@giantschargers Are you sure about that? During the 1991 Gulf War two F-15E Strike Eagles were shot down by ground fire, one on January 18 (88-1689) and the other on January 19 (88-1692). The crew of the first plane were killed, the crew of the second were taken prisoner.
265justy, the F-15 would actually be much better in a dogfight than the F-16. Although the F-16 is smaller - some people take this to mean it is more maneuverable - it can actually be outmaneuvered by the F-15 for one main reason: the F-15's wings. The F-15 has very large wings compared to the overall size of the plane, and they also have a lot of camber (kindof like the thickness of the wing) The F-15's wings allow it to retain much more energy than most planes when making turns.
they both are still the best fighters in the world,not taking the F22 into account. The F16 is a pure hotrod for the sky and would just about hold the edge in a dogfight over the F15. The F15 might be that wee bit faster ,but top speed does not matter in a dogfight.
