@Smartyx71 you're not supposed to compare any one person to another. it's biblical. and that's not what i'm doing. i'm stating that God gave two different top notch talents to two different people. that's all. and i do have two favorites. i know of top notch gospel performers. top notch singers. top notch horn players. this does not mean i am comparing. it means i'm in awe of God and what gifts He gives. that is all.
Fantastic as always, a great man with fantastic jazz and classical background showing in his beautiful tone, superb effortless seeming technique and jazz phrasing. What possible cretins could have posted a Dislike on this for goodness sake?
Saluti
This video has really shown me the power of jazz, or at least enlightened me to how far it has evolved since its beginnings in the south. There was a time when jazz considered to the music for the coloreds, much like "gangster" rap in the 90's. Oscar was a pioneer of his time, to have a white player in his trio (i'm not informed to say he was first) and it really helped the desegregation movement. Now music like this plays in department stores as well as at parties. It has no boundaries
OMG WTF U ARE WATCHING OSCAR PETERSON..... STOP TALKING ABOUT JUSTIN BIEBER AND SAY OSCAR PETERSON HAS TALENT ... JUSTIN HAS NOT..... PETERSON IS COMPARED AND IS SECOND TO NOONE ... SO STOP TALKING BULLSHIT AND ENJOY HIS GREAT INTERPRETATION
Will those of you who are trying to impress us with your knowledge by arguing whether Brown or Pedersen is better please take your argument outside so the rest of us can enjoy both of them, and Oscar, in peace?

Hi friends, you are invited to enjoy a Beautiful free online master class on the playing of Oscar Peterson. You will LOVE this! Type in "Dave Frank" Oscar on YT.
Topics include Oscar's runs, arrangement techniques, voicing, and much more.
I've been an Oscar Peterson enthusiast for years now, but thank you to Casey Abrams for introducing his sacred name to young people who can now watch real music and not the pop bullshit out there in this decade.
Wonderful new Dick Hyman master class now on youtube. Dick discusses his career and musical concepts, plays two beautiful tunes, and plays duo pianos with NYC jazz piano monster Dave Frank. You will enjoy this! Type in "Dave Frank" Dick Hyman into youtube search.
