I really wanted to see if karuta is the same as it is in Chihayafuru. Looks pretty accurate! Pretty cool to see it played IRL.

It's some serious shit having to memorize 100 poems. I don't think I can reach this level even if the cards were in English. I really loved how the anime managed to preserve such a dying culture like karuta.

2:40, technically you're not increasing your opponent card count, since you already took a card, so really you're just decreasing your own count.

so you could just buy the regular one

to memorize the poems there is a book that has all 100 of them in english and hiragana so you can play that way
