no theres not going to be a draft set anytime soon... recruitment stats are up to 130% and i just tried reenlisting and have to have a dependency waiver-just for having a husband and 3 kids...recruitments just doing too good right now for anybody to worry about a draft taking place-at least not anytime soon--period.
There would never be a military draft unless our country is in dire need of extra military. Currently we have way more recruitment than what we need. People are constantly getting rejected from military service. We have the IRR in place to ensure that a draft is never necessary. Any inactive duty or retired militants will be recalled for duty in time of war. There would only be a draft if the US is attacked on all fronts and we anticipate millions of soldiers to come on our shores.

Certain members of the house and senate have been trying to reinstate the draft since 2003. H.R. 163 in the house failed to pass by a 402-2 vote. Only two morons voted for it and it made them look stupid. Charles Rangel keeps trying to pass it, but it will not happen people!! Even if congress approved it, the president would have to as well. Certain members of the house and senate have been trying to reinstate the draft since 2003. H.R. 163 in the house failed to pass by a 402-2 vote. Only two morons voted for it and it made them look stupid. Charles Rangel keeps trying to pass it, but it will not happen people!! Even if congress approved it, the president would have to as well. And if he did approve it we would be right back in the 60's again burning flags and whatever else. It would be a poop mess.

As for the military drafing men whos religion prohibits them from defending their way of life as well as there family, the military takes this to account to. They are given non combat mos thus would never have to fire their riffle. Conterary to popular belife not all our military is just pure infantry men kicking down doors and blowing shit up. By keeping the draft voluntary the US ensures that only the most heartless of its citizens serve with ruthlessness and obedience. There is no honor in serving the US military.

It's the veterans who voluntarily served their country that gave you the right to speak your opinion freely like you do.
Regardless of your opinion of Iraq/Afganistan, there's no reason to badmouth veterans.
Perhaps our new "messiah"(President Barack Obama) will end all wars and make all people play nice. Until that day, there will be conflicts that require occasional use of force.

If you think Bush is bad, wait until Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and company implement big government welfare programs like government health care.
When Obama takes 50-60% of your paycheck so that people can sit on their butt and not work, you'll be complaining about high taxes. You'll probably be one of the millions milking off of billions in free government handouts.

Ummm....Bush's term cannot be "extended." The Constitution explicitly forbids a presidential term being extended beyond 4 years. Barack Obama has been elected and will be inaugurated on Jan. 20, 2008 no matter what. If something happens to Obama between now and Jan. 20, then Joe would be sworn in as president.
