  • @MiCHELLERBUG then move? did you know that Farmington Utah is listen in the top 10 safest places to live in America? geeze, sorry about that. tell all those crazy mormons to stop making family friendly neighborhoods. those hooligans!

  • its okay for the bible to approve of polygamy, but when people in this day and age do it, its wrong.. lol

  • I am a mormon, and a lot of this is true. It is written in the book of mormon that no man should have more than one wife..and it goes on to say that God will raise up his seed, but otherwise he will command monogamy. Who are we to argue with God? He raised up his seed.

It was the way the Lord had planned to raise up his people. No matter what worldly influences tell you, it doesn't change the truth that it is the order of heaven.

I know this is true, I have a testimony of it.

    In Jesus name.

  • @wotfingaz "who are we to argue with God"? we're not. we're arguing with men who claim to speak for God. if we do not believe their revelation, then it is just them we are arguing with. you just believe that it is the order of heaven. doesn't mean you're right... doesn't mean i am. you don't "know". i don't "know". all we have is opinions here.

here's mine... i "know" it is not true. i testify that it is not.

  • Right so can I just ask then... Are nuns not ment to be "married" to God???????? Cuz if so then he has a f*** load of wives!! Clearly its a case of following the leader then!?

  • I'm mormon and I knew about polygamy. Shawn you do know that Abraham had more than one wife as did Jacob and David and others. Mormons no longer practice polygamy (thank goodness). And Utah was NOT built on polygamy. What a way to spend your life, bashing a religion and what a rude awakening will be Shawn's if he dies and finds out he was speaking against Christ's church.

  • @peaceliberty4all Ya thats the thing! Everyone is always like "oh ye have more then one wife" but im like am have u read the Bible?? I think all the prophets had many wives.. I remember reading was it solamen who had like 800 wives and concubines! Something mad like that! And what ppl forget is that not every mormon practised it! Only some were allowed and even then they were not sure they could handle it... But sure u no all this already! :D

  • I got to the point that I don´t care if Joseph was a polygamus.

  • @LDS4Life71 Nope... Not lying. Read your Church history. It's easy to find. If you would like to pinpoint what he's lying about, I would love to hear it, but all that information he mentioned can be found in early Church history. Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it's a lie.

  • Shawn manipulates information, for example he says there are not any examples of writing on plates anywhere in the world, he stated this just recently over and over on one of his programs. Thats not true, there are instances where plates were used. Brass, Silver, Gold and Copper. Did he allow any callers to refute his statements? I will give you an easy one, The Plates of King Darius, Gold and Silver. he knows about them but decided to lie by saying there are no plates anywhere to be found.

  • @scottwins2 sorry, but that's just a case of a Mormon twisting things to suit what they want to say!! You guys will forget about context and follow a few words stating that it proves the Bom true!! You slag off Christianity for believing in the trinity and disregard that it says in Mormon 7:7 that father son and spirit are one! Mormonism is a pick and mix work of fiction! There is more truth in the Da Vinci code!

  • @tattoodfreeek One in Purpose they are, I would never pray to a God that prays to himself, I don't think he would call himself Father. Jesus prayed to his FATHER he came back if you remember a little thing called the Resurrection then even ate fish. I guess the Father had to wate for him to come back so they could share. You forgot to mention that the witnesses who saw the plates said they were one too. oops One In PURPOSE. Christ asked the Father in John if the apostles could be "one"

  • @scottwins2 Well, seeing as Mormons pray to a God made up by Jo Smith, you can do what you want! Fact of the matter is that it states that they are one! It does not say one in purpose! That again I'm afraid is another example of Mormons twisting things!

  • @tattoodfreeek So i guess you pray to a God that prays to himself. If thats the case then both of you would be idiots.

  • @scottwins2 pmsl!!! A boastful, blasphemous Mormon??? Nothing unusual there then!!!

  • @tattoodfreeek a God made up by Joseph Smith? Does anyone ever think that maybe every single religion prays to the exact same God, just in a different way? ex. Allah is another word for God. Just because it looks different, doesnt mean it isnt still God. I'm pretty sure God is ok with having more than one name. (He's very understanding like that.) and yes, i do not believe that God, His Son, and the Holy Ghost are all smashed into one body. that doesnt make a lick of sense.

  • @daniellekoons so you think that it's ok that Jo Smith told everyone that God is part of a "management team" that took bits and pieces and put them together to create the earth? The Mormon "God" is given limitations, a physical body being one!

Yeah, they might pray to the same God, but it's not a Biblical God, no, it's the new improved God that Jo Smith made up!!

