  • Kaja had their own string of hits too .

  • This song was in the new Ghost Rider movie! It's true!

  • Boy that is one ugly chick! ;)

  • 90's>80>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>2000's

  • I used to pull off to the girl in this video all the time.

  • 2:08 Paris Hilton OMG!

  • who???

  • he really was pretty and has aged v well

  • ADELE???? HAHAHAH

  • THE 80'S ROCKED TALENTWISE, STYLEWISE and DECADANCEWISE!

  • You are so right. the 80's and the 70'2 were the best.

  • @BettinaBalser I totally agree :)

  • amen to the 80s

  • He has Pikachu hair

  • BettinaBalser I totally agree with you.

  • people need to realise what an incredible bass line this song has, its pure genius

  • @zenburger

He's totally right on... I listen to this song for the bassline. Always have.

  • Ponies

  • @Darkmatter28031 yes ponies /)

  • judgedreadmusic

  • super

  • 48 people were too shy to press the LIKE button..

  • I just love the U.K.

  • Limahl is SO SEXY!!!!!

  • @Squeaky1423 agreed :D

  • Sorry , to bylo 28 lat temu ...

  • YESSSSSSS.

    I love this song. ;D

  • classic 80's british music ahh the memories :)

  • I must have had a thing for British bass players when I was a teen, Nick Beggs & John Taylor. I still have this album & a 12" of Hang on Now :) Glad I kept my records.

  • I love the way they made all the band members wear make up and fancy hairstyles, but you can see it didnt suit any of them. You see this often in bands from the 80s and its usually only the lead singer who can get away with it because the other members are usually not pretty enough haha

  • There was less of a marketing effort to be profound as to if whether or not the musical source was gay or straight, or other. We used to enjoy music without having to personally identify with the mind or sexual preference of the person behind it.

  • Love the bass intro.

  • the anthalogy

  • I always remember driving around in Washington while my mom played this in the car.. It brings back memories of all the parties and everything... This era of music was the best!

  • This song takes me back ! I remember all thoes endless hours of Mtv , just getting out of the swimming pool and turning on Mtv seeing this vid. It was good for its time, I was around 14 when it was a new song. Thoes were the days .......

  • Love this song!!! I see Paris Hilton at 2:08...lol

  • You younger people here on YouTube cannot even begin to possibly imagine how wonderful The Eighties were. It was a FANTASTIC time to be young. Our music was incredible. Take a Google search of what was on our Top 40 and compare it to today. I am not saying this to be snotty. I am saying this because I believe that you deserve so much better for yourselves.

  • @BettinaBalser

Truer words were never spoken :D

  • @BettinaBalser

I know. I was showing my friends all these 80's music videos and stuff, and they were like "Oh my god this is so weird!" I don't understand them. The 80s was like the coolest! All my fav stuff was in the 80s. Lol. When i showed them this, they were like, "KAJAGOOGOO?! WHAT THE HECK?!" Seriously? and they aren't weirded out by "Lady Gaga?!?!!?!?!?!!"

  • @BettinaBalser AMEN, 80's gal, AMEN!!!!!

  • @BettinaBalser _ I agree with you 1000%!!!

  • @BettinaBalser totally agree :)

  • @BettinaBalser Its a good comment but let the kids have their time...in 25 or 30 years time,im sure their stuff will seem just as magical

  • @philofdarwen haha you wish!

  • @philofdarwen That would be strange since it doesn't even seem magical now. I'm not trying to make myself sound "hip" or anything, but being 18 I can't stand today's chart music. It's all the same; a little bit of mediocre rapping and some shitty auto-tuned chorus, which is always about either love or sex. Most of it seems like it's been made for clinical idiots or really young children. I seriously don't know where the downloads are even coming from...

  • @BettinaBalser You are so right!!!!!! I was a teen then....none of this crap they have now can top this!!

