@khav11 define ur idiology of a win? even if you beat on someone, they take all you have, and they punch you in the face and u collapse out of exhaustion or pain or whatever, then u have lost. Even if u landed more and their bleeding. Ur laying on the ground and they put you there.
coxe has got the weirdest fighting style. all his fights are standing straight up with no bent stance and chin straight out with no head movement and just swinging wildly. if this was a boxing match he would get knocked out cold but his fights were entertaining to watch. if he fought like this in the nhl today he would probably get tagged pretty good by some of the heavys or just taken down to the ice because fighters are more technical now not always just fighting on pure emotion.
@flowerdrop1 Probie was a late fighter, which means he really got going when Coxe began to fade at :40. Coxe was tough. I would have "slipped" after the second punch to the head from Probert.
Wow... Coxe played for my local team, the Channel Cats, back in the day after his NHL days were over. He was the team captain. Never knew he was that nasty of a guy. I'm impressed. It's not every day you see a guy give it to Bob Probert like that.
To those of us who have seen Probie...to those who have watched his fight vids here on youtube.......to the younger generation,...this was hockey in the 80's and 90's...where fighters taught lesons..where scores were 7-5 for your fave team...Probie was hockey...Probie was a class act off the ice....the NHL will never be the same....we lost a great hero..we lost a great competitor....and the world lost a great man..to his family..to his wife..i say, thanks Bob....you were my hero...thanks
exactly....he fell....that doesn't mean anything.....didn't get punched down or anything, just fell.....so coxe wins.....sick of people thinking someone wins because the other guy fell or got the "takedown"....this isn't MMA folks
@TheWhiteFactor 200 my ass,try infinity."hockey"(if you wanna even call it that) has gone corperate, sold its soul for...well I dont know what the hell for.I just know that real hockey is dead.
No one really goes toe-to-toe anymore. Stuff like Downey-Janssen is the exception that proves the rule. It's so much fun to see people standing there, trading punches without any concern for blocking them, until one of them buckles.
God almighty the game misses someone like this now days. Talk about a non-skill guy that had an impact on every game. There's no one in the league that even deserves to be mentioned in the same sentance as Probert.
Probert all the way but that Coxe guy went toe to toe with big ol #24.

Well i am now smarter when i change my call, this is a CLEAR DRAW.
Coxe dropped Probie with a punch early part of the scrap and you see it was Coxe was better early, later it was close. Probie with slight adv.
Overall draw.

Very clearly a Coxe win
Imtellingmymommy 2 years ago
Coxe does get the decision dude. Just cuz he slips and falls form a punch to the hemlet does not lose him the fight. He owned Probert for most of it.
Bizzangle 2 years ago 3
Coxe clearly wins this fight...Probert scores late but Coxe controlled most of the fight, surprisingly enough.
Probert hits helmet Coxe slips and falls.
Decision Coxe. No doubt about it.
Probert won their next fight though.
