MI "Foreign Vehicles" Ad

Alot of people will think I'm wrong, but buying foreign cars helps America. Foreign cars are better built and last longer. The money you save on maintenance and not having to replace it every 2 years, is what makes us richer at the end. We can use this money to buy clothing, restaurant meals, etc. Thus creating jobs more jobs domestically, rather than a few overpaid union jobs in detroit.

Those of you who think this ad is silly probably aren't from Michigan. Keep in mind that most politicians play it safe by owning domestic cars. Could you picture the president being driven around in a Lexus limo? The point of this ad is that McCain may be misleading about his claims for lifelong support for American automakers. It isn't just the foreign cars he owns, it's also about the considerations for loan guarantees for the Big 3.

Thats why this ad is being played in Michigan only. I live in Michigan and I'd say about 80% of the vehicles in this state are american made. It's a big topic for people in a state where their survival depends on the survive of Ford, GM, and Chrysler.

It's the Obama campaign using micro campaigning and it's smart.

I am a strong Obama supporter and have to agree that this is a dumb commercial. A large percentage of the Japanese cars are built here in the US by American workers while many "American" cars are built in Canada and Mexico, among other countries. You could buy a Toyota and still be buying American. OTOH, you could buy a Hummer and buy Mexican...
