No but it is illegal for a private company to install and ticket speeders. Only law enforcement has that ability. In Texas the congress deemed them illegal but some cities still use them. If you try to take it to court they charge you $25 because they know they will have to drop it if you know it is not a legal ticket.

Good for this guy. If Arizona citizens are going to be getting traffic tickets, they should be by the hands of an officer that can utilize good judgment and not by a machine that delivers tickets indiscriminately.

I refuse to slow for these things; I've gotten three tickets so far and each one goes straight in the garbage with no repercussions. What a waste of resources.

I live in the Phoenix area. These cameras were authorized by our former governor and the new secretary of the department of homeland security, Janet Napoletano. She authorized millions of dollars to put these camers all over the state. Just another way for the government to steal money from it's people. I guess they wanted another raise.

I want to hear about people destroying those dam cameras. friend got a 438.00 ticket for being to late of a left hand turn cause the cars in front were too slow. the light flash and bam! he's now bending over for the city. its highway robbery and not everyone can pay these fines. i hope a movement starts about these dam government bull shit prevention camera's. its a money scheme!