  • @tattoodfreeek its Joseph Smith, not Jo Smith.

and i have no idea what you mean by 'management team' or the bits and pieces thing... and since when is a body a limitation? try to do stuff without a body, let me know how limited you feel then hahahaha

(ps. 'biblical god' sounds like 'historical christian'.)

  • @daniellekoons man, you don't know your Biblical God do you? You know, the one that always has been, always will be? The one that has stated that He is the only God and always will be? Mormonism makes you people into nothing short of brain dead monkeys, willing to follow a false prophet like lost sheep!!!

  • @tattoodfreeek I totally agree with you- God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Which is why we (LDS) believe that because God is unchanging, then he must also call prophets today. Why do only the people a thousand years ago get a prophet? Does God have more to say to them? Do we not need His council? We beg to differ. Go ahead- read the BOM. Look up Mormon Chapter 9 verse 9. Feel free to type it here word for word.Ps, I'm 23, a teacher for my ward, and I teach the Old Testament.

  • @tattoodfreeek and you never explained the management and bits thing? it sounds weird. and trust me, im lds. we know weird! hahaha

  • @daniellekoons the "management", the idea that God is one of a group of gods that supposedly organised the earth. When you look at the God that Mormons believe in and the Christian God, there is a huge amount of difference!!

  • @tattoodfreeek we dont believe that God is a group of Gods... there is only one God. One Christ. One Holy Ghost. God is a jealous God! I don't think He'd appreciate it if we said he was in a God Fraternity. (which he isnt.) seriously who is telling you this stuff? its bunk. the ONLY difference between the God you know and the one i know is that i dont believe in the Trinity. That's it.

  • @daniellekoons and yet if you read Mormon 7:7 it states that God, Son and holy spirit are ONE God!

  • Utah was built on being seperate from the Mobs Shawn and Mining. Not polygamy .

  • @scottwins2 In Purpose. i have a million examples, but here's one: John 17:21-26. Jesus says one in purpose, just like the Son and the Father have one purpose: to lead us back to Heaven. If these verses are literal, then he would be telling us all to smash into one body. Whenever it says "one God" we translate it as being "one purpose". That phrase is used a lot. Genesis 2:24. God commands Adam and Eve to smoosh together?? Nah. Probably not.

  • Wow this is so damaging to the Church

They abandon Gods laws to get a government grant

Then when they die they believe they will return to polygamy

If its right on earth then it should be right always not postponed to br praciced at a later date

  • @xxfinny

actually i'm a mormon too and your rebuttal for why we practiced it is not acurate, you need to do a little more research.

  • everything you said was true and so... what's your point?

  • Shawn mcCraney is not a liar what is he lying on instead of calling him a liar tell us what he is lying on coward

  • @LDS4Life71 So document a lie he made on this show.

  • Thank you for sharing that!!! You just saved another soul.

  • @xxfinny mormons lie all the time! They call it "lying for the lord" They think it's dandy to lie...

  • Shawn, you need a lots of repentance from your secret homosexual life style; and return to the only true church; God create Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve or Mary and Susan; the Kingdom of God will and never will eternally accept homosexuality and lesbianism;

  • Shawn, i watched one of your t.v. shows, you left The true Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints because of homosexuality and lesbianism; since your against the church, because we as members of the church won't accepted a sodomite life, you then, left the church; you need to repent from your secret homosexual life style; your very ignorant of the things of eternity; you need someone with the proper authority of the Holy Melchezedic Priesthood to bless you; that's a challange for you;

  • I just saw a program on T L C on the T V, this week that was a mormon wedding and the guy has three wives, man what a crock of you know what, they do not practice it.

  • @MrBigbear6718 haha i know its so dumb. i hate shows like Big Love and crap. so dumb. Mormons arent polygamists and polygamists arent mormons. geeze.

  • THIS IS PROBABLY THE SADDEST THING I HAVE SEEN IN A VERY LONG TIME. PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO JUDGE LDS MEMBERS LIKE MYSELF, OR THE THINGS WE PRACTICE. FOR STARTERS, MY FATHER, HIS FATHER, HIS FATHER, HIS FATHER, AND SO ON, ALL HAVE NEVER PRACTICED POLYGAMY. I CAN HONESTLY SAY THAT I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE MET A POLYGAMIST!!!! THE LDS CHURCH DOES *NOT* PRACTICE POLYGAMY, THE PRACTICE WAS BANNED OVER 150 YEARS AGO! GET THE FACTS STRAIGHT!!!

  • @emnewhall ummm his facts are straight. And If you never met a polygamist you don't live in utah.

  • @ighter4 As a matter of fact, I live in Utah, and have lived here my entire life. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and I would know more than anyone outside of the church, what we believe in. You have no say in what we believe in. You obviously have never actually "seen" with your own eyes. So again i say, get the facts straight.

