  • My Shelties (I have 4) don't care for toys any more, but they do love to chew on rawhide. They all sleep in crates at night. I have trained them to go to bed when I tell them it is bed time. I put them to bed at 9pm every night. All I have to say is "Bed Time" and they all go running to their own crate. I think I will try to train them to put their rawhide's in one place or maybe in a small box or something. I get tired of picking up the rawhide's out of the walkway. Wish me luck!

  • CUTE!!!

  • guh-boyyyyy!!! GUH BOYYYYY!!!

  • I didn't train my sheltie to put away her toys, she just always has for some resson.

  • Is that a piece of white hair in the middle of her back?

  • My sheltie, Buddy, will go to his toy bin and move the toys or take some out to find the ones he wants... The only bad thing is he won't put them away. :]

  • Boomer you are such a DOLL!

  • Wow! I’m getting a sheltie next week and you just made me even more excited! Was it difficult to train him to do that? Shelties are soo smart, it’s unbelievable!!

  • @daphneisthebest - I wouldn't say it was real difficult for me to teach, it just took awhile for him to learn each of the different steps of the trick. So a lot of time and patience to develop this.

  • That is so cute. My Shelties won't do that. He is a mess maker!!!!!

  • i need to teach my sheltie how to do that! :D

  • It's super adorable how excited he gets when he knows he did a job well done! :D

  • I think you are an excellent teacher. Your dogs are remarkably smart. Beautiful too. Keep up what you do best. Shelties are the absolute best breed. Smart, gorgeous and loyal oh so loyal.

  • great dog

  • Not just dogs...but I wish that people would clean up after themselves too! LOL. Lovely Sheltie.

  • What does shaping with a clicker even mean?

  • I cannot explain the complexities of clicker training in the amount of space allowed here...just google the term and you will find tons of articles on clicker training and shaping.

  • ^_^ ! ! !

  • How did you train him?

  • As a previous comment says, this was shaped with a clicker.

  • i think the cutest part is at the end when the sheltie leaped into his owner's arms with great excitement :)

  • That's my favorite part too. ;-)

  • @maryjo313

    Omygosh so cute :)

    How old is he?

He looks much smaller than my girl sheltie.

  • @fencergirl06 - He's still pretty young in this video, maybe a year? He's filled out a bit more, but he's a pretty small sheltie, about 13 inches tall.

  • Wow! How did you teach him that? Our sheltie leaves her toys everywhere, so this would be a useful skill.

  • This trick was trained completely by shaping with a clicker.

  • What do you mean by shaping with a clicker?

  • WHat the how did u get a dog to do that :| please tell me

  • Aww, how cute is he? It looks like he is picking up right from where Taz left off! He is absolutely adorable and I hope to see more of him soon!
