee. But it still sucked!!
As odd as it may sound, that gun you showed looks similar to the size of the gun that John Wilkes Booth used when he shot Abe Lincoln in the ford theatre in 1865. But anyways thats a cool gun and holster, but your tractors are really badass! i always enjoy your machines. Between yellow, orange, and a bit of green, yellow is the best haha (only because i only have yellow AC's) lol
@tractormandale Hey Dale!! Thanks for the compliments on the fleet! I know only one looks to be yellow, but Ugly-Alice is also a B-10. She's just wearing parts from a ton of other similar machines. I would like to add another Allis to the collection. Hopefully one that's in real good original shape like the old Landlord. Take it easy my Friend!!
@ZippoVarga Its too bad you don't live in Iowa, I know this guy with alot of Allis Chalmers tractors for cheap. And most are complete. He is holding 3 for me. Are B-1's rare? he will give me all three for $200. They come with attachments!
@tractormandale The B-1s are the first Allis made 4 wheel tractor. Their Simplicity counterparts are the 700s and 725s made before 1964. I'd say that's a great price!!!!
@Simplicity885 I made another fleet video back in March that I had forgotten about. Not much has changed except for the 3416H being replaced with the Hoss. Looking forward to seeing your fleet vid Bro!!!!