  • @emnewhall The lds church still practices polygamy in the afterlife and in fact participated in it long after the "ban"

  • @ighter4 You know, it truly is sad that people of other faiths spend all their time devouring their lives in rumors of other churches and hating. Obviously you don't know my faith, the LDS Church, so please stop judging us and thinking you know everything about my church, because you don't.. It's that simple

  • @emnewhall You don't know about your faith, or you're not mormon, or you're a child. If you are mormon it is sad and silly that you are lying about your beliefs.

  • @ighter4 Get to know the facts, that's all i have to say. Just get to know the facts, then we will talk.

  • @emnewhall You are being given facts. You just choose to ignore them. I find it hard to believe that you are a mormon who is unaware that men are sealed to multiple women in mormon temples today...

  • @ighter4 Its funny how you think you know the facts, and you aren't even a member of the LDS Church. Wow you sound really reliable...

  • @emnewhall I'm saying you don't sound like you are really a mormon. I grew up in slc, went to seminary, went to ricks college and am on the membership rolls. You however have not said anything that would show that you know much about the mormon church or utah.

  • @ighter4 You haven't said anything to back up your stance on this issue till now, very hypocritical wouldn't you think. I am CURRENTLY a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, attended seminary, go to church every week, and most importantly, have a testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel, and of God the Eternal Father. I am tired of arguing with someone that doesn't know what they are talking about and wants to point fingers at false preachings, it makes me sick.

  • @emnewhall Where was I hypocritical? You are the hypocrite for pretending to be a mormon... Or else you are a child who is uninformed. Ask an adult, your bishop or some one other than your parents about the nature of celestial mariage(ie plural) You'll find that you haven't been told any thing untrue by me. Also, ironic that you are calling mormon preachings "false" You might also stumble on a mormon concept refered to as "milk before meat" Just a heads up...

  • @ighter4

do you believe in the bible? i dont know how to tell you this...but....many of the old prophets had like a bajillion wives. it isnt 'mormons practice polygamy' its 'did you have a billion wives? k well you still do in the afterlife'. if you have one here, you have one there. if you had more, then bam you still have them in the afterlife. and i have no intention of being in a polygamist relationship- this life or the next hahaha

  • Slightly wrong. For reasons of sheer arithemetic most Mormon males of the early days were not polygamous. There were not lots more women than men in Utah back then. You could still be in heaven with God, only you would not be exhalted, only living in 'single blessedness' and being a helper to the exhalted people who would go on to have spiritual children, organize planets, and send their 'kids' there to work out their own plan of salvation.

  • pinesdale Montana does it

  • Interesting stuff.

  • oh, I forgot, the polygamist colony is named after Alma Dayer Lebaron, a polygamist from Utah in the 1920's, and the mormon town (non-polygamist is called Manuel Dublan and Colonia Juárez) which are non polygamist...

  • ...they all can go AND BURN IN HELL!!!

  • ...about the mormons in México, they got established around the 1880's in Pacheco, Chihuahua and they fought in the Méxican/American War pro USA of course, and they live in México and they promote SEGREGATION, RACISM, ARIAN PURE DNA (sometimes they intermarry among relatives, don't want to mixed with the "mexican lamanites", hahahaha LOL :))) which I don't believe CRAP about it) AND SEPARATISM in México, yeah and they are considered "christians", the hell with them..

  • @1231violin polygamists are gross. they have so much inbreeding that they have double the amount of retarded kids and physical deformations. ewwww

  • ...about mormons is full of bull shit.!! throughout my teen-age years I went through misery cause of the mormon church and the anglo-mexican racist mormons, I will never forgive and forget how much psychological harm they caused me!! anglo-mexican mormons are the biggest biggot-racist-narrow-minded m...f....rs in THIS PLANET!!, Hate them forever!, they live in México and practice segregation and racism in 21st century era, you should read some more about about Mormons..

  • So that's "Heaven" for a Mormon woman........

having to share your husband with another woman "for all eternity" ???

    I'd call that "Hell"...........

  • ggmorvaj:

    hahahahaha :))) LOL

    that was funny!!! LOL

  • I have spent countless hours studying Joseph Smith and the church and this is full of lies and hand-me-down anti-Mormon propoganda. That's the way anti-Mormons work. It's all the same tired, made up stories respun for a new age and time. The Book of Mormon is the corner stone of the Mormon church. To prove the church is false you have to prove the Book of Mormon is false. Not one person has or can do that... So they attack Joseph Smith and the other prophets of the church.

  • Since no one has proven the Qu'ran false, that makes it true right? Or so your logic would so seem. All someone needs to know if the LDS church is false is a witness from God.