  • @BettinaBalser makes you wanna cry...it is maddeningly sad...=(

  • @BettinaBalser Not really a valid argument, music changes with time, we live in the future now, while the 80's might have been fun for you, i'm almost sure that every generation have said their era was better just because they were there...people growing up in 60's would say its better than 80's, and people growing up in 70's would probably argue the same. 80's music can't compare to singers like adele, she blows them out of the water, as would be expected.

  • @XBezerkerX No one blows anyone out of the water, music is great from country to pop, rock and R&B from all decades I love music from every decade just none of that bad rap or stuff that makes you want to hurt something.

  • @XBezerkerX Please. Sighting one singer who has had one hit hardly wins the argument, unfortunately. Besides, Alison Moyet came well before Adele - the 80's, in fact.

  • @Enricom23 At the beginning of the awards they asked Kylie Minogue who she think has a bright music career ahead of them & she almost couldn't answer you should have seen her face it was so funny.. then I changed the channel, didn't care to see any embarrassing performances by Beyonce, Rihanna or any of those untalented stippers.. I think all the decades back in those years were real music compared to any 21st century crap.. It even makes all the stuff I thought was just ok back then better

  • Comment removed

  • @BettinaBalser You tell 'em.I grew up In the 70 and 80's..And miss them both alot.I enjoyed all the music back then. And I miss being young again.

  • @BettinaBalser Amen.

  • @BettinaBalser have you ever thought why they call it "The Eighties" ?

  • @BettinaBalser could not have said it better. it was a kaleidoscope time of infinite variety, neon nights and technicolor wonder. when music could transport you to faraway lands, where writing and production quality was at its peak and anything was possible. cut to 2012 and where is that feeling today..

  • @travis122imdb Amen, brother. It was a time when a kid could totally be into metal, yet respect and even like college rock, Top 40, and R&B. From about 1986 on, I was a kid who listened primarily to alternative music, but I still knew every single song in the Top 40 and even liked most of them. Kids today don't get handmade flyers for shows starring their best friend's brother's band in someone's garage. It's without feeling, this "music" today. A real shame.

  • @BettinaBalser Well said!!! :))

  • @BettinaBalser as a 15 year old, I wish I were alive in the 80s :(

  • just found this for the wiff - she's in seventh heaven now reminiscing......!

  • oh the days of my local pub with all my mates jukebox collection for the night and just enjoying ourselves - no mad stupid binge drinking, fighting and throwing up just pure enjoyment

  • This damn song is a little addicting...

  • @brothacoffee u got the right i havent watch this in like almost a year and now i want to watch it everday! live on kajagoogoo live on

  • philaman1972, you just described my summers of that era as well...

  • I still dance to this..... lol

  • Man you could not go anywhere without hearing this song back in 1983. Not to mention this video which was all over MTV when it first dropped.

  • A great song from my teenage years!

So glad i grew up in the 80s.....lifes a lot harder for kids now!

  • Listen to the slap guitar in the intro and the interlude. It seems to me that slap guitar is rare amongst modern guitarists. What he plays goes very well with the bass slap, and the bassists style.

  • @MrDanielEng That bassist is Mr. Nick Beggs

  • Damn she is hot!

  • I once saw something more gay than these guys. But to be fair it was a guy fucking another guy in the ass.

  • @vercheck Did it turn you on?

  • ah, now i see that it was Kajagoogoo that was shy as well. What could have made such shy people in my generation or has it always been?

  • Boy we Generation X-ers were lucky: Saturday morning cartoons, Steely Dan, Led Zeppelin, etc., 1970s music during childhood, Duran Duran, Kaja etc., 1980s music during our teens, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Dee-Lite during our twenties, and now YouTube today to go back and visit it all! Young people watching now: you can make your era just as happy.

Take back control of it from the corporations, read art books, smile, love life, and GO OUT TODAY AND MAKE SOMETHING. Love, 43 year old me :)

  • The 80s were great. I now realise that it was an honour to have been around then.

  • A lot of young people these days dress up like these dudes!

