  • No goggles, no dust mask and owning it like a total BOSS!

  • Hi--I'm looking for a disk(chain saw wheel) for my 4inch angle grinder. Please help? thanx

  • are you a carpenter or a magician ???:DDD

  • time to get carving thanks buddy :)

  • Awww I thought it was a reefer bowl.... lol Ah well nice vid though.

  • @ChiBearsFan2354 XD same bro

  • wow, those are beautiful. How do I do that for a living?

  • It's great to see he is wearing a dust respirator!!

  • old man has himself some skillz 0.0

  • damn straight

  • @pamapanfu.... Being a girl has nothing to do with wood working/carving. It is just another medium for creativity. I have been hand carving animals, woodspirits, and caricatures for almost 8 years now.....yes, l'm female too.

  • Wouldn't you say the title of this video is misleading? That's grinding, not carving.

  • Is that a wood cutting disc for an angle grinder?

if so, where can i get one? (UK)

    Thanks!

  • ima girl and Im watchin this..... I like carving and I hope to make a wooden bowl

  • verry nice man..well done

  • ...yeah i don't have those tools i had to do it with my survival knife...very time consuming but it was mad in about two days...bout....can't stress that enough anyway me and my friend went out into the forest for some...extreme camping we only brought our knives and a single day bail-out-bag enough provisions for the both of us to live one day with no worries and i made that bowl to carry items and collect water what im saying is it might not be pretty but you can make a bowl with only a knife

  • Awesome job

  • magic marker?... you mean Sharpie?

  • thumbs up if u thought he meant a bowl to smoke out of

  • I'd eat cereal outa that.... Jussayin

  • Hi, I was wondering if there is any precautions to choosing wood for whittling to make pipes, spoons, etc. I know that some woods are considered toxic but I'm not sure if this means I need to learn to identify all different types of trees for safety reasons before I start learning bushcraft. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • this guy should be wearing a respirator if he wants to live long! your crazy man1

  • i had a boil lance alot

  • Do you sell any of the wooden bowls? I may be interested in something made from Oak.

  • cool video but i am new to working with wood and some comments about the tools you are using i think would be helpful. eg the silver little cutter what do you call that? =)

  • i` love it. thank you 4 share.

  • Wood dust strengthens the lungs.

  • @norxcontacts same with cigarettes and liquid cement

  • @Sternoproductions same with air

  • You should also promote the use of a mask.

  • I kept wondering when you were going to bolt it to a lathe! This is inspiring stuff, I have never heard of a chainsaw wheel for a grinder, Im going to look into it. Thanks for posting your video.

  • awesome :D

  • Great video. Awesome lesson

  • Very impressive

  • Oh the elegance of power tools!

  • well ..breathing in any dust for longer time (month/years) could damage your lungs permanently or even kill you. (inflammations, infections, cancer and so on..) wood dust, stone dust, flavor, cement and so on. but hey ! super easy fix. ALWAYS where a mask. fixed. ..and yea, beautiful bowls :D thx for posting.

  • The Titanic Museum in Branson, Mo. will host its 3rd Annual Wood Carving event on Oct. 8-10, 2010. Have you heard of the LogHoggers? They are a huge group of wood carvers who travel the country!

  • I like this guy.

  • Yew wood is toxic breathing the dust is not at all good for you.

  • Just encase you didn't know... Yew is very toxic and has been known to kill many people by using it in water vessels and containers etc I think there's one species that is an exception.

    Great video.

    Be safe brother.

  • I'm not impressed by your video! I bought the Arbortec Pro-4 on the back of this video and then find out you're not using the guard! When using the guard the maximum depth of cut you can get is 10mm. I can't see how you can possibly do a job like this with the guard on!

  • nice job!!

  • I was just wondering and if I may ask how much do all these tools cost? I would like to star doing crafts and selling them Im guessing I cant just use a dremel lol.

    Well thanks for your time.

  • You just enlightened me so much! I already have all those tools too.

    Thank you.

I'd love to entertain guests with bowls like those.

  • very misleading i want a pipe

  • misleading

  • yes you can carve the bowl, but is it hard to measure what is thickness of the wood left between in and out !!

  • very beautiful!!!

  • I got the lancelot and had to take it back, said would fit dewault but my center nut would not fit in the the dish of the chainsaw wheel, I really wanted to try it.

  • how many hours did that take to make that bowl using that tool?

  • damn. i thought the title was talking about a bowl to smoke weed out of... haha

  • Thats why I came here bro bahaha

  • I thought you could only make bowls with lathes... cool demo!

  • a magic marker lol

  • is that green one an angle grinder?

  • The green grinder is made by Proxxon, we add our chain saw wheel and call it a Merlin.

  • @Lancelottool Could you carve the whole bowl with just the Merlin tool? I know that it might take longer, but is it theoretically possible?

  • @Lancelottool HI---where can I get a chain saw wheel for my 4inch grinder? Please....thank you

  • @Lancelottool greetings :) where can I get a chain saw wheel for my 4inch grinder?

  • Comment removed

  • how do you choose your wood and what do you do to keep your bowls from cracking?

  • nice proxxon tool

  • Thanks for posting, these are awesome tools( I use 'em !)) & the bowls are very nice. Thanks fer turnin' noise off during illustration,...(watch that dust...it'l get ya !) Allen

  • i just discovered machine-mart sell these in the uk. got one at last!

  • haha no kidding - especially with Yew!!!

  • really useful tool!

  • What machine are you using. and what blade???

  • Vewy nice

  • GREAT vid- love watching this guy.

  • what make/brand of tool are you using on the angle grinder to carve the outside of the bowl, is that a chain saw head also?

  • beautiful work

  • Most of my work is done by hand. Then again it isn't bowls and the like. I am doing a wooden shot glass though. I could really use a tool like that.

  • where can i get a carving vice like that

  • That guy is my grandpa! He taught art at FSU for about 40 years and he is the best artist I've ever known personally.

  • awesome!

  • I have always wanted to carve a bowl and now I can...thanks for the video

  • Grate work!