  • You could look at it that way. Of course I do not believe that the Qu'ran is true but I also know nothing about it so I can't really get into that. But because I don't believe the Qu'ran to be the word of god I would say that if nobody has proven it wrong then that just proves that it isn't false more than it proves that it's true. But you're absolutely right about a whitness from god. Just as you can know the LDS church is false you can also know that it's true through that whitness.

  • Also, thank you for not being a hostile jack ass. I don't get the hate in these conversations that people have. I really do appreciate it. You have class. (Not being sarcastic haha)

  • Lol, I try, I am almost an anti-anti-Mormon! If someone has true beef against the church, then they need to argue valid points; most anti-mormons just sound like morons who can't put a thought process together. Some just want to rant and rave because their Bishop was mean to them or some crap like that; what they don't realize is that the world is what they make of it. What I'm saying is that hate is pointless and arguments should be made on valid points, not silly rants =)

  • Haha no joke. That's so freakin true. I mean, i can respect other people's points of view and if they have a problem with something that's totally fine. But they should at least have a good reason and not because they got offended. Especially with the church.. any church for that matter. People are't perfect and they make mistakes but you can't condemn the organisation because of it (unless that's what the organization teaches... KKK for example)

  • It's refreshing to see people like you that don't thrive on hate and use it as their only fuel in arguements/debates.. You mentioned that you were ALMOST anti-Mormon lol what do you mean by that? If you don't mind me asking..

  • We still thinks its true yes but another thing that we beileve in is following the laws of the land which is why people now in the U.S do not pratice it. We beileve that we should replenish the earth and spred the gospel which is the reason we did polygamy. When the people in thoughs days brock the law yes it was wrong and it shouldnt have happened but we do still beileve in it we just can not have two "rules" clash

  • Smith practiced it -illegally! Was he wrong? Are you a better Mormon then he was? How can the tree produce healthy fruit if it is born from a rotten seed?

  • So according to what you said, the purpose of polygamy was to "multiply and replenish the earth"?

  • Yes that is exactly what i am saying

  • I'd like you to address the reasons why polygamy was instated. You are very misinformed to suggest it was started due to a belief in salvation.

Do accuse 'most LDS men' of believing in your faux principal is laughable.

  • polygamy started because J Smith had his ass in a wringer, legally speaking, by banging where he shouldn't. He also knew what a binding force Mormon Polygamy is:: It is from the Hierarchy down onto the male and then onto the female. It is illegal so fleeing it is very tricky. The polygamy ceremony binds you more to the hierarchy and its compulsions than to your spouse. Private business relations fall under the compulsion of the hierarchy. The oaths are violent and secret and another compulsion.

  • rofl

wow, this was an entertaining read.

Do you believe in unicorns, too?

  • nope, no unicorns but I read the polygamy revelation and its real. And I know polygamy was actively practiced well after 1914, thru the hierarchy. Posted some of it is posted

  • the government in México permits polygamy in Chihuahua, there's no problem with them, as long as they can support them..

the POLYGAMIST COLONY in Çhihuahua is called LEBARON COLONY.

you can also look it up in wikipedia, who the founder was...

    his name was Lebaron...

  • POLYGAMY is still practice in a MEXICAN MORMON TOWN called LEBARON in the beautiful State of Chihuahua, México, is just about an hour away from the Mormon colonies in Colonia Dublán and Colonia Juárez, they are relatives, one of his most prominent citizens is the PARSON family, who went back to the LDS church... but they still talk to the other Parson's from the Polygamist colony... he's the owner of the famous TURKEY "PARSON" (Pavos Parson)...

check it up in youtube...you'll see it...

  • Your comment makes no sense...it almost sounds like you are praising the LeBarons...do you even know anything about the Five o'Clock murders?

  • Excuse me??!, I see you don't understand my point!, what I'm saying is that I live very close to a polygamist colony in Chihuahua, and to be frank I sure can CARE LESS if the government In México permits polygamy, I'm just stating that there's polygamy in other countries, other than in Independence, Missouri, got it!, and I am not promoting it!, oh, and btw, I'm an ex-mormon and don't believe crap about the BoM, I grew up in a mormon town and everything about ...

  • Which is why I said "your comment makes no sense." I misplaced the rest of those comments, they were meant elsewhere.

  • get a life mate, isn't there anything better for you to do than to put others beliefs down?? i feel sorry for you matey..

  • in the book of exodus moses said it was okay to have more than one wife so what no big deal so if that is your claim against lds some thing is totally wrong with u this church helps people family night and we focus on christ guess u havent been to a sabbath service lately i get Baptisted on mothers day im so happy we focus on topics to do with christ in aaronic priesthood class service christ prayer christ dont know what shawn is eluding to