  • i remember my chopper bike and playing kick the can, my kids just look at me now like im stupid when i tell them wot we played and did

  • Fluttershy is best pony.

  • those smoky nightclubs, lol. i almost died a few times. All in good fun.

  • stupenda

  • So Thankful I got to PARTY MY ASS OFF in the 80's!!! No Regrets!!!

  • denzel washington sold out after st elsewhere

  • @ChillyChillBrooknam9 so did your mom..your mom sold out by sucking dick in her project building.i heard they called her superhead

  • Yes, back to -80ś...

  • A day will not go by when I don't love this song

  • super

  • Was always this way around him! My heart would start pounding & I would never have the right thing to say!

  • I literally can't stop dancing when I hear this song, no matter how hard I try!! And it kind of sucks 'cause i'm at work and there are customers around!! Oh well. =)

  • This song it´s a stupid pop song ... but damn !! it's funny and makes me dance !!

  • that beginning 45 seconds could be sampled in a rap song

  • @uhavepuppytoes73 ...and it probably will be! LOL!

  • I hated the 80s @ the time actually, dident particually like my childhood...school etc,and yet, I strangely feel the need to go back there

  • Trying to bite off of the Culture Club only get's you so far.

  • @Catchyounexttuesday i see what you mean but i think this song is stronger than anything culture club did

  • love this song - but wasn't this a one hit wonder band as they let the lead singer go(?) they were proven wrong they couldn't make another hit without him---?and Kajagoogoo-how mysterious?

  • This song had a very soft, indescribably wondrous feel, with the initial, melodic flowing bass line and the brght-sounding rhythmic guitar riffs. What most especially appeals to me about this song is that it was popular when I was a shy senior in high school, making plans to attend a local, U.S./Mexico Border university. In spite of the fact that this band was a one hit wonder, this song has musically all the elements of vintage, pop eighties music. Too Shy Shy will always endure as a great song

  • hahaha at age 15 I have a crush on nick

  • Nagyon szeretem!!

    I like it!!

  • I bet those who were alive like me in 1983 even though I was born in 1985 remember how easy times were. Reagan was in office and life was sweet minus the cold war and all the negativity. God bless Reagan and his way of doing things.

  • This song will always remind me of my childhood - being 11 in 1983 and living life without a care in the world. Riding my dirt bike to wherever, playing games on the Atari 5200, collecting baseball cards, collecting lightening bugs, playing wall ball baseball, stick ball, and practically anything and everything else outside, pool hopping, Solid Gold, Fri. Night Videos, and then coming home as soon as it got dark in the summer time. It was the best!

  • @philaman1972 same age myself and could relate...it was great...

  • @philaman1972 that was the good old days . Too bad I was born in 1990 but Im stuck in the 80's

  • @philaman1972

Same age here: 1972. Life was good and stuff ruled. in the 80s.

  • @philaman1972 Man you hit that on the nose! I wish I could go back in times, at times. :)

  • that was it, (the magic)

tell me young people is life like that now?

  • @philaman1972 for me it was :This song will always remind me of my childhood - being 13 in 1983 and living life without a care in the world. Riding my dirt bike to wherever, playing games on the commodore 64, playing soccer , and practically anything and everything else outside, swimming, and then coming home as soon as it got dark in the summer time. It was the best!

  • @philaman1972 I AGREE WITH YOU FRIEND! IN 1983 I WAS 15 AND USED TO DANCE IT AT DISCOS... NOW FOR THE FIRST TIME I CAN SEE THE VIDEO. THANKS!

  • ,,you lucky little crap, I was 15 and still used the 2600, but the new companies provided better graphics on their cartridges, let me know if you want to sell your 5200, I never cared much for Nintendo.

