an ibanez soundgear through a peavey firebass amp into a 4x10 ashdown speaker cab, with no effects ... recorded with the video mode on my little canon powershot 4 megapixel camera ... haha ... :)

In your opinion, can slap pop be done on a five string or does the B just get in the way of the tech? I play 5's and bought a four to learn S-P. Somehow I just can't get it... Ability is the result of practice but I'm not making much headway here. Any suggestions?

Guys do it all the time on 5's, although I think light gauge strings are definitely the way to go with a fiver. I'm still learning too and pretty primitive with my slap pop. Like you, I started late, didn't see the need of it playing blues and rock back in the 70's and 80's. haha It is a cool thing though. Check out Alexis Sklarevski on youtube and of course victor wooten's lessons. Just start with simple octave stuff I guess and work from there. I don't practice enough either, good luck! :)

I agree! It gives it a sort of different sound, but instead of sounding off, it almost builds up and then releases tension.

yeah he was removed, but he really should have been paid for introducing all these people to music they might potentially buy ... crazy! A weak sounding background track is hardly stealing music ... IMO

yah people kept complaining about how he got removed for having music when practically everyone else also has music in their vids. The only reason I can see why youtube picked marlowe in particular was because he was very well known, probably someone complained that he was using their music. Oh well, he is back now, btw funky riffs as always puds
