  • the name 22/45 means it holds 45 bullets of .22 in the clip

  • @Heylookaneagle I'm afraid you're incorrect. The Ruger website states that the .22/45 series of pistols only hold 10 cartridges in the magazine.

Their website also says "In addition to the identical grip angles, the 22/45™ features the same fire control locations (manual safeties, magazine releases and bolt hold-opens) as the 1911, making them perfect for .45 caliber shooters looking for an affordable way to train."

  • What does the 22/45 part mean??

  • @257sleepy It's the specific model of pistol. It's the 22/45 model, which is part of the MkIII series made by Ruger.

  • @heypete1 ok. Thanks man!

  • @heypete1

22/45 has nothing to do with whether it is a mkI, mkII or mkIII.

a 22/45 is the 22 model with the grip modelled after the colt 1911.

it is designed to appeal to 1911 shooters who are more comfortable or just prefer the grip angle and pointing characteristics of the 1911.

  • @257sleepy 22 means the bullet

    like .220

    and 45 im not sure

  • @DualDeathShock

the 22/45 is the same gun with a colt 1911 styled grip frame.

it is designed to appeal to 1911 shooters who are more comfortable or just prefer the grip angle and pointing characteristics of the 1911.

  • @257sleepy its a 22lr, and the 45 part shows that the gun was designed close to the size of a 1911 45.

  • Is it a mark II or a 22/45? Looking at the Ruger website, the 22/45 and the mark are different guns.

  • @gizmoguyar 22/45, but it's the 22/45 version of the MkII rather than the MkIII. The MkIII 22/45 has a loaded chamber indicator, magazine disconnect, etc. Sorry for any confusion from the nomenclature.

  • You find which one you want online (or in a catalog, whatever), talk to your local Class III dealer to order it for you, get fingerprinted, get the approval of your local chief of police/sheriff, get some passport pictures taken, mail all of that and a check for $200 to the ATF, and wait a month. Easy. Your dealer will walk you through the details.

  • why pay the $200? here in the UK all we have to do is tell the police we are getting one, then buy it off the shelf, no waiting or toher costs.

  • Because that's what US federal law requires. It seems that Europeans treat suppressors as a health and safety device (reduces the risk of hearing loss) and as a means of being polite (reduces noise annoying neighbors).

US lawmakers evidently have seen too many Hollywood movies that involve hitmen and assassins.

  • bet that sucks. i always thought Americans had it better when it came to guns. i suppose you can still have full autos though.

  • The laws here are generally better, but the National Firearms Act (regulating silencers, full auto, etc.) hasn't been changed since 1934, so some things are a bit dated.

Also, full-autos made after 1986 are illegal for private, non-dealer citizens in the US. MGs registered before then are ok to transfer and own.

    Hooray for stupid laws.

  • we arent allowed anything that even resembles a full auto/assault rifle. i even had a 'skin kit' for my 10/22 that made it look vaguely like an AK-108 confiscated. but then i'm more of a shotgun man, so rifles are just toys to me, they just have to shoot straight, not fire quick.

  • Hardly, you have to be ritch to have autos, its setup to keep them out of poor peoples hands

  • Right. Good luck getting a handgun in Europe. In Europe, they think guns and knives walk around all by themselves killing people. Excuse me while I buy an AR 15 just cause I feel like it.

  • do you no if you can back that a fully auto if ysy please let me know at shallhonda at hotmail dot com

  • I'm afraid I don't really understand your question. If you're asking if one can suppress a full-auto gun, the answer is yes. This silencer is aluminum, and not rated for full-auto use, and it would be damaged if you were to use it for such use. Other ones are made of steel and are rated for full-auto.

  • Daaaaaaaammmmmn!..Bond's gun is never that quiet!..Sonded lik a B-B gun...

  • Big difference!
