Ive been a pens fan my whole life and i believe the reason why pens fans boo him is because of the way he left. He only left because he was greedy and wanted money same reason why he didn't stay in the NHL. And also, I think a deciding factor was that Lemieux came back, and Jagr wanted his own team and with Mario back he wasn't going to get that, Not to mention when jagr went to the caps, we got absolute shit for him, and still owed him millions after leaving. People use to say that JJ had another gear that he could throw into when he was motivated. Well, age and indifference has taken that special something from him and he just isn't the same type of player he held the promise to be. I don't have a problem with the Rangers letting him walk. What are they really losing? Seventy to 80 points if he stays healthy and motivated. I think it's time to go with the youngsters. JJ would always control the room as long as he was there. It the kids turn.

Well I guess we saw two options for older players last year. Jagr reserved his energy for the postseason, Shanny played hard early and had nothing left in the postseason. Are they right? No, neither one. But there were choices made. I like the speed we have with the kids now.

Your point about where have all the gods gone is true. That is part of what I love about sport. There is always another season to follow, always another chance at glory, adn always another chance for someone to stand up and be that hero. Whether it is Dawes, Prucah, Dubinsky or Staal, or if it is none of them eventually someone will step up to the mantle and become our hero.

The way he looked the last two season I can see your hesitation, but he was forced to play on his weaker side, he was also removed form the pp and his minutes were cut in half. That is going to stall the development of a young player. I hope Dubi doesn't suffer now, wihtout getting top line minutes. If Prucha gets minutes (10-12) and some power play time while back on his right wing then he will do much better. He was third on the depth chart of right wings behind Jagr and Shannahan

Atleast we got to watch him for as long as we did, I would have loved to see him get to 700 goals, 1000 assists and 1700 points in Ranger blue, but as it is he will always hold a special place in my heart for bringing New York hockey and respectability back together after the lock out.
