The skydiving scene is about the individual setting their career choices. It is a reference to What Color is Your Parachute, a career guidance book from the late eighties, early nineties. The formation represents the risks associated with beginning joint ventures, corporations and partnerships. State Rights (Utah) and the other states allow for the organization of sole proprietorships, llc's, partnerships. When they all land, they land in the water, their investments are still liquid.
this movie represent the spirit of skydiving, is about emotions, it's not a documentary, no need to technically represent the world of skydiving. I'm a skydiver and if you are a skydiver too you sure can tell that no one have ever explained the experience of skydiving better than this movie, the real spirit of freedom and joy we have when we do that.
This is fucking hilarious. Everything about this Skydiving scene is ass backwards, including Patrick Swayze's freeflying. Blue Skies folks; continue to dream for 4min of Freefall.
@SPAZ111 Um, not exactly. We open our mouths all the time in skydiving and we can breathe just fine. It's just that if you scream your voice can't project any volume. You've obviously never jumped, just seen it on TV, like Johnny. ;)
@OfficerBigJoey The song's just called, "Skydive" track 16 on the soundtrack by Mark Isham. And I agree, it fits the scene perfectly and there's some really nice subtle basskicks if you have a good subwoofer.
Just watching this scene, I think it's one of the best in movie history. Just look at the camera shots and the back drop while the scene in in progress. A person can say U can't get no closer to god if you believe in him and that has to be true. I truly love this scene and it give me clarity each and every time I watch it. 5 stars to the director and the actors that took part in movie history........
patrick swazye almost didnt get insured for this film becasue when this movie was filmed he started jumpin like crazy keanu pussed out though they faked his scene
Yup, it's me Babbit, go to Facebook, type in Daniel Beer public figure.
The fans of Creepshow 2, Point Break really inspired me to come out of my shell and create this page. So go to my new page, click on the like button. Thanks. And I mean that man, from the bottom.
What's great about this movie is the fact that Keanu Reeves could have done his worst acting possible and it still would have been a great movie, Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves are such a perfect pair. Its amazing that they found such a good duo for the job.
@cannywf1 sounds awesome! I love the first scene when all 5 skydivers jump out of this plane...its so real watching them just accept that your falling..gain compsure..and then have fun with it.. Ahhh!!! I have gotta do this...cannywtf will you tandem with me ? lol
@cannywf1 Also depends on the plane. Larger planes (15-22 people) usually jump from 13,500 feet. Smaller airports tend to use smaller planes (4-5 people) that go to around 10,500 feet.
This scene is what made me decide I was going to try sky-diving. Sky-diving is fun but I must say you dont stay in the air anywhere near as long as these guys do.
Just watched this film for the first time, this scene is one of the best scenes in any film. Its just i dont know simple, as the other guy said spiritual. You feel as if you're up in the sky with them...
Great music too, really goes with the scene. Mark Isham is a genius.
@TokyoKazama glad u feel that way. I saw pt break in 91 and did my 1st jump in 92 in gananoque canada. I went on to do 600+ jumps. My last jump was 7 years ago in lake elsinore california. I have done probably 75 jumps where i filmed skydives and many like this. last yr i went back and looked at jumps i filmed in new york, canada, and arizona. I had opportunity to meet tom sanders in 1999 world freefall convention in quincy, illinois. tom did great job filming pt break. im amateur next to tom.
nah you pull it !
