Wow great idea. Your video was very useful for me since I didn't know how to cover my stryfoam cake with fondand, it is always "slipped" and so hard to sticked. Thank you.
Donna you rock! My partner and I were commissioned to make a fake cake for a tv celebrity's birthday which will be show on air, no pressure:) Anyway, You & your pretty hands talked us through the process and made us feel like we could do it! Well, we did and it looks great. Hope to post a pic for you as well. Thanks for taking the time to show us the way!
I've never worked with Satin Ice.. only Wilton's. But the SI fondant looks as though it's MUUUCCCHHH easier to work with that Wilton's. The way she picks up the SI with her hands and it doesn't tear or stretch too much.. you can't do that with Wilton's. Definitely gonna try SI. I just don't wanna have to order it online.. none of stores around here sell it. SMH
Very good idea to cut away the excess fondant once you've put it on the cake. And I am always amazed by anyone who can work with cake and have long nails... I have to keep mine short or I am always "nick"ing my cakes:)
Thank you for posting this video! I just tried covering a cake with fondant for the first time and had some trouble with getting the sides smooth. I think I see what to do for next time. Thank you so much! :)
Do you know how long I can keep the fondant on the cake? Let say my wedding is on Saturday; can I make the cake on Monday; leave it outside and it will not crack or melt?

I like this video alot..I recently bought a cake Dummy, and everytime I try to cover it with Fondant it tears on the corners. :( What am I doing wrong?
I do apologize however I do my best to try to accomodate everyone here on facebook but sometimes it seems as though some just don't appreciate all the time and effort it takes to do free how to videos for everyone!
I do understand like I said I do apologize for that!!! I was not trying to say your ungrateful it was your comment the way you said try to do less talking and more doing! I do my best and have many who want the videos done this way ro that way and it get to be somewhat annoying since I am offering my time for free. It would be different if someone was ordering a video a certain way and telling me how they want it!! This is just my viewpoint on the situation.
@bgshortcake I use a CI (Cochlear Implant), so I can hear, but since it's artificial hearing, and we don't know if it's the same as proper hearing, so I don't understand things, but I can hear them. And that comment was by my cousin, who is deaf too. Apologies for any problems the comment caused.

Hi, amazing video!! I have a question: Why does my marshmallow fondant tear at the edge above?
Does this have anything to with the fact that it's mashmallow fondant?

If you are deaf then how do you know she's talking too much? For all you know she could have said very few words and done a terrific job!
