@sanjayj1432 My grandpa bought a capri in a md life crisis when I was 8, when watchng the profesionals I used to say can you do that grandpa!?...he say if some one paid for my tyres I would!.....but the RS2000 is the boy for me!......I had a bored out 2.1 with cortina five speed box for wee while when 20, now am 42 and wondering what to buy for my mid life crisis!
Car manufacturers should make these old cars again - i reckon people would buy them! It's a shame about anal emissions laws and safety features as these cars would obviously fail. But that doesn't stop us driving the old ones does it!?
Totally agree. I know i'm fucked in a crash without even headrests or airbags, but it didn't stop me getting a car without them. The capri is great fun.
That's a shame! You missed out on a fantastic car ( and on a favourite game of mine back in the 70's called "Spot the Capri". Drove my parents nuts on long car trips, lol )
@superallye Huhhh? they did import it to america, although it was badged as a mercury, but i have idea why you would want it anyway when you have the mustang, the capri was basically the european mustang with smaller engine and less power then a mustang
They really knew how to screw the arse of those cars back then!

angelfish45 2 years ago
Yes i did ,and with the RS16 under the bonnet its a must to drive like Bodie and Dolye
suke360 2 years ago
The lads would have come over to give you hell if you hadn't emulated them:-)
That must have been great fun !
angelfish45 2 years ago
Yes they would,I evin came close to buy a Mk3 Capri but the price was to high for me those days.
suke360 2 years ago
Was there even an MII RS16? Thought they only did the Mexico, 1800 and 2000, Mex was a 1.6 but not known as RS1600?
Gonch666 2 years ago
As I'm not a car expert, I had to ask for help at the Pros forum I visit, and here is the answer I got:
No there wasn't a MK2 RS1600. The 1600cc in the MK1 was replaced by a 1800cc in the MK2 and only 109 RS1800s were ever built
Mk1 Mexico
Mk1 RS1600
Mk1 RS2000
Mk2 Mexico
Mk2 RS1800
Mk2 RS2000
I hope this helps :-)

so which did you have ? i used to have a mkII 1600 sport, not an RS but good fun
lukeshytalker02 1 year ago

Capri MKII FTW! Damn US Ford executives back in the 70's didn't import that for fear of the Mustang losing sales to it!

Indeed! However I was lucky enough to grow in the Philippines where we at least have the Escort MKII and was actually my first training car =)
