I hate what white man has done, just pure ignorance and arrogance to think their way of live is better, lets hope the native peoples' way of life is not lost, I kind of think we will all have to return to it in the future, if we are to survive.
@Jaysongwriting101 Im so pleased to hear that Yothu Yindi are/ were Brilliant Mandawuy the lead singer is sadly now a very sick man,due to ill health he had to stop performing in 2007 :( he is a beautiful person with a beautiful spirit
Well said SudoJudo1. Straight from the heart, a place where a lot of us have forgotten how to speak from. There is so much to learn from the oldest culture in human existence. People of the land, at one with mother earth in mind, body and spirit. One love brothers and sisters
fabulous video~thankyou~i love this song~ an old friend of mine Sue who lived in the rainforest of Queensland sent me a tape of this band with this track on many years ago~peace love and gratitude
So many dick heads post comments about Yothu Yindi. But if they really knew what it was all about. I tell u what, if u need to be told then u will never understand. But those not from Australia feel free to ask.
Great song this is. I remember that SBS here showed this video clip quite often for many years during program intervals (before they introduced ads within programs)
i have a grandmother and grandfather in dream time that have helped me heal when i was under my spirit initiations and they are alive in australia somewhere and i wish i could thank them in this waking dream but my initiations from spirit are all finished, so wherever you are my grandmother grandfather those few months i send raven from the northwest to deliver my prayer of thanks to you
WOW thanks qualqui, I enjoyed listening to this vid. I gonna view the other two you just mentioned. Thanks MitchMiller123 for posting. Your vids are 5/5
I was mesmerized when I listened to this song. Its beautiful and touches the heart. It is evolved from mother earth and exhibits the native culture. Does anybody know the exact meaning of this song? Hats off to Yothu Yindi.
All those who put down the Aboriginals of Australia are just showing their own ignorance - unless you walk a mile in their shoes, you have no real idea, and therefore are not qualified to comment. Remember your Tribal Voice! Be proud!
Why should they?? History is moving on .. The ancient knowledge and powers are being lost..
These songs remind us of the land and its spirit.
White man has done more harm in the last 100 years than the whole of humanity ever could. Id like to see white man adapt to the Aussie bush with no help. The only people that could and did adapt was the aboriginals..
@SudoJudo1 Europeans used to make themselves feel worthier by comparing certain races to apes. Appreciating the worth of your race by putting "White man" down is the same kind of attitude. Australia's brutal colonial history should be acknowledged and mourned, but so we can learn from it.
Australia is a beautiful country inhabited by people from well over one hundred nations across the world. If we can't do our best to improve together, as a diverse but unified people, nothing will change.
they accepted this 'balanda' into their family, gave me a new name (Marpana) and taught me many things about the incredibly intricate Aboriginal way of life, tribal laws, legends and teachings. They are incredible beautiful wise people, who hold invaluable knowledge about their land.
Wow this takes me right back to the beautiful tropical sandy beaches and aquamarine blue waters of the home of Galarwuy & Mandawuy Yunupingu, and Yothu Yindi at Ski Beach on the Marngarr Community in Arnhemland (near Nhulunbuy, Northern Territory).... I spent some amazing years living with the people of this aboriginal community
I know exactly where you are talking about and I thought the same when I saw this clip. They are simply the most generous of spirit, beautiful people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Lucky you to have lived there too.
i like,....would like to visit your awesome country, anyways xicmotla 'palhui nopampa! which in the language of my grandfathers is, Greetings to you on my behalf!
Good team up im sick of all these aussies making fun of these aborigines maybe if you dont like them you should be the one that fucks off from the country.
the aborigines are here to stay and frankly i like them and im white australian.
