My Father was on this hill, his unit received a Presidential Commendation. He never knew for sure till his 73rd Birthday his Grandson presented him with a copy. My Fathers name was Herby Cecil Payne from West Virginia. Dad is 80 now and near the end.

My grandfather was a Korean War Veteran . I rem as a boy he told me, if one Chinese dropped there was 10 Chinese there to pick up his rifle and keep on fighting. He was in the 5th RCT. Army. Artillery. 155mm. He told me one night the Chinese over ran them, and they salvaged around 10 out of 40 sum artillery pieces with them. I vividly remember my Papa saying he moved for 2 days so fast he didn't have time to tie his boots after his position was overran.