  • Gdzie jestes Agatko ? Z tej strony Tomek z Podstawowki. Pamietasz nasiadowki przy Kruczej?Dalej jestes moja first love :))) odezwij sie jezeli mozesz , wiem ze to byla Twoja ulubiona piosenka :) Pozdrawiam 23 lata pozniej:)

    Tomek

  • I considered this just a catchy pop tune when it came out but then I met the bass player recently playing with Steve Hacket ex genesis guitarist and I understood that this riff is actually very clever with a syncopated beat...a great composition:)

  • Is that... Limahl????

  • @soundgardener75 Yeah it is Limahl!

  • Base line, base line baseline! <------

  • Olet vanhempi minua, joten et selvästikään arvosta kasaria. Ei se mitään...kommenttisi oli sen verran upea, että saat anteeksi...Kajagogoo lifts the spirit up instead !

P.S. Sorry 4 my mute channel

    P.S.2. LONG LIVE THE EIGHTIES

  • Viasat History brought me here.

  • this song makes me feel bi

  • ministry work for love

    kajagoo too shy

human league do you want me baby

    are my favorites from 80's

  • If any of these cats walked down the street in my neighborhood today, they'd get the snot beat out of them just 'cause they way they look. In the '80's though, they were glam and chic. I love the tune, but thank God that wearing girl clothes and having big hair like these guys is 30 years behind us !!!

  • @esauerkraut The half-bald headed/buzzcut bullshit of today looks goofy and dorky.

  • we've got kevin bacon over there on drums

  • reminds me ofsummerof 83 in atlanta what a time very catchy song

  • You can certainly hear the Nick Rhodes (Duran Duran) influence on this track!

  • this songg...i will forever be entwined with the light revealed in the 80s music

  • Also, How has Limahl got younger between 83 and 2012.

He should be 30 odd years older and looks younger now than he does here!

  • Haven't heard a bassline like that since Gary Numan's Music for Chameleons.

  • Man i wish i lived in the 80's fuck i just wanna take a time machine back in time to 1984!

  • @999MichaelMyers999 really an awesome era

  • @ditimely u grew up in 80s? lucky

  • Comment removed

  • 3:21 That view is tremendous.

  • So Epic ( from Greece )

  • I so miss the 80's.

  • God, I grew up in the biggest cheeseball era of music. 80s definitely had their own identity.

  • At the time i thought they were all about the image but they're actually good musicians. I never noticed Limahl was barefoot btw xD

  • I work a midnight shift, and I cut this song on at work when i'm getting tired because when I hear it I can't help but dance!!

  • the 80s were a awesome time to be a teenager, I didnt appreciate it then, boy i wish i would of

  • @kplay88 feelin you on that one....I was so busy trying to be "grown up" I didn't take time to enjoy growing up....I hated admitting that to my folks!! Now my kids will probably come to me one day with the same lament! *sigh*

  • @kplay88 Apparently you didn't bother to learn proper grammar either...

  • as épocas são boas para se viver desde que se viva nelas....quando se é adolescente só se pensa em deixar de o ser e isso dá cabo de tudo....

  • @kplay88 DITTO!!

  • I owned this 12" remix record and lost it!

  • Limahl of future Never Ending Story fame.

  • All these years I thought that was a girl singing...That is a girl isn't it? LOL!

  • ok so...

9:28PM 1/19/2012. I could go out and try to meet new girls.

Should I do it? Or should I stay to shy shy?

:) If anyone replies I swear I'll go out and live it up.

  • Wooooooo, this music video has so many views! I remember when this video only had like 500 or 600 thousand views. Love this song

  • This is one of those bands I thought a bit silly (both their name and image), but still actually recognize them as part of the 80s landscape- so, that kind of makes them cool.

  • PONIES The Anthology brought me here!

  • Do I spot a Simmons drum kit? Oh yeah!

Great bass line. And it looks like Nick Beggs was playing a Wal bass. Style!

  • this song was #1 on the day i was born

  • i llllooooooove this thank you limahl and guys

  • Sigh...so cute.

  • O my God His hair is AMAZING :P

  • smooth

  • Like it now, wanted to commit a hate crime on his ass at the time. Good times, good times.

  • The Anthology
